Kia of Silver Spring

This is our second experience with Jim Coleman Kia, and they truly have blown us away with their professionalism. This past time, we bought an almost exact replica of the car we are currently leasing. We love our Kia Sportage, so we decided to get another one. Eugene worked his butt off to get us the best deal he could… he was never pushy, never rude, never gave us that «car dealership» creepiness. He was great! And Theo… he also worked his butt off to get us a better interest rate to help us close the deal. Needless to say, we walked out of there as new car owners and with smiles on our faces!
We’ve been to a few other dealerships — Nissan (just to name one) just around the corner from Kia — and it was a hellish experience. The sales team was terrible, people were lurking around each and every corner, listening in on conversations. It was awful. We high tailed it out of Nissan and went straight to Kia, where we were greeted by their awesome team. They’re all great, and they keep us coming back. Go to Jim Coleman Kia… you won’t be disappointed in the whole car buying experience!

Every time I come to this place, I am unhappy. The service department refuses to help in any way and the first response is always, «no.» This will be my last time coming here. Do yourself a favor, go to the Kia in Rockville or in Laurel, instead!

The staff at this auto dealership is both professional and not over bearing. Jim Coleman Kia is the best place to purchase a vehicle. The sales people and warranty cannot be beat by any other dealership. This is where I was able to test drive the 2016 V6 Sorento and find what a fabulous SUV this is. When I’m ready to purchase, this is the only place I will go.

This place doesn’t even deserve a one star rating! After buying the car and signing papers I had to return to completely redo the papers because they got them wrong. After this they never gave me the free car wash or full tank of gas that was promised. My car now has a bad odor when running air conditioning and when trying to get car in to get that fixed and an oil change was told to come in when they opened and they would be able to work us in if we got there early. So on my day off I drove from DC to silver spring and they said we don’t have the staff today to work us in and they turned me away! THIS PLACE HAS HE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH A CAR DEALERSHIP! You have been warned!

Just bought a Kia minivan. Never thought I would buy a minivan but I’m at a place in my life where I need one. This Kia Sedona I got is amazing! Eugene Kim was my sales guy and he answered all my questions about the van and was able to further explain all the bells & whistles that I was not aware of. He was easy going and it was a no pressure experience. He had all the answers to my safety questions and made the overall experience efficient & enjoyable! Theo Langston was my finance guy & he was peppy, informed, friendly and straight forward. He crunched the numbers to fit my budget and had several creative solutions as options to have me walk out with my brand new minivan! Greg Lacina was the finance guy at the very end and usually these guys have no personality and the process is lengthy and stressful. Greg got my paperwork ready and explained in a timely fashion and had a great personality to make the experience pleasant.

My wife and I bought a 2013 Kia Optima, a very good looking car, but we have had problem after problem and their service team could care less. We have been having issues with her radio going in and out and after 3 visits they finally replaced it. Oh, with a used one from another car. I know this because my wife Sirus account wasnt working and when we called, Sirus told us the radio we had belonged to another account! they took the radio from another car! Terrible. The radio still not working right. Now my wife is now having issues with her Panoramic Sunroof. we took it to the dealer Wednesday Night and dropped it off. They had our car all day to work on it. Not even a hour after their shop open i get a call saying the roof is working. Mind you my car was there ALL DAY FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE UNTIL 4PM THURSDAY EVENING! I pick up the car and it is working. Nice! only for a few hours. It stopped working again, hours after they so called fixed it. Needless to say we are PISSED! My wife goes back down there today and the technicians knew there was a problem as soon as she pulled up. Once we tell them the roof isnt working again and they come to verify it, he tells us, oh, can you wait we have to run some diagnostics! WHAT!!! you had our car ALL DAY AND NEVER RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO EVEN SEE IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM. So again my wife and I are inconvenienced because these guys dont want to do their JOB! Very unhappy customer! We were about to trade the car in for a new one, but we will NOT buy anything else from that dealership! if you need work done on your car, Kia of Silver Spring is the worst and they can care less about us… THE CUSTOMER.

