We specialize in being the best. We are the only spot that provides the variety that Smiles offers. We have dinner service (great quality food at reasonable prices); smoking patio; occasional: live music, karaōke, comedy, performances, bands, 2 VIP rooms (one with private bar, restroom and dancefloor), classic video games, sports bar capabilities, DJs, go-​go dancers, premium sound system, prime Ventura Blvd. location, and more. There really are no other places in the area, that offer the mix that Smiles does. With that being said, Smiles’ bar is the best in the business period. I built it with my own two hands. We use only the best call, premium, & super premium liquors and mixes in the bar. No cheap crap. We are the only bar in the Valley to offer Louis IV, and I personally created the drink recipes and trained my bar staff. Order a Smiles Premium Cadillac Margatini, or our mojito.

History

Established in 2008.

Smiles was a dream of mine that began more than 15 years ago when I first got started in this business. I worked as a host at Red Onion back in the day, later as a busboy at Islands, worked my way up to a server, took a couple of server jobs at various places like Hard Rock & Fridays. Got a barbacking job a couple of years later at a place called Mamagayas, then after that, started bartending at a couple of places (Sky Sushi, Fenix @ the Argyle, Crustacean, Westwood Brew Co). All the while I was pursuing a Business Management Degree at CSUN. Worked for a couple of years on a business plan, and then robbed a bank and voila! Now I got my Smiles :) Just kidding, I don’t want the heat from the FBI. I wanted to create something unique and one of the best restaurant /​bars /​clubs in the area. Smiles is new, but I definately think the potential is there. We bring diversity & a variety of different entertainment options. «A Little Bit of Something for Everyone».

Yo Whats Up? So do you guys like Smiles? One thing I like to stress is that Smiles is a work in progress. It will always be that way. There is always room for improvement, and it”s my goal that Smiles’ customers will see that. Whether it’s the food, the entertainment, the prices, the décor, the service, the layout… I want people to come in and see improvement. I do this business because I love it, not for the money. I would do it for free, and actually so far I haven’t made any money from it, but I don’t care. If I do things right, money will come later. When I put my effort into doing something, I want it done right. I hope this translates through when you come to experience my bar. A lot of people have called me anal retentive, I just think that I pay attention to detail. I beleive in hard work, doing your homework, not rushing things, doing things intelligently & correctly, & hopefully this attitude will translate to a positive experience for you next time @ Smiles!
