Specialties
We are at our core an expression of our passion for traditional Italian recipes and our desire to have a sustainable impact on Sonoma County. Peter Lowell’s, a West County restaurant, features only the finest organic ingredients available.
We only support farmers who use sustainable agricultural practices, and our produce comes solely from organic sources. We are especially proud to support biodynamic agriculture, a method of farming based on a deep connection with the soil, earth, seasons, and the spirit that connects our universe. We encourage farmers to take organics a step further by integrating this method — and its healing influence on our earth — into their practices.
History
Established in 2007.
It all started in the spring of ’03. Myself Lowell Sheldon, was cooking at a rustic Italian restaurant in Seattle when, one evening after work and over a glass of wine, I started to bat around the crazy idea. I had just finished college and was planning to move home to Sebastopol. With dreams of starting my own restaurant, it was that evening that I began to wonder if just maybe the time was right.
So here we are, after many long nights of dreaming and many tireless days of building the business from the ground up. Please join us at Peter Lowell’s in celebrating our friends, family, sustainability, and some of the most exciting new world cuisine this side of the Mississippi.
Meet the Business Owner
Lowell S.
Business Owner
Born and raised in Sebastopol, California, Lowell Sheldon grew up experiencing the Sonoma County lifestyle with an appreciation for nature and community. Lowell’s early experiences working in restaurants combined with his passion for community instilled in him a desire to combine a for-profit business model with non-profit ideals. The end goal would be to create a business venture that would be successful financially while simultaneously giving back to, and contributing to, the local community.
Since opening Peter Lowell’s 4 years ago, the learning curve has been steep and intensely rewarding. It is about digging deeper into the core of defining sustainability in today’s world. The sourcing of our produce has always been 100% organic and as local as possible. The sourcing of our meat, cheese and other goods has been built through years of relationship building. The enthusiasm of our loyal customers continues to inspire Lowell to dream up new and innovative ways of community building a
