Specialties

SweetHarts is a very special dessert shop featuring frozen yogurt, gelato, cupcakes, cake balls, brownies, cakes, candy and a full coffee drinks bar. We also have gift merchandise and a wonderful party room available for birthdays and special events. We will be presenting live acoustic music and singer/​songwriter performances this spring and summer. The shop is also planning children’s events and special holiday events. Please check in with us for details. We hope to make your experience a very memorable one and look forward to hearing from our friends on how we are doing.

History

Established in 2009.

SweetHarts was established in 2009 by the original owners including Melissa Joan Hart. The shop breifly closed in December 2011 and was purchased by Jarrett and Ligia Lesko. SweetHarts was reopened Febuary 17th, 2012.

Jarrett and Ligia have a son, Oliver, and two daughters, Ileanna and Mykiella. The Lesko family is very excited about their new business and are planning lots of fun things and new changes for the store.

Business Owner

Jarrett is a businessman, general contractor and musician. He built a construction business in 1977 until 1996 and went into the families furniture business in 1997. Jarrett opened Islington Green fine furniture in Westlake Village in 2008. Throughout the years Jarrett has been an active musician playing with several original rock bands and now plays and performs in bluegrass and acoustic bands.

Okay, it likely deserves the 3.5 stars — but this is why i’m a fan.
At first sweethearts is a cool space to bring a girl to, and the treats are decent, nothing outstanding… but the non-​dairy chocolate gelato — yea i said it! NON-​DAIRY… it tastes better than the real thing! I mean it’s not supposed to be, it’s missing the milk and the cream and the fatty deliciousness, but this is truly something special.
When you’re in the mood for that pure chocolate indulgence, try this — it’s a silky milky chocolate melting in your mouth. must try when you don’t want to feel as guilty but want to satisfy that chocolate craving.

My wife and I checked out Unilocal for some desserts in the area and found Sweetharts had gelato. The staff was friendly and the shop was nice, but the gelato wasn’t the greatest. I had the mint chocolate chip and the flavors weren’t balanced well. It reminded me of my first attempt at making peppermint shakes at home. My wife’s gelato was meh as well. She had some orange chocolate thing. This place has potential, they might need to refine their gelato recipes.

I LOVE!!! candy stores. I love that they have both gelato and frozen yogurt. I love that they have a large variety of candy!!! This shop is very very cute! and next to vitellos so i can get nice and fat all around. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is I wish there was a more adult atmosphere. Makes sense that this is targeted to kids (even though its all adults spending money) I just wish there was a more relaxing atmosphere for hardworking adults to relax while eating their delicious desserts. But the location isn’t huge. It looks very well decorated for what it is!
Great service, great goodies! I just wish there was a little section for adults to hang out and have little booths or something? haha. but this is a selfish request.

When I first walked in I felt like a kid in a candy shop. No joke. The art and décor is finely thought out. Fruit stripes gum! I haven’t had this since I was a kid. Come on anyone selling this has good taste. Your gelato was delightful. I had one large scoop of mango mixed with cherry to go. That wasn’t enough, I ordered a side bread pudding. Now I must say that I am very particular about my bread pudding. I hold it to a high standard! This was grade A. When I took it home, I heated it up in the micro for 15 seconds. Melted in my mouth. Was everything I had hoped it to be. I have been back once since and i will definitely go back again. Try the s’more froyo. Freakin goooood! I am telling you… check this place out. Someone that pays this much attention to quality deserves an award because my taste buds are excited!

and… if you can handle it, its a great place to take kids for a adhd high, since sugar and dairy are the major components.
is it my favorite dessert place? No, but its a locally owned business… not a franchise and the staff are pretty nice. and for a yogurt jones its either this place or Humphrey Yogarts at Van Nuys near Moorpark.

I’ve driven by this place forever, and I always think, hmmm… looks cute, but where is the entrance? Whatever, and I keep driving.
Well, recently some out-​of-​towners and I were next door at Señor Freds and they said they’d heard Melissa Joan Hart had a sweets shop in the area and dragged the Angelenos there. We walked in and its looks like Taylor Swifts bedroom, when she was 17. Super girly and bright with lots of stuff going on. I’d just had 2 cocktails and didn’t need anything else but the out of towners went full throttle on the frozen yogurt machines, candy and the cupcakes. They were all pleased with their sweets, but I don’t believe I heard anyone say anything remarkable about anything they had. It seems like a menchies, coffee shop, candy shop and the arclight gift section were all melded together in a teenage girls dream bedroom. All that being said, the staff was super nice and upbeat. There are a few tables scattered about and a large communal table at the entrance with board games available for all to use while they hang out.
This place is cool for the younger set, or for the Sabrina the Teenage witch fan club and although I’m neither, I wouldn’t rule out a stop for some gelato during the summer.

