Bark! Bark! Daycare & Grooming

Yesterday, I dropped off my 2 dogs at 8:00 AM and I picked them up today at 3:00 PM. I was charged $ 199.00! I want to repeat that — I was charged $ 199.00 for my two dogs to be there from 8:00 AM yesterday to today at 3:00 PM! I called at noon today and spoke to Vivian one of the owners to let her know my plans were changed. She gave me this run around with the numbers. When I got there to pick up my dogs, her poor receptionist was left there to explain this over charge. I have been taking my dogs to Bark Bark since they opened, since before the dogs I have now were born. My dogs have been groomed, gone to daycare, boarded and training classes. I think the staff at Bark Bark does a great job. My bad review is in no way a reflection of the staff. This review is based on the owners.

My boyfriend called to make an appointment on new years eve to get my two smelly fur babies a nice bath and some grooming for their «new year, new me» look. Haha, anyway… I came at the time of the appointment, and they took the pups in right away. Was asked what kind of cut I wanted for the babies and I’m like… Uh… Just make them cute? Haha
They were backed up from appointments and I guess were also running late. I didn’t mind. It was a little passed four hours. a bit longer than what I was told, but she did tell me that they were backed up. I called for a time estimate until they’re done, and I they called back 20 mins after I asked for an update to pick up my babies.
I got there and my puppies look so fluffy and soft. They were cute! At petsmart, they wouldn’t brush out the mats in one of my dogs and just shaved him :(and he didn’t look cute! They made it work here at bark bark. :)
As for price, it was affordable. If I’d went to petsmart, I’m sure they’d charge me 55 dollars. That’s for one dog :(. Here they give 10 percent off for bringing 2 dogs in :).
Would recommend this place! Never going back to petsmart ever again!

Completely forgot to review, but took my dog for a groom here and was beyond satisfied with how he came out! I normally do pet smart, but I will keep coming back here! Friendly and affordable! Thanks!

this is probably one of the cutest and friendliest pet groomers I have ever been too. I was greeted immediately ! staff was so nice. They didn’t take very long either, my dog was done in about 40 minutes and came out smelling great. I really liked this place because of their work, my dog. some out so shiny, and her nails were perfect. That is always one of my issues with her, my dogs nails grow so fast and nobody cuts them how I like. Except this place, bark bark went above and beyond ! Plus it was a great bonus to get 10% off because of my first visit & a free blueberry facial. thank you again ! I will definitely be coming back !

My whole doggie family get their grooming from Emmy… she is an absolute Saint!!! We love her and she loves our boys. I’ve never felt so close to a Groomer, she really cares and does such a good job. Recently I took my senior dog, that’s she’s groomed for a couple of years and now he’s very difficult to deal with, she aced it!!! Thank u Emmy!!! 20 stars here!!! Plus we love Danny

This place is THE BEST. We take our Australian Shepherd (Jack) here when my boyfriend and I both have to work during the week. The place is very clean and everyone who works here is very nice. Jack LOVES coming here. When we pull up into the parking lot, he gets so excited he starts barking and just wants to go in and play so badly! Once I pick him up, he is POOPED!!! It is really such a good deal, considering he’s there all 12 hours of the day. Once were home, he’s out like a light! I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a doggy daycare. It is such a great place and I trust them with my baby 120%! Oh, I forgot to mention the awesome webcam they have so I get to check up on Jack and see how he’s doing during the day!!! :)

My Chihuahua /​Cocker Spaniel had a great experience here today. She’s 1 years old and this was her first time coming to the groomers and she did pretty well! Bark Bark did a great job shampooing and trimming her hair and nails. I definitely recommend everyone to give them a try. $ 39 after tip for my 7lbs puppy. Best deal and service around. They come highly recommended by me.

I have had the pleasure of bringing my two Shitzu dogs on a couple of occasions. They have done a fabulous job with grooming and styling just the way i like them. The price they charge isn’t so bad either. Both dogs came out to a total of only $ 81.00; which included the works!

I’ve been taking my two babies here since the beginning. I don’t trust anybody as much as I trust them with my everything. I don’t know what I would do without them.

I gave them another chance because like I mentioned I really enjoyed taking my dogs here. I made the mistake of not asking for a specific groomer last time so this time around I asked for Edgar. He did a great job! I will continue taking my dogs here for grooming as well as boarding. I will now specifically ask what groomers are available before I make my appointment.

Hunter loves coming here and playing with all his friends. Staff is great. Awesome service. Very very clean! !!

Hands down best place in Long Beach & Signal Hill. Staff is friendly and professional. No hassle and affordable.

My Max loves Bark Bark. He’s excessively energetic and I’m not sure he ever sits down while at Bark Bark. He can’t wait to get inside when we pull up. The staff are super friendly and the monthly deals are great too. My favorite offer is that if you do grooming/​bath here, your dog can stay at day care all day for just $ 10 on the day of grooming. Kills two birds with one stone! But the very best part… how tired max is after!

Doggy Service: ²⁄₅
We came in for The Full Bark (full grooming). I asked for a short cut. The groomer said he will leave ¼ inch of fur. My furry friend came back with a lot more than just ¼ inch of fur. The face and ears were barely trimmed. The ear hair was not fully cut away. But hey, she smelled nice…
There are two reasons why we aren’t coming back:
1) My doggy had fleas a week after coming here. She’s an indoor dog, so there was no way she could have gotten them anywhere.
2) They receptionist didn’t ask for any proof of rabies or vaccination papers. Does this mean all dogs with or without shots are welcomed? No thanks…

The receptionist and the groomer were super nice.

