Jiffy Lube

Been coming here for some time for car maintenance and have been pleased. The staff is friendly and make you feel welcome. They go about explaining what they see in a vehicle and what the recommend. It’s laid out for you on a screen with costs and timetables for when things need to be done. It’s almost like going to a doctor’s appointment for your car. I always tend to get sticker shock at the pricing, more so for what it cost to keep my car properly cared for but I wait it out in the lobby where they serve coffee with a repeating loop of Jiffy Lube TV Infomercials. The techs usually finish up at the time estimated and they always have someone hold the door open for you when you exit the building and get into your car. About as good an experience as you ca expect to find when getting work done and I’ve had no issues.

I have been a loyal Jiffy Lube customer for the past decade and have a positive opinion of the company. However the Automobile Blvd location gets my vote for the worst jiffy lube in the area. You may be wondering why I have come back to this location when I’m having such negative experiences. This location is 5-​minutes from my home but I will no longer be coming here after this recent negative experience. Here are my issues with this location:
1) Time — regardless of when I come in, I have come in at 8am, mid-​day, late afternoon, it consistently takes over an hour for the work to be completed. Today I went in for a basic oil change and the visit took 1.5 hours. You may be considering that they were busy and had a full bay of cars and customers. NOPE, it was just me and another lady in the waiting room. Speaking of the other customer, she was told that it would take 15 minutes for her car to be serviced, yet she was still in the waiting room as I left. We had a brief chat and agreed to never come to this location again.
2) Credibility Issues — This location recently added mechanic services on top of their standard oil change services. So they operate like a full auto mechanic shop, however I get the sense that they are not being truthful with their estimates of work. Today I was given three sheets of paper at the end of my 1.5 hour visit documenting additional work needed on my car. The total came to approximately $ 2,000, however the guy who cashed me out disagreed with one of the estimates and crossed out the item that cost over $ 1,000 and called the other serviceman an «idiot». Not a good sign.
3) Poor Customer Service — There are a few guys here who are pleasant and make the long wait a little better. However the majority of the staff including the head manager are not very customer service oriented. Customers are kept in the dark when there are delays in completion time, and I have had to go seek someone and ask for updates on my car. Isn’t that the responsibility of the staff? Also this location seems to cut corners. One of the perks I enjoy about coming to jiffy lube in general is that they vacuum the interior of my car. Today that didn’t happen, was there a change in policy?
Come here at your own peril. There are better Jiffy Lubes in the area. College Park, Rockville, and Germantown are three locations I have had very positive experiences. To this day I remember how wonderful my experience was at the Germantown location, and I’ve only been there once. If you don’t mind spending over an hour waiting for an oil change, and then being given inaccurate wait times, and estimates this is your place. However I choose to take my car and business to another location so I don’t continue to be fooled.

Installed the oil filter incorrectly on my vehicle during an oil change. This lead to my oil pump failing. After having the problem fixed by a real service department they refused to admit fault and own up to any other damage that could have been caused. Even though the majority of the repair was covered by my vehicles extended warranty they did not offer to compensate me for any lost time even though my vehicle was in the shop for a total of two weeks.
Stay away!!!

This jiffy lube is always fast and kind.

I needed an oil change and usually go to The Lube Center. I called and was warmly greeted by Victor who gave me pricing. I was greeted at my car by Mbella. During the inspection they pointed out issues that I knee existed and explained the whole service. I did end up needing a light which they replaced. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and for $ 30 something you can’t beat that (not including the light). Plus they top off your fluids for free in between services. Overall I’m very satisfied with the work and customer service. I will be coming here for oil changes from now on.

I have been to this Jiffy Lube several times now, and with rare exception, have been very pleased with the staff and the work. The work has been done consistently well and without issue. One thing I like is that when I asked them to do a transmission flush, they didn’t pretend to do it and then charge me. Rather, they let me know mine was a closed system and they are not set up to service this type. This is one example, there are a couple more examples similar in nature. The one exception (so minor I didn’t dock them in the stars rating) was one employee who didn’t understand that you don’t need to change oil as frequently when you use the synthetics. He was being kind of a bone head about it and said the owners manual is the bible and if it said every 3,000 miles, then that was it. I set him straight in no uncertain terms. I was sad to read of the women who left comments that had a bad experience. I am also a woman, but the staff has been consistently respectful and professional with me. I will continue to choose this Jiffy Lube when reasonably convenient.

I want to leave another review because I was impressed once again with this Jiffy Lube. Nadeem and James as well as the rest of the crew were great. Everything was explained to me and they did not try to up sell. In fact, that’s why I’m writing this second review. At first, the paperwork that was done previously said I needed my tail light was broken. I said to go ahead with the fix. When it was time to pay, Nadeem said the tail light worked fine when they checked it and there was no need for a fix so I was not charged. Usually car places are known for fudging a bit to get more money but these guys were completely honest and I was so happy with that. Once again, I love it here.

