Wax On Spa

Horrible experience. I made an appointment for myself at 12:00 and my boyfriend at 12:15. The woman waxing my eyebrows finished and takes me to the waiting room at 12:18. Because he was lost, my boyfriend walked in at 12:20 and they refused to take him. Yes, he was late, but considering they also weren’t completed w/​my appointment until 12:18, he was late by 2 minutes.
Further, if you have a ridiculously strict 5 minute late policy, then you should tell people that when you book them for appointments.
Incredibly awful customer service. Will not be returning, and I suggest you go somewhere where they care about you as a customer.
And my eyebrows? Mediocre at best.

I’ve had 2 appointments, both were 10 minutes late. They make you fill out a form each time — which seems odd when you are a returning customer. Also, the place desperately needs to be painted. It would nice if the rooms were a bit more private — you can hear the other clients because the walls don’t go all the way up to the ceiling. And the rooms seem dirty. However, the service was good both times.

I had been to wax on in the past and had only wonderful experiences. Today I went and had the worst experience imaginable. I was so upset by what happened that I felt it really should be expressed so others might not learn the hard way like me.
When I showed up for my brazillian, Min (my waxer) told me that my hair was slightly too short. I said to go ahead and wax it (I had waited the usual amount of time and never had issues in the past). She grabbed my pussy so hard and included the clitoris in the clamping down prior to pulling the wax strips. I was appalled! This has never happened before, and I expressed my discomfort, thinking clearly this was a mistake and it would not happen again. Wrong. She did this twice more before I, angered at her mistreatment of such a sensitive region and surprised by her apparent disregard for the pain she was inflicting, told her very frankly not to touch me there and that I was nearing my limit for pain and could she just finish up so I could get (the hell) out of there! She began to tweeze right on top of my pubic bone and I lost it. I got up, told her I was done, got dressed, paid and left. If there was some sort of place to voice complaints to their licensing officials, I most certainly would. This woman should not be allowed to touch anyone else the way she did me. Disgusting.

I’ve come here twice, and decided it’s not worth coming again. I’ve come for a bikini wax both times and was not impressed. First of all, the table they have you lie down on is wobbly and unstable, which doesn’t inspire the greatest experience. The service I had was also pretty low quality, leaving tons of hairs behind. Lastly, the customer service is lacking. I’ve had super rude service over the phone, having to call multiple times after leaving messages and having the person on the phone say «Oh, we don’t check the voicemail.»
Also, I felt like I was judged for my choice of service, and the woman waxing me made me feel really uncomfortable, as if she was angry that I was there disturbing her afternoon. Usually, for example, people try to make comfortable small talk, and each time the person I had responded with silence or snarky comments whenever I said something — dude, getting a bikini wax is not a comfortable situation and it is only made worse by someone making you feel bad or extra awkward being there.

I’ve heard great thing about wax on and today after my appointment I can say it’s true. The salon was neat and clean (always a plus). I was greeted at the door and shown in by Devon. Not only was Devon a meticulous waxer but she was quick. She gave some recommendation on overall care and solutions to those pesky ingrown hairs. I really liked the salon and based on my experience I will be going back.

Had to go in for an eyebrow wax. I was impressed because it was about the same price I payed in the past to get a eyebrow wax at my salon, I was expecting it to be more. Wax On had a very nice staff and the room had a comfy table. The esthetician (Christa) was nice, fast and knew what she was doing. After my wax was done she took the time to be sure no excess wax was left on my face and also put a nice cooling gel on it. I’d go see Christa again and recommend her to friends.

Have had my brazillian wax twice now with Dawn (not sure on spelling)! She is the best I have been to. SO personable, really does a thorough job. Highly recommend this place!

I feel horrible that I don’t remember the name of the woman who waxed me, but she was blonde and great at her job! This place is small, so making an appointment is a good thing. I was able to make a next-​day appointment. It’s cute and very clean. I was in and out in 20 minutes, and they did a great job putting me at ease in a situation that sometimes can be a little awkward. She did exactly what I asked and I loved that she gave me a hot towel and some body butter afterwards to soothe the waxed spots. My procedure was $ 75, but they have a maintenance charge of $ 55 if you come back in the next six weeks… I would have come back without that, but it just sweetened the deal.

I am not somebody who gets a lot of things waxed, just my eyebrows usually, and not very frequently at that. My brows are naturally arched and only require clean up so I’m generally in and out pretty quickly. That said, Wax On is amazing. They always do a wonderful job and listen to any specifications I have, and always offer to do a little more trimming if I want it. The price is insanely reasonable — typically around 15 bucks — and my sensitive skin only flares up for an hour or two afterwards. I just popped in today for the first time in a year (I know) and Krista was super personable and made the whole experience go smoothly. I’d recommend them to anybody in a heartbeat.

I haven’t Unilocaled in years but its time for me to grow up but saying farewell to places like this — so thought I’d do it publicly!
I pledge to never go to a place solely because they have appointments still available everyday for my procrastinating. WE ALL KNOW what that means!
I pledge to never go to a place where someone says: «oops! I made a bald spot, should I just leave it or do you want me to even it out?» Or «does that Hurt? Yea people always tell me that I Hurt them more than most waxers»
I pledge to never go to a place where I’m 9 minutes late because of completely unexpected traffic only to have them tell me there’s only 6 minutes left in my appointment and they can’t take me. 15 minutes is all you get folks! Most places can’t make a milkshake that fast and I’m trusting you with me *****?! She didn’t offer to make a new appointment or try to squeeze me in or anything– I would have made one right then. I felt so bad for being late and said so! Traffic happens, but so do manners, and Unilocal reviews… And they just lost a customer for life.