Our dog, Abby, was about as shy as it gets. She loves her four-​legged friends but has always been nervous around the 2 legged-​types. We got our little lady from a rescue foster in Ventura county over a year ago. She had never been out on a walk and the birds chirping where totally new! She shivered so much in those days. But now, this confident little athlete of ours has become such a star. She jumps over and over again over the gate and loves to play chase all day long with her friends. We love that she’s exhausted by the time we pick her up in the evening.
What we love the most, by far, are the many relationships she’s developed with the staff at Bark! Bark! So much so that it took me a couple weeks to get used to how much she loved being at daycare. I felt a little jealous. Of course, I’m over that now!
She uses the overnight services too, by the way. We learned that keeping her overnight is a little tough on her but the staff make it the best it could be. Thank you Bark Bark!

We’ve been taking our furry kids to Bark Bark for many years now. They are very courteous, consistently does a good job and the facility is clean. Pricing is reasonable for the services. Our dogs typically get the fleas treatment (shampoo) as a precaution, blueberry facial, the works! They come home smelling great and clean.

To put it lightly, my 6 month old miniature poodle, Leo, is a bundle of energy. In spite of the fact that I take him on fairly long walks on a daily basis, he manages to reach into his puppy energy stores and run shockingly fast laps around my house every night. Since I knew that his excess energy was partially attributable to staying home alone for a few hours every weekday, I looked up options for doggy daycare by my school in Long Beach. I was very pleased that Bark! Bark! provided me with a puppy report card that detailed how Leo got along with the other dogs at the facility.
The best part of taking Leo to Bark! Bark! is how exhausted he is when I pick him up. It puts my mind at ease to know that he gets lots of exercise and socialization at daycare, instead of being cooped up at home. I plan on taking advantage of their «Spaw Day» package (which includes $ 10 daycare with the purchase of grooming) next time Leo needs a haircut.

I took a stray here. They were so accommodating to get him in late on a Sunday.
They did a basic wash and brush, but were nice to clean his ears too. I added the flea shampoo (there are lots of different shampoos or extras you can add).
I love the décor and layout, including the easy to read and follow prices on treatments.
They have lots of cameras for the doggy daycare.
The staff is very friendly and warm too.
Only minor downside is I was told to come back an hour after I dropped the dog off, and when I came back exactly an hour later they hadn’t even started working on him… so had to wait another hour.
Sent me a nice coupon in the mail too.

This place is awesome! They did such a great job on my little guy. He came in needing a really good bath and a serious hair cut. When I picked him up (after about 1.5 hours) he looked like a completely different dog! I could hardly believe my eyes. My groomer was Edgar and he was super nice. They were even able to take me on a same day appointment. They said my pup was a little angel on his puppy report card… I think they were being a bit generous about that though. Lol
Five star service!

We’ve brought out dog Bacon in twice so far for only overnight stays. 4 stars for the first time and 2 stars for this last time. So right now 3 stars from me.
The first time was a 4 star experience. We found this place through Unilocal and I saw it on Groupon (didn’t buy one though). We were in search of a place to bring our dog when we go on vacations/​last minute trips and later for a long term stay when we go on our honeymoon. What drew us to this place was the fact it’s open play/​sleep and we can check on him via webcam. First time he stayed there for 4 nights and it was great. For $ 45 a day with play time and an update/​report card on how he did as we checked him out. They told us he had a super minor scratch on his ear, but we couldn’t even find it, so it was fine. We just appreciated that they let us know. Only thing about that visit was that he must of been poked in the eye or something because his eye was red and then had some discharge the next couple of days. But other than that, overall we were happy customers.
Unfortunately this last visit did not leave me feeling very satisfied at all. We had family emergency in SF and dropped off Bacon for another 4 night stay, but this time we decided to try their grooming. I also bought a Unilocal deal for $ 20 for a $ 30 certificate since we were a new customer to grooming and knew we would have to pay for it when we picked him up (you pay for overnight stays in advance). But when we picked him up that $ 30 certificate wasn’t applied, and instead it was only $ 20 off. The receptionist was trying to explain that that’s how the system handled it and it was very strict and that I still got $ 20 off. But since that’s the same amount that I paid, in reality there was no discount, so I felt a little cheated. Also if you pick up your dog a minute after 12 (even with grooming), you’ll still get charged the $ 10 fee (we picked him up around 12:30 after we received a call that they were able to squeeze in his grooming earlier). Kind of a bummer when you’re already paying for an exit bath/​grooming ($ 45 for a 50−75lbs dog), other places we tried waive the late fee. On top of all that, we didn’t get any update or report card whatsoever on his stay or his grooming. And also once we got home there was a scratch on his front leg we were unaware of. :(I know things happen when dogs play, but still would of been nice to know of this before we brought him home.
Overall it was a totally different experience between our first time and our second time. We did make Bacon’s next appointment for this coming weekend because we still have family business to tend to in SF, but now I’m a little hesitant to bring him back. :(I guess we’ll see what happens.
