This place is a crowded, claustrophobic warren of incredible treasures. Kevin inexplicably knows where to find anything and everything, and is incredibly helpful and patient. I could have spent hours in here. I’ll definitely be back, and am so thrilled this place is in my neighborhood. One of a kind.

So I live right behind Stern’s Draperies and yes there were a few homeless guys setting up their belongings Only at night time. I went over and spoke to Kevin the owner in which he had no idea this was going on. This was all happening at night when the store was closed. Kevin INSTANTLY resolved this situation. They are no longer there. He is a great guy and does great work. These pictures are not a true depiction of this place. It happened three nights in a row and the problem is resolved.

These are the nicest people probably in the world. I broke the cord in my draperies and Kevin was so polite and considerate about my feeling so badly, as he had fixed it several years ago. I am handicapped right now (really bad car accident — not my fault) and I couldn’t close the drapes. up comes Dee to see what he can do –only a couple of hours after I spoke to Kevin — and what he does is/​are perform miracles. The drapes are up, they slide as though they are on an electric glide and my faith in honest and capable merchants has been completely restored. They even told me that should I break the cord again, just call them, and they will be right back! So nice and oh yes the price, so very fair. Before you go anywhere else give Kevin a call you won’t need to call anyone else.

Love this store! Beautiful fabrics at great prices. Kevin, the owner, really knows his stuff. I’ve bought fabric and had draperies made there as well. I just bought some Italian fabric that I am using to do some reupholstering and had I bought it anywhere else it would have been way out of my price range. Check this place out!

I have gone here a few times and am done. Each time I go the parking lot is like a mini version of skid row. Homeless people, shopping carts, trash, all around the building. If I wanted that I would go to downtown LA. I will not go back here and unless you want to be confronted by homeless people arguing with each other (and you), I would stay away.

Kevin is such a NICE man! Wonderful selection, albeit very crowded. It’s like an adventure though, there are goodies around every corner, you never know what you might find. Prices sounded phenomenal, too! Perfect for those upholstering projects.

Excellent fabric store. Although I have not purchased any special, beautiful fabrics yet, I love going to this place. The selection is great and massive! It’s fun to walk around through it all. The prices seem fair, and the owner is very helpful and friendly but not in your face and «salesman-​like.» I look forward to coming here when I have some more projects in mind. There’s parking in the back and it’s a fun place to go to get ideas.

This place is awesome. I went here looking for swatches for a coach reupholstery project, after a pretty mediocre search on Melrose. This is a very well-​stocked family-​owned fabric shop. They’d actually gotten two new shipments when I got there, and were a little overwhelmed… only the owner, Kevin, was running the place (his assistant recently passed away, poor guy.) Despite having to man the phones and deal with the store, he was super nice, helpful and accommodating, and even climbed up to get to a distant roll to get me a swatch. I got at least seven good options at EXCELLENT prices (and the quality was high.) They’ve got basically anything you’d need for drapes or upholstery with wholesale prices. No need to schlep all the way over to Downtown where the parking sucks and the sales people give you the stinkeye when you can just get it here from Kevin!
