Choice Auto Center – Service

This negative rating is primarily for misrepresentation and overpricing. I wrote an extensive review back in April (2015) and for some reason it is not «recommended,» so I’m trying again, because, a year after purchasing a 2006 Saab from Choice for $ 10,000, I am close to putting that much money into keeping the car road-​worthy. It has experienced major problems every 3 – 4 weeks, including yesterday when (again!) the engine just quit and will require $ 800 in repairs (that includes a major discount because we have been frequent flyers at Boston Volvo/​Saab to repair this disaster.) I helped my son buy the car. He has just completed mechanic’s training and trusted that due to the year and make that this would be a good Saab. (2006 was a good production year for Saabs and those coming off the assembly line were reliable.) However, despite the car looking great on the outside and riding well during our test drive, nearly every part, including tires, has quit or would have failed inspection, starting within the first days and weeks of owning the thing. Please look below for «reviews not recommended» for more on this, but I would advise anyone looking at a car at Choice to proceed with caution. They way overpriced this car based on its make and curb appeal rather than the seriously defective shape it was in. I’m afraid our experience has reaffirmed the perception many of us have of used car lots and we will only deal with certified pre-​owned dealerships from now on.
