Here at Taco Tico we believe there is a better way to operating a Tex-​Mex restaurant. That’s why we invest so much into cooking all own beef, beans, chicken, rice, chili, queso, hot and mild sauces, enchilada sauce, and so much more. We chop our own tomatoes, onions, and make Pico fresh.

We put so much into our food because it tastes better that way and you love it. Every order is assembled when you want it, that was the hand rolled enchiladas, crispy beef tacos, bean burritos, dinners, Quesadillas and everything else is the quality meal you and you family deserves.

We are family owned and managed, we have been serving Shawnee and surrounding areas since 2001. Our commitment has always been to provide quality food, with the best ingredients possible, at a great price. Our lobby has recently been renovated and has an artfully crafted mural, booths, regular seating area, a separate area featuring arcade games, and a great atmosphere and low music that everyone is sure to enjoy!

History

Established in 2001.

Two hard working Oklahomans decided to open Taco Tico in order to restore the brand to the people of Shawnee, and surrounding areas, who love it. Those who know Shawnee, know that years ago there used to be a Taco Tico. The goal from the beginning was to provide quality historic food, that is true to the Taco Tico way. Also to provide great customer service and give individuals, Family’s, and couples a positive place to sit down and eat, or take home a quality meal.

Over a decade later, my parents still own their restaurant. I, their son, strive to continue the legacy that they began. We have a very loyal customer basis, many of which we know by name. Its nice to come to a place where you can be recognized as a valued person and get fantastic tasting quality Tex-​Mex. That is our goal today and in the many years to come.

When I was young I would come in and enjoy the people, the quality food, and the environment. As soon as I could work here I did. I learned how to do every role, treat the customer right, make the food fresh using the best quality ingredients, and get to know many customers by name. I grew up here and running it efficiently and providing quality food and friendly service means everything to me. Me and my wife invest so much into what we do. It is my goal to honor my parents by running the business they created and to keep it a loved place in Shawnee.
