Lalu’a Nails and Spa

I like this place and the few encounters I had before today, but the woman I had today irritated my soul! I don’t think she spoke that much English that’s fine. Moving on I asked for a spa pedicure she just seemed the least bit attentive and did the minimum! The massage even sucked. Right after she finished my feet she immediately turned off the power to the massage chair and pointed me towards the nail drying station. It’s a Thursday afternoon and not busy at all. Every time I come the ladies let me sit in the chair and tell me to relax. Then while my feet are still drying she comes and tells me to «pay now» (mind you I haven’t even been under here for 3 mins before she tells me to pay.) I always pay when I’m leaving and I tip more than I should, but not today. No tip. Thank you for what I paid for. That’s all.

Im happy with my nails done. I paid $ 50 for regular pedicure and gel manicure plus nail design. That’s why its not 5stars because it hurts a little a little bit while she’s doing my nails. But other than that i like the nail polish and the design.

Jack did an amazing job. I went to the nail spa because of the many positive Unilocal reviews. They did not disappoint. Great customer service, great atmosphere, great prices and great job on my nails. As of my first visit, I already made my next appointment. Looking forward to my visit. Excited about becoming a regular client. High recommendations!

Went back for a second fill in with this set Nina put on previously. Johnny did my nails this time AND HE IS BOMB! Blessed my hands and did an impeccable job. Johnny and Nina are on my list for great nail techs for sure.
Btw, the ambiance in there is so relaxing.

I thought I had found a place to do my nails after
I moved. Nina hooked up my eyebrows and did my nails. I got a gel manicure but it started chipping less than a week after she did them. Very unhappy with the service, since this should have lasted two weeks. If their wasn’t a blizzard outside I would have gone back there to have them redo it.

I came for the mani pedi deal ($ 25). As my nail technician was cutting my cuticles, she ripped my skin and I bled profusely. This sometimes happens and I understand. However, the way she treated the blood was unacceptable. She continued to paint with the base coat, color and top coat on the torn skin. So feasibly my blood is in their nail polish color. Make sure to bring your own colors to this place!

Love. Love. Love. Just come. Jack is amazing. So kind and experienced. I’ve found my new place for getting my nails done.

My two favorite people here are Jack and Sophia. I’ve had Jack once, but he spoke English well, asked me my preferences without assuming, and carried a wonderful conversation. He did my nails for the holiday season which turned out beautiful. Unfortunately he is also in school, so it’s hard to catch him. I’ve had Sophia twice now. She is VERY efficient. Both times I’ve had her she has taken her time to make sure I am relaxed and my nails look perfect. If you’re looking for a relaxing pedicure, she’s your girl. Because she takes her time she isn’t the right person if you’re in a rush, but I’m never in a rush when I go, so it doesn’t matter to me.
I recommend this place to all my friends. Give it shot!

Still loving this place! It’s been almost a year since I started coming. Swann is no longer here but I often rotate between Khoi, Jack, and Jessica! Still clean and calm environment, but I must say its getting busier and busier as the months go by!

Got a mani/​pedi for $ 25, lip and brow wax plus bikini. Satisfied with all the services. About 90 min for everything, on an empty tuesday lunch hour.
My only 2 minor quibbles — the person who did my brows got right into it without a chance to discuss what I wanted. She left them thick, as requested, but if we had chatted for a second I would have requested a pronounced arch, but ended up with a less angular look than i would have preferred.
Second quibble — had an amazing bikini waxing service, high quality, not painful, and attention to detail. My only minor issue is the inclusion of areas outside the bikini zone and only mentioning a charge for them later. Granted i am happy with all the services, the charges were super reasonable and I would definitely come back again. It’s just some places throw in the happy trail at no charge, some places go further than the bikini because you clearly need it (i did) but then charge them as separate products. I just think if you get the point where you are charging for an additonal service it would be nice to get the heads up before hand. Still great experience overall and will def be back!

