I’m so used to clean, service-minded, Sonic restaurants with good consistent quality food, that when I stopped at this location in Shawnee only 45 miles from their headquarters in OKC, I was very disappointed to find such a dirty, rude location serving sub-standard food. No wonder they can’t stay open normal Sonic hours, even though they across he street from 2,000 hungry college students. — One Star because you can’t give zero.

There are five Sonics in town and this is one I ended up at. I chose poorly. They don’t have a Sonic where I live so I had been looking forward to a chicken strip dinner throughout my whole trip to Oklahoma. But I think the chicken strip dinner I got must have been one that was made by accident and left to sit under the heat lamp until somebody else ordered one. Every bit of it was cold and stale, even the Texas toast. A total disappointment! When I got back to my family’s house they were like ‘We should’ve warned you not to go to that location’. There is a sign at the drive through advertising that the first Sonic opened in Shawnee back in the 50’s. I hope this store isn’t trying to take any sort of credit for what makes Sonic so epic. Sonic Industries should be embarrassed with this location.

The building and parking is always nasty. The service is slow and terrible. When you pull up to a stall half of them don’t work properly and you can’t use your card to pay. Go to one of the other Sonics in town. There is plenty of others to go to.