Christa Kelly has been doing my brazillians and leg-​waxing for about six months and I swear she has changed my life! I’ve never felt so relaxed and comfortable before in such a weird circumstance but she’s so charming and good at what she does that I actually look forward to my appointments! Im also very pleased with the efficiency and trust her sense of what needs to be done I just show up and leave her to decide shapes and whatnot. My husband is quite a fan of her work as well! It definitely keeps me going back!

No one would believe me if I said the brow wax didn’t hurt, but that had to be the least-​painful, quickest, and most effective waxing I’ve had in a long, long time. It was tender for a day or so after but nothing unusual. Making an appointment online was a snap and they confirmed via phone and email the day before. Their lobby is tiny but they have lots of interesting/​cute things to look at (although they’re a little overpriced in my opinion). The space is clean and well-​lit, and it couldn’t be any more conveniently located.

Quick and clean = the 2 most important things when it comes to Brazilians… and Wax On does both well! Always efficient, friendly, clean, and all the clinicians do a great job!
I’m a long time client of Pink Cheeks in LA (the home of Brazilians) and Wax On is the only spot I’ve found in Seattle that compares.

I’ve come here for multiple waxs, mostly eyebrow and one bikini wax. I’ve been satisfied every time. The prices are comparatively decent. The women who have waxed me have always been friendly and pleasant. I’ve never come away with abnormal redness or ingrown hairs. Unless I’ve got a Groupon for a cheaper deal, this is my regular waxing spot!

I came here for a brazilian after another studio had seriously messed it up, and everything grew back within a couple of days. I waited a couple of weeks and went to Wax On… and my experience was fine.
Nothing outstandingly bad OR good about this place. It’s brisk and bright in the room; my technician was nice though she was on the phone a lot and so we had some delays getting me into the room and then getting started because I could hear her making phone calls — get online scheduling or something, you guys!
The wax itself was sufficient — it fixed the other salon’s bad job, but wasn’t particularly good or bad. Sugaring hurts less than waxing, if you’re curious… I clearly did NOT get sugared at Wax On!
Nothing too much to say either way — the price was ok, service nice enough, and I don’t hate the job they did.

I went here for my first waxing experience and it was not at all what I expected. I had the full leg and Brazilian services. Like some other reviewers that have posted, I expected this to be more of a «spa» experience. It was more like being at the gynecologist. There was nothing relaxing or soothing about the experience. Just very «get in, pay, and get out.» You are laid out on a bed in a tiny room with bright lights to stare at the whole time. I felt very rushed as I was ushered into a room, instructed to take off my pants and underwear, and had the door slammed closed behind me before I had barely walked in.
The leg wax was not very painful I must admit — but the end results suck. I have stubble all over my legs and random patches where my hair (which i had grown out for five weeks) has not even been touched! Feels like a TOTAL waste of money as I now have to just shave my legs anyway.
The Brazilian was ridiculously painful — but I had expected it would be. It wouldn’t have been so bad had the esthetician been a little more patient with me — every time I winced or flinched she practically rolled her eyes and seemed to be really annoyed with me. DID NOT make me feel AT ALL comfortable. Her name is Carly for any one who is planning to go to this place — I would request to have anyone BUT her.

Fantastic experience. I got my first Brazilian along with full leg and underarms to prep for a trip to Guatemala. I got there a little early but we got started quickly. Me technician/​esthetician/​insert other official title here/​was courteous and friendly, fielding my first timer questions easily.
We started with underarms (easy) then did front of legs, brazilian (oof), back of legs. It was much easier and less painful than I expected. Obviously, some areas made me cringe, but what can you really expect when your hairs are being ripped from the follicle? Plus, doing the cannonball move wasnt as awkward as I expected.
Good prices, good location, good people, good results!

My boyfriend got an appointment here and he is happy to report that his Brazilian service went better than expected. His aesthetician was very good and the painfulness he anticipated wasn’t that big of a deal. Word to the wise — don’t skip the splash of whiskey or tequila before the appointment!
Guys, if you’re thinking of taking the plunge, never fear. Your partner will love it.

In my ongoing adventures as a «model», my most recent experience brought me to this location for the first time, and for an extended bikini.
I’ll caveat this with the disclaimer that I have not paid for any service at any wax on spa. They occasionally need folks to volunteer so new employees (who are all experienced in the field, just new to wax on) can be observed, learn the products carried here and so on.
Given that, of course I freakin’ love them, but I also want to give them (and Unilocal) honest feedback – as though i were a paying customer.
The specialist I had this round was super nice, albeit kind of nervous. I really think that was most predicated by the vibe of her supervisor/​instructor. She really puts off a stern «i run my ship high and tight’ vibe that is probably a little intimidating when you are new to a job. I also felt some of the questions she kept asking Anya were .well.they were tough «interview» style questions and perhaps a tad inappropriate timing as I’m witnessing this while naked from the waist down in varying degrees of precarious positions.
That said, the service went smoothly and I am now smooth, too. Wax on, at any of their locations, has their sh*t down and will win your praise and loyalty.

I enjoy this neighborhood and the spa. They provide their own brand of Be sure to ask for Heather. She works mostly at the Capital Hill store or Fremont.