Absolutely amazing place, a little hidden gem. I am completely in love with my nails and it didn’t break the bank either, what more could I ask for? I left feeling happy and can’t wait to go again. I didn’t get my design done by Khoi but the other guy (who I didn’t catch his name) did an amazing job as well.

Johnny and Khoi are the Nail Slayers!!! I don’t exactly like chit chatting especially cause I get really sleepy while getting my nails done. Idk if it’s the filing, filling or the smells, but the pampering makes me so sleepy and the end results are always perfect. I bite my nails so I keep acrylic on them and honestly I would love to keep this gem a secret cause I love them so much, but these guys are amazing. I feel like even though we don’t talk much they’re still cool and I still call them my friends. And the best part is I’m a young just out of college girl and they don’t make guilty when I can’t tip them as much as I’d like. They do an amazing job worth a really good tip, but I’m just broke! I’d love to be like «take my money» but student loans are taking it.

Love! OK, first off I want you to understand that I am extremely picky when it comes to my nails so the fact that I gave five stars is huge even for me.
Ask for Dee, he did my nails. He gave me great advice and recommended a service that would be better for me even though it was $ 10 cheaper than the service I asked for. They want you to come back, so they treat you like a person and really care about your nails and how you feel about them. My nails came out 100 times better than the last place I went to. This will definitely be my permanent nail salon.
(I asked for no nail polish so I could put on my own that I just got at home, so that’s why there’s no polish on them)

I am on the search for a great nail salon in Silver Spring and I saw reviews for this place and wanted to check it out. The space is clean and parking is free which is really nice because in the past I have had to pay for parking. The salon is located in a small shopping mall area in Wheaton. This was my first time so I was not sure who I should schedule an appointment with and it seems that the owner assigns appointments to his staff to keep everyone busy. I came early on a Saturday and there were maybe 2 – 3 other people there so it was really slow.
As for as my nails, I am not sure how I feel about them. It wasn’t a bad job but it wasn’t a great job either. It has been a week and my cuticles are already looking like they need help again and the gel is starting to come up on the sides. The hand massage that I was given after my nails were polished was really bad and rushed although there were no other people there. And the guy who did my nails kept reprimanding me for pulling out the filed nail debris from under my nails which was annoying because he didn’t remove it.
All in all, I wanted to like this place because it isn’t too far from downtown Silver Spring and the prices are really nice but I wasn’t impressed. Maybe it is a matter of getting the right person to do your nails. I don’t know!

I’m still in love with Lalu’a! I’d highly recommend them. I’m never disappointed and I’ve been there several times. Today I had Nina. She was very sweet, attentive, and patient. She took her time giving me my mani and pedi and I appreciated it.

Wow this place is awesome! The customer service here is spectacular. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The place is spacious and most importantly CLEAN.
I went in for a fill for my gel nails and Janetty did a great job :) Be sure to see her, she only works Mon thru Wed. Worth it!!!

Khoi and his team took amazing care of us. It was the best experience we have ever had at a nail salon!!! Professional, friendly, and priced perfectly. I was amazed with the end result and I will not be going anywhere else. This is the best salon in the DC MD area hands down.

Ok so I guess I’ll share my mini-​vacation secret with you. It’s right in the heart of Wheaton.
Khoi and his wife Nancy provide amazing service and do a perfect job on my pedi and gel mani EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have brought friends here and they never fail to impress everyone!
First of all, their new salon is beautiful! Gorgeous high ceilings and modern deco. Super sleek and relaxing. Not to mention the huge comfy massage chairs they have for the pedis.
Second, they truly provide the best customer service ever. Everyone is super sweet and caring. Not to mention very efficient. They take the time to know your name and go the extra mile for you.
Third, the quality of work here is tremendous. They are true perfectionists and work really hard to make you feel and look good. I’ve never had an issue with chipping, uneven paint, nada.
Overall, Lalu’a sets the bar in a city full of mediocre places. They are my definite go to place!
Tips: busy shopping center but has free parking. They accept credit card.
