I wanted to support a local business, so I gave them a shot.
To reward my neighborhood loyalty, they charged me $ 50 (which they required upfront) to tell me to take it to Best Buy to get it replaced.
I understand that their time is worth something, but $ 50 to tell me essentially «it’s broken» seems like a slight over-​estimation of the value of their time.

West Seattle Computers repairs computers and computer-​related equipment and has regular IT maintenance packages for local businesses as well. They also offer malware/​virus removal and prevention services, and they sell a useful collection of IT products in their storefront including hard dives (internal & external), thumb drives, RAM, routers, batteries, USB, HDMI & other cables of all sorts, etc.
The repair services are excellent, and they are honest and forthcoming in providing you with options to solve whatever problem you may have. The store selection is more than I would expect from a repair shop, and they are careful to only stock good quality items.
They also carry Sonos wireless HiFi systems which you can actually test out in the store. The sound is amazing, and you can stream music from pretty much any digital source imaginable (including your own music collection on a remote hard drive).
The storefront is very clean and pleasant and features a couch in front of a flatscreen TV where you can chill out while you wait. We watched part of Return of the Jedi while we were in there!

I purchased a great refurbished Macbook here, the customer service was as good as it gets, possibly the best customer service I have ever had at a computer shop, or maybe even elsewhere. Very knowledgable, not pushy, not expensive, lots of attention and smiles. I will send loads of folks here, what a great resource for West Seattle.

These guys are honest, slightly less expensive then everywhere else I checked (significantly cheaper than the Apple Store, if you have a Mac), and quick. The first time I left my computer with them, they said it would take about 48 hours. Two hours later I got a phone call that they were already done. A couple days later I had issues with my computer again, and they kindly took it back and opened it up for free, even though the problem ended up having nothing to do with the work they did the first time. I would highly recommend West Seattle computer, and I will definitely be back for any future problems I have with my laptops!

It’s hard to find a computer repair shop that offers this level of customer service and quality with the prices to match. Bottom line these guys do good business — they tell you prices up front to the best of their ability, keep you in the loop with repair updates, speak of technical issues comprehensibly and genuinely want to help in a honest, reliable way. I will always go to WSC for my repair needs and am grateful for their swift skills and communication in dealing with high-​stress computer issues. Thank you!

Great customer service, that is why this is the only place I’ll think about getting my computer equipment repaired. I’ve taken in a broken Mac twice and was very pleased both times. The first time it was due to a cracked retina screen. When I talked to them on the phone they were very straightforward and up front about the high cost of that particular part. I took it in and it was fixed within a week with regular calls from them updating me on the status. The second time I took a completely dead Mac in to them for diagnosis. They called me back the next day to tell me the motherboard was toast (confirming my suspicion). They walked me through their process of how they acquire the least expensive parts for the repair, reliability of their work, and how long it will take and the final cost. The next week they called to inform me that the part they had acquired did not work correctly and as an apology for the delay they upgraded the CPU at no additional cost to me. When I went to pick up the computer the next week they let me know they upgraded it *even further* than promised. Absolutely awesome.

I had a meltdown and couldn’t wait for my computer to be fixed and they were the absolute best and most helpful. I would highly recommend them for anything!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Husband brought laptop in for hinge repair. The part they needed was in stock and we got it back the same day! The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Definitely 5 star service.

My laptop had a short circuit. They gave me a fair price estimate and about a 2 – 3 day wait time. However, later that evening they called saying it was ready for pickup. Amazing!
I also only paid half what they estimated.

I brought my laptop in to these guys for repair. This is a nightmare laptop that has had a ton of screen problems, even though it’s considered a high end machine.
The screen had gone blank, and the screen hinge had broken. Again. I paid for the rush service since I’m dead in the water at work without my laptop.
The fixed it the next day. A couple weeks later the screen started having another problem that was different than the first two issues. I took it again again, and they said no additional charge to repair it. I really didn’t expect this to be a callback issue since this is a nightmare laptop and this was a different problem than the first one.
Class acts, and they stand by their work. Thanks for taking one bit of stress out of my life. Bonus points for being in the junction so I don’t need to mail the computer off to some discount repair house and wonder when I’ll get it back.

