The Sebastopol Community Center is easy to find. However, with the parking, not so much. It’s an enormous facility with a large main room&two smaller rooms, along with a stage. It’s well-maintained and isn’t far from Lydia’s Express, Community Market, a Tibetan art gallery, and the currently flooded Laguna de Santa Rosa. There was some«creative» parking in the main lot(as in blocking other cars from getting out), so I ended up parking up the hill. It’s a nice public facility.

We had a wedding reception at the annex a few weeks ago. One of the main reasons we held it there was because it was the most reasonably priced venue in the area and our ceremony was taking place about a mile away at my husband’s aunt and uncle’s house. The space looked beautiful after it was all set-up and ended up working out perfectly for what we wanted. I would advise anyone that is thinking about holding an event there that they aren’t the most timely with responses to phone messages or emails and they seem like they are really there to supply the building, not much more than that. While there were times it was frustrating, it worked out just fine for us.

I traveled here for the Real Music series by Oliver’s Market, to benefit the Redwood Empire Food Bank. I was impressed with the multitude of spaces available, the friendliness of the staff represented, and the acoustics, perfect for music. The location would be great for a dance or social, and effortlessly accommodated a huge crowd of multi-generational attendees. My only concern, and angst was the parking. We ended up leaving part way through to find dinner, and upon returning there was no parking anywhere, even on the street. This is a great problem to have, I think, because it proved the turnout and support of a community this dedicated, even in a small space. Regardless, we ended up parking 7 blocks down and walking, which proved to be a challenge once the event was over and was dark with no street lights. Overall quite the venue, and such a great asset to the City of Sebastopol!