A sparkly-​sweet place that’s both delightful and a bit hard on the eyes. Sugar wonderland: they have candy, gelato, serve-​yourself frozen yogurt and toppings, and gigantic cupcakes, plus a coffee bar. I was there for the gelato, which was unremarkable as far as gelato goes. The woman who helped us was very nice. The party room in the back is crazy: a giant chair for the birthday child (I’m guessing that with the amount of pink and purple, very few boys have parties here) and a long table with large glass candies under the tabletop.
This would be an incredible place to take a kid for a Saturday treat.

Toffee Latte was good (but expensive) and the Pistachio gelato was quite good.
Yogurt and topping were just OK.
There are only 5 or 6 parking spaces and they are pretty small.
Came to celebrate a 2 year old’s birthday party. I would not recommend this place for a bunch of kids. There is just NOT enough room. Also, it just is not the age appropriate place for 2 year olds. There is no place for them to play. There was only about 20 of us and it was cramped.
So overall, nice place to stop byand get a sweet treat BUT would not host a toddler’s party here. Maybe a baby shower or a tween girl’s party.

I am not a sweets person, but this place was too cute and fun not to pass up. They even have board games at their table at the back of the room. Probably to entertain the little ones, but who said 22 was too old to play. Their fro-​yo was very good and I’m usually pretty particular about this. Oh and I heard Melissa Joan Hart is the owner! Yay for Sabrina bewitching me into loving these endless sweets that Sweetharts has to offer!

There gelato is delicious, and they have some really unique flavors. They’re really open to letting you try the flavors as well. I love the mint chip. They also have a great bakery selection, with these amazing cookie sandwiches… to die for. They also have a great self-​serve frozen yogurt set up, similar to Yogurtland etc. The flavors vary, they have an amazing Thin Mint yogurt, but the flavors vary by day.
The atmosphere is super fun and there are a lot of cool vintage toys and candy items to browse.

This place serves cupcakes, gelato, espresso/​cappucino, froyo, and much more — and does it all equally well. The man who works the counter most times I’ve been there is extremely knowledgeable, I know because we asked lots of questions. Go there, you’ll see why.
My faves are: their gourmet version of a hostess cupcake, and strawberry gelato with thinner-​than-​paper shavings of chocolate throughout.
This place is beautiful, fun, unique, pleasing to kids as well as adults. Be careful not to park on the residential streets, as you will get a ticket.
Their parking lot is shared with Vitello’s, the busy pizza joint next door, so it’s packed. I always get a parking spot when I visit before 6:30 p.m.

I love this place. It makes everyone I bring here smile. it’s a bit costly, sure but it has a great feel to it — like walking into a scene from «Alice in Wonderland». There is a wide variety of frozen yogurts and toppings. The gelatos rock my world. Well done! Also, take a look at their stationary, cute stuff!

Let me explain something about myself: I’m a sugar junky. If it’s sweet, I want it in my mouth. Since I don’t want the diabetes & obesity that goes along with being a sugar junky, I limit myself to only eating sweets on the weekends. Keeping that in mind, I went to Sweetharts last Sunday, bought a chocolate-​peanut butter cupcake and ate about ¼ of it before it went in the trashcan.
The cake was overcooked & dry. The frosting had an odd aftertaste & was not very peanutbutter-​y at all. My boyfriend got a cookie sandwich. I had a bite and though better than the cupcake — it was not spectacular. Definitely not worth blowing your diet over!
I so wanted to like this place! It is super cute. The server could not have been nicer. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I’ll try the gelato before completely writing this place off.

Pretty cool place to walk to for dessert /​espresso if you’re dining nearby. It’s interesting and definitely ‘date’ friendly ;-)
Double-​espresso, cupcake and a slice of bread pudding for about $ 12…not bad.
Espresso wasn’t exactly a good blend. It tasted even more bland than Starbucks espresso. The cupcake (blueberry) was OK but I would never add that much sugar to the icing (which was creamcheese based). Bread pudding bread had chocolate chips and didn’t seem very fresh. It’s still a nice place for dessert though.

I don’t know if anyone knows that this place is owned by Melissa Joan Hart from Sabrina the Teenage Witch! Although she’s not there most of the time. I just hope someday I will see her at the store!
This place was so cool! So cute and unique. It has every type of typical candy you’re looking for. I love the décor and how they arranged everything. Their gelato is just AMAZING.
The people working here are just great. So friendly and so helpful. I wanted to try a few yogurts and gelato and she was so nice about it!!!
The only con to this place would be the parking. It’s really small. so I guess I won’t be able to come here more often during summer because of parking issues. But I guess I wouldn’t mind parking in the residential areas.

If you grew up with Farrell’s as your go-​to Ice cream place and miss its celebration of all things sugar, you’re in luck. Sweetharts gives you that same thrill without the obnoxious birthday drum.
A frozen yogurt fan? Sweetharts has got you covered with flavors that actually taste like the names describing them – a lost art! My favorite was the root beer, which mixed with vanilla, gave me the guilt-​free taste of a frothy root beer float!
It doesn’t stop there. From fresh baked goods to gelato to candy, don’t be surprised if your dentist’s business card is on the bulletin board.
Just remember to brush afterward, but if you don’t, I’m sure you’ll agree that a few seconds of painful drilling were worth the delicious price of admission.
