Nu Image Now Wellness Center

Since I am the duchess (hair flip), it’s time for my review. My favorite aspect about this gym is that it is never crowded. It’s usually just me and a few other gym-​goers and then a few more personal trainers with their clients. I’ve never seen more than 10 people in the gym at once. But full disclosure I’m a morning gym girl.
No showers. Minus one star.
I was paying the same price at the Belmont… and they have a steam room, sauna, blah blah blah. That place is also extremely crowded. So I moved away from the silly shore & live down the street from Nu Image. I’m going to take away another star because for what you get, I think they’re charging a bit much. But it’s okay to pay a little more for the serenity of an empty gym. Also, if the owners are reading this, please add more yoga & pilates classes!

love this place! and love my trainer rachael she’s awesome! She really knows how to push you in the right direction to meeting your fitness goal!

This place is awesome. It happened to be across the way from a relatives house and I decided to just stop in. I had lots of questions about their services because Im aiming to be into fitness LoL.
The front desk staff here are inviting answered every question I had and the gym area is modern with a open come on you can do it work out vibe!
They even hv child care-​yes thank you!

I was very impressed with Dr. Hunter. After trying out other chiropractors, he is the best so far. He took time to evaluate my neck and lower back problems and didn’t rush me as other chiropractors had done in the past. Manual traction felt more effective than mechanical one, and manual adjustment was firm and released the tension I had. The receptionist was very pleasant as well. I liked the fact that he was not like many other chiropractors who just want you to come back many times to make more money when it is not necessary. I will recommend him to my friends.

Just relieved an amazing massage from Nazaria. She got to all my knots and troubled areas and I left feeling new. I start working out with Terry at the same location tomorrow and I have a good feeling about my new health routine here.

$ 75 for a true hour of tai massage by Jenny. If u r looking for a relaxing massage… this is not for u. Jenny combines a bunch of techniques to work out sore spots and stretches the heck out of u. She works hard for hour. I’m going back!!!

Dr. Lum is awesome! I’ve re-​injured a previous back injury 2x in the last 4 years and both times Dr. Lum’s methods have sped up my recovery time. It’s true what you hear or read; Dr. Lum’s methods will hurt! He’ll dig and loosen that tough tissue, but you just gotta suck it up because it will be all worth it! Dr. Lum is very knowledgable. I haven’t met another chiropractor like him! Whatever he does… it works! Not only is he a great chiropractor, he’s one of the nicest! I highly recommend him! I don’t even live in Long Beach anymore but still make the trip down from Hollywood when needed. In addition, this place has a great gym and staff! If you like Crossfit, it has amazing coaches and clients! Nu Image is a great place overall!

Dr Brian Lum is the best. Took my daughter in for sports injury last minute, emergency call. Can’t say enough. Plenty Mahalos !!!

Blew out my lower back last night and Dr. Lum came to my rescue. He first massaged out my lower back and also my hips, which were very tight, and it might’ve been the worst (tolerable) pain I’ve ever experienced lol! He then adjusted and stretched out my legs/​hips and adjusted my back. The pain was worse than the initial pain from my lower back but it was definitely worth it lol. Walking out much looser with less pressure and a better feeling back. If it wasn’t for Dr. Lum, I’d probably be stuck in bed not being able to move at all. Thank you Dr. Lum for taking me in last minute and helping me out! Life saver!

I started coming to get in a healthy way of living. I was excited for a smaller/​family oriented type of gym. This place is by far just a gym. There are so many amenities to your disposal.
I was recently in a rear end car accident. I was unfortunate to be in the back seat. I started to receive treatment from Dr. Lum and Dr. Gunter. They fully evaluated myself and my family. Treated us. Fully informed us, what happened, why our bodies feel the way the do and how they will treat us.
After weeks of getting chiropractic treatment, I felt so much better. My hips, lower/​upper back, neck and arms have never felt so brand new.
For those who are looking for great Chiropractic doctors. Dr. Lum and Dr. Gunter are your guys. My family and I can’t thank them enough. The staff at Nu Image are just as great. They welcome you warm smiles and feel like you have known them forever.

Great staff great chiros! I see Dr. Gunther and Dr, Lum for all the adjustments I need. They give me the treatments I need to recover faster and they are very nice.

Came out here to check out the place and it’s an OK size but not a lot of people working out so empty machines all over. Bathroom and changing rooms are private, very chill atmosphere. Place needs a better sound system to get you pumped and also can use some better décor.