I was so impressed with the customer service I received when I went in to get my oil changed. It was raining so they met me at my car door with an umbrella to walk me to the store. The oil change was a bit expensive but I paid for the convenience. They were done in less than 15 minutes and did a very good job. I will definitely bring in my car again to Jiffy Lube. thanks!

They try and upsell you everytime. It’s annoying having to say no to airfilters every time. I don’t want you taking my damn filter out and showing it to me either. There’s a good chance they aren’t gonna put it back in correctly. Typically they do not bother with wiping the windows or the other bonus services promised in their little «packages.» Also, oil smudges all over the interior of my car? Nice touch.
They are fast as crap however, and when I’m in a hurry, I will suffer through the crappy details. They offer coupons usually, which makes it an even 50 bucks for synthetic and oil filter. Bring wet wipes to clean up the mess left by the grease monkeys and it’s not so bad.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THEM. I DON’T TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY! I woke up one morning and my battery was dead. I called roadside assistance and they gave me a jump and the guy said to go somewhere and have them check my battery. Since jiffy lube is closet to me I went there. While fixing my battery the guy tells me that my brake lights are out and I need to replace them, so I did. Then he tells me I need a coolant flush and keep pressing on it, I tell him no thanks (according to my car’s manual I need one every 30k miles or 2 years and I’m not up for one for another 6 months). I get in my car and leave. When I arrive at my destination, I’m told my brake lights are on, and then I realize my brake lights won’t shut off, so I go back to them. Well they tell me «Ma’am your car came like that to us, that’s how we knew you needed the new lights, thats probably what killed your battery.» But yet, NO ONE bothered to tell me this! I spent $ 90 on a battery I really didn’t need (my old battery was still fairly new). And then I had to spend another $ 300 to fix my brake pedal switchn

This is by far the worst car mechanic I have ever been too and regret not reading reviews beforehand. We just moved to the area and I went for an oil change. The manager was very demeaning and told me to ask my «hubby wubby «when our last car maintenance was done. Um excuse me? I take care of my own car. Because of this, and because they failed to check my headlights, rear wiper blades (both of which I had to ask them to check and replace) or wipe down the windows as promised in their ad, I will never go there again.

When I arrived, I told them not to «roll down» my window (it’s electric). Guess what. They rolled down the window. The problem? The switch is broken. In short, they could not get it back up. They somehow convinced the shop next door into fixing it, but it took over 2 hours. I got the oil change for free, but I had to spot the guy a 20 at the shop for his help.
Other than this, the oil change was much slower than the past. I go there for the speed (not the price).

Best customer communication of all Jiffy Lubes I’ve used. Very clean bathroom. Fast and thorough. Run like a small, close-​knit military crew. TV, fresh coffee, and magazines in waiting room. Hard to find: go all the way around the auto dealer loop and make last right, just before light, then go past merchants tire garage.

Always fast and excellent service. The employees are very friendly and super knowledgeable. I always leave feeling happy and confident with their work. If you need a great oil change at a reasonable price with great service, I highly suggest the Briggs Chaney Jiffy lube

NEVER go to this location. After having an oil change, I noticed a weird smell coming from my car whenever I turned on my AC or heat. A little over a week later, my battery light came on (I had replaced it 4 months before). I popped the hood and my engine was covered in brown liquid. The engine oil cap was not replaced and oil had been leaking all over my engine. I took my car back, they apologized, then cleaned the engine and filled the oil up. I got a coupon for $ 7 off my next visit. I asked why the battery light was on. They said my battery was fine and to take it to the dealership.
About an hour after dropping it off at the dealership, I received a phone call from them informing me oil was covering my alternator and it needed to be replaced for $ 550. They also informed me Jiffy Lube should pay for it since negligence on their part caused a 3 year old alternator to need replacement.
Multiple phone calls later, I have yet to hear from the owner. I’ve gotten the run around from them and keep having them tell me «the owner will call you soon, you need to relax ma’am». After the condescending tone from the last call, I told them not to bother calling me back because from this point forward, they’d be dealing with my lawyer. He seemed to find that statement amusing because he actually laughed when I said it. I’m wondering if they’d take me seriously if I wasn’t a 25 year old female… Then again, probably not.
Anyways, it’s in my lawyers hands now (I wasn’t kidding) and I will never go to this location again. In fact, I will never go to another Jiffy Lube again. The level of incompentence and unproffessionalism in dealing with this has astounded me. Avoid at all costs.

Simple and straightforward. Went in for an oil change. Called ahead, and the lady there told me the shop was not that busy, and they accept walk-​ins, so I drove right over.
The place was a little hard to find, but it’s in the middle of an auto park surrounded by car dealers, so it must be decent, right?
The oil change was quick. Maybe waited ½ hour. It was my first time there, on a snow day too, so no idea how busy it gets.
Go to
beforehand to check if they’re running any specials. I did, and found a $ 5 off coupon. So that was handy.
Staff was courteous. Overall, not bad. Would go again.