Nothing more scary than losing the hard drive and all those priceless photos. This business had it recovered within 24 hrs. Super happy. I recommend them highly!

nice guys, knowledgeable, great service I’m sure. they also have insanely high prices and «don’t try to compete». OK. so, if you’re ignorant or desperate, they’re here to take your money.

Sure, I may have come into the store sweating, cradling my clicking external hard drive under my arm like a small baby made of china, but these guys were absolutely accommodating and did a really great job of explaining the best– and worst-​case scenarios. The price seemed reasonable (i’d called a few places beforehand) and they promised (and delivered!) a quick diagnostic turnaround. I was elated to find they were able to recover most of my 500+ GB of files, and even THAT was delivered pretty quickly.
Two weeks later, a different HD goes down. They couldn’t save this one (damn hard drives) but they got back to me ASAP with the diagnosis so I knew to start working on Plan B. Will absolutely be bringing business back here as the rest of my externals are destined to fail on me eventually.

I brought in my laptop that recently had the keyboard repaired by Asurian’s warranty team. The problem is that Asurian used a screw that was too long beneath my keyboard, resulting is a key that was slanted at a downward angle and only worked half of the time.
West Seattle Computers usually has a 30 minute minimum repair labor charge ($ 45); however, because the repair was simple and quick, they only charged me $ 15!!! I was very pleased that they made this exception for me, as they were in no way obligated to. On top of that the owner of the shop and his team were extremely friendly and informative. They definitely earned this 5 star review.
Edit: Also, I thought it was worth mentioning that this store is recently under new ownership. So any review written over a year ago is fairly irrelevant.
Edit #2: adding my second review edit in the same day. Had to return to the shop after my keyboard repair because my computer was giving me a «secure boot error» (whatever that means). They crew in the shop informed me that there was a variety of issues that could cause this error, and they would need to perform a full diagnostic to pinpoint the issue. Much to my chagrin, this meant I would not be getting my laptop back until after the weekend. **Luckily before taking my laptop to the back, one of the crew members suggested I let him try a quick fix option on the off chance that it solved the problem. 5 minutes later my laptop was error free and I was logging in again. Another 5 star experience at West Seattle Computers! I recommend this shop to anyone!!!

When I need my system fixed ASAP I go here… I can’t say enough about the positive experiences I’ve encountered so I’ll just say thanks.
So if you need a repair, computer or simple question, they can handle it all.

My system started crashing so I came in to ask for help. Zadic helped me for no charge, even burned me a copy of the OS I needed and actually cared about fixing my problem, for free! The owner was very friendly when I came back and no one had a shitty pretentious attitude.

Ok… I know I might get some negative comments from this review but here it goes…
I took my computer here becuase my laptop fan was not spinning (I know, it’s an easy fix). When I took it in I told them that it was a fan problem, but they insisted in getting a diagnoses which would cost 45.00 before tax. Which was ok with me, becuase I wanted to know what else was wrong with it. They said that they would call me later that day. They did. But it was less than an hour before they close when they called me. The guy that helped me was very mono-​tone. And wasn’t very nice. He seemed to be upset the whole time. I don’t know if it was me that was upsetting him or if it was something else. So when they called they said it was the fan and that they have it in stock for 25.00. So I said ok do it. I don’t know how much it usually cost to fix a computer, but at this place it was 90.00 an hour. When I got my bill I was pretty shock. It was over 160.00 just to fix the fan. Too much…
If the guy helping me was a bit more polite I might of came back, just base on the fact that they did fix my issue and that I don’t know how much other places are hourly. So I don’t know if it was overpriced or not. And if the guy was more professional I might have given this place a 4 star instead of a three star.

I feel like I can safely say that West Seattle Computers is the ONLY computer repair /​network services company in West Seattle I’ll ever have to use again!
Keeping the fact that I REEEEEALLY hate having to ask for help and even more so, hate having a broken computer, West Seattle Computers took the sting out of an otherwise debilitating computer problem!

Recently bought a wireless router here when I was doing some office work in Georgetown. I had called Staples, Office Depot, Office Max and Radio Shack for pricing and was put on hold every time. I called West Seattle Computers and they picked up the phone on the first ring, matched Radio Shack’s price and set it aside for me.
The front desk guy (can’t remember his name) was really friendly and handled the transaction very quickly, as I was in a big rush.
I also purchased a Dell D610 Laptop from there early last year and have had no problems (other than spyware which was due to not renewing my Kaspersky).