I have bought many cars over the years and have come to the conclusion that there are high integrity dealers that truly want to please you then there are the dealers who never quite evolved from the horse trader days. You know what I am talking about. My 70+ year old mom said she wanted to buy a new car and needed help. I was glad to help her. She had done a good bit of investigating the Ford Focus and decided to buy one of those but we couldn’t find the color/​features she wanted.
Make a long story less long she test drove all the mid-​sized cars out there and I suggested she test drive the Kia Optima at Kia of Silver Spring. She did and really liked it. Kia of Silver Spring was convenient to her. Malick the sales rep was knowledgeable and laid back. When it came time to the negotiation phase we just got a great price right off the bat and they gave great value for the trade in. Terry the manager is great. Kia of Silver Spring is part of the Jim Coleman family of dealers and I had always heard great things about Jim Colemen. They were true. I would recommend Kia of Silver Spring.

I went there to have my Kia Borrego serviced for a recall. It was very easy to make an appointment. They had it done in less time than they had told me and they were very friendly and helpful.

Just an FYI I was certainly not impressed with the level of service that I received today. I got a flat tire on Friday brought it in on Saturday morning at 10am after calling ahead and scheduling an appointment. Once I got there they said they had no record of my appointment. I spoke with Mike on the phone but it was never put on the schedule apparently. After waiting three hours I was told that the tire would have to be replaced. I was then told it was not in stock, that they could fix it on Monday. I was then told that since it was past 12 that they could not get me to a car rental place and since I liver close to 20 miles away I would have to leave my car, cancel all of my events for the day. Cancel all my events on Sunday, miss an entire day of work on Monday. I preceded to start the long an painful walk home (Yes 20 miles is painful) and walked into the Merchants Tire next to the Kia dealer only to find out that they had the tire that I needed for my car, the same size and the same brand (Hankook 205÷45÷15) in stock. I called back but low and behold the service department was closed, and no one could assist me. I just got home after this horrible ordeal and I have no idea even how I am going to pick up my car. The car is less than two months old, I bought the car NEW fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. The least I would have expected was for someone to offer to drive me and my wife home. Yes, I had to walk home 20 miles with my wife. They did not even bother offering to call a taxi or anything. Sales are great good at selling but your service department needs to learn a lot about how to treat a customer. You cant just strip away every mode of transportation and offer no help or assistance after I just dropped close to 20 grand two months earlier that is just insane!!!

When i bought a car, of course, they were very kind and friendly, but when i went there to change oil and some things, they were not the same people anymore. They tried to overcharge me and made me wait for more than an hour even tough i made an appointment. Changing oil takes more than an hour???

Came in for service on my 2010 kia forte koupe… low tire pressure light came on. Not very welcoming… acted as if I was inconviencing him to check out my tire. Wont be coming back for anything.

Thank you KIA of Silver Spring for working with me and finding the car I wanted. You’ve tried diligently to work with what I demanded and made almost all my demands except for the removal of the rear spoiler. Not a problem. Surely, you’ve tried to find the car I wanted, Forte SX Koup 2011, and managed the best you can. Please keep up with the honest sales deals and KNOW THAT you are referred to when people asked me where/​how I got this car. Please don’t resort to unscrupulous sales tactics which many buyers out there actually understand the hardships and competition towards your job. You guys do make a difference to alot of people who’ve purchased your cars from your dealership. I hope this review is read by many and give them a chance or maybe a 2^nd chance. I hope you, the reviewer, will give them 30min-​1 hr of your time, after doing a little research on the price of the KIA you want. Reviewer, I’m sure you want to know if I got a good deal or not… I’m not telling because that works against the sales family. Everyone is trying to make a living. Do your part in the research and bargaining. I’m telling you, KIA of Silver springs does «try» to meet the lowest price range advertised in edmunds or autotraders, etc. If they can’t meet it, then they offer «extra features» to make up for the difference. Honestly, you get what you want to pay for. It works boths way, low price, not as much features or even MECHANICAL enhancements. I’m a mechical engineer btw and certain mechanical enhancements between the different trims of the models does make a huge difference in driving and reliability of the car.

We just bought a 2011 Kia Sorento, and the service at the Silver Spring dealership is amazing! Our salesman Armin was extremely thorough, and patient with us. He even drove the final paperwork to my job because I couldn’t leave to go to the dealership and sign! The sales manager Laura was awesome. She really shared in our excitement and made us feel great about our purchase. Not only is Kia a great value, but the folks at Silver Spring are worth visiting! Thanks for the great buying experience!