I love this place. Just started the Kettle Bell classes and they are kicking my butt. I work out pretty regularly, but have plateaued. This was the jump start I needed. So far, I have woken up sore from both of her classes. My bootie, back, and abs are angry happy. Love it!
Patricia is knowledgeable and energetic. Her playlist is oh so sweet, and she is very good about making sure people are spaced properly in her class. I really appreciate that the work out is never the same and she makes modifications for people who cannot get up and down so quickly. Also, the class offerings work if you need an evening class.

Dr. Brian Lum is the BEST CHIROPRACTOR EVER. He’s extremely knowledgeable (top of his class if you look closely at his degrees) but you can also just tell by how much better you feel after your sessions.
I had a lot of scar tissue built up around my knee from ACL surgery. Dr. Lum has been working out the scar tissue with deep tissue massage. Dr. Lum knows exactly what needs to be done and gets the job done efficiently and artistically. He is stronngg, so you have to «man up» before you go in, lol, but trust me, it’ll be super worth it because Dr. Lum will heal you!!!
Overall staff are really friendly, helpful and great. Gym looks amazing. Great energy and there’s a super cute and fun playroom for kids. Never been happier dealing with this terrible injury/​surgery/​recovery process.

This is a review of massage services at Nu Image.
I have had a few massages by Nazaria. She is amazing. I have had many massages all over the world and Nazaria is one of the best in my opinion.
She has strong, firm hands but can taper the pressure depending on your needs. She does amazing shoulder and neck work, the best I have ever had. She finds the knots and does not stop until each is sufficiently treated. It is clear she has a passion for what she does and takes pride in her work. She employs several different techniques to work on each muscle group. It is clear that she has a skilled knowledge of anatomy which she uses to do a thorough and focused job. I always leave feeling like weeks worth of stress are lifted off of my shoulders.
More than her technique, Nazaria is a great person. She is always professional and on time and I always enjoy speaking with her. She does not speak throughout the massage and make you uptight as some therapists do. But the few words she says are always meaningful and enjoyable.
I would highly recommend Nu Image and Nazaria. Their prices are reasonable and it will be one of the best massages you have ever experienced

I came here for chiropractic after injuring my knees. Dr. Lum was great. He saw me on a biweekly the weekly basis. I noticed that my knees were recovering much quicker than before. He is very results driven (ouch with the deep tissue massage) and was very focused on sports rehabilitation. He had me back to working out very quickly. I am very thankful for Dr. Lum’s excellent work.

I’m a huge fan of this place though I don’t get to go as often as I should. The gym is spacious with plenty of new equipment to boot. It seems that someone is always keeping things clean and in order, which is important to me.
One of the main reasons I keep my membership active is the people that work here are really chill and helpful. Brian is a stand up guy and really cares how people feel within the gym.

Formerly know as the Signal Hill Athletic Club (SHAC) and recently relocated to 3351 Hill Street (Redondo & Hill).
They’re still wrapping up construction at the new location but it’s already my favorite gym in Long Beach (I’ve worked at, been a member of, or toured most of them). If I won the lottery this is what my home gym would look like.
Awesome, friendly staff, knew our names our first week there (even the personal trainers smile & say hi). Zero pressure sales. Big parking lot plus tons of street parking. 2 big roll up garage doors with fans for ventilation. Complimentary towels. On site chiropractors & massage therapist.
Tons of rehab/​prehab isolation equipment, group x room, free weights, full cardio area w/​flatscreens (and 3 brand spankin new Concept Rowers), an indoor turf area, 2 custom made push sleds, 2 farmer carry chassis, big ol tractor tires, plus it’s one of the only gyms in LB with bumper plates & Olympic lifting platforms.
Coming soon: Another full room for conditioning complete with a jungle gym for grown ups. I’ll put up pics when it’s installed.

I cannot say say enough good things about Signal Hill Athletic Center. For years, I worked out at the 24 Hour Fitness on Bellflower. This gym is the exact opposite, it’s clean, update well-​maintain equipment, not crowded, free towels, the people who workout there are friendly, the staff is helpful, and it doesn’t smell!

Nice clean Gym, with a family type environment not that big pick up joint type mega gyms where I have to wait for a machine, great personal trainers that can keep your work out going!
Chiropractor Brian Lum has also help me allot with my tweaked back. awesome chiropractor!
