My recollections of this restaurant were rather good, though I haven’t been here in quite a while. But today I was quite disappointed. If you go to a restaurant with«Szechuan» in its name and you order a dish named«Szechuan sliced beef,» you expect a dish with a lot of peppery spice in it.(I think they even put a picture of a pepper in the menu next to the name of the dish, but I’m not certain.) Today’s order was not exactly tasteless, but was more the way a chef who figured that nobody with a European face could appreciate a spicy dish might prepare it. And unfortunately, unlike some other restaurants, even some that aren’t even supposed to specialize in Szechuan(Sichuan) cooking, there isn’t even a container of red pepper-infused oil on the table to perk it up. there aren’t a lot of restaurants near the Glenmont Metro station, but if you are there and want a good meal, I’d say take a Y bus to Wheaton or a C8 bus to White Flint where you’ll find a lot better choices.

I really enjoyed their General Tsos chicken, so much that I came back three more times for it, got food poisoning today, ended up vomiting after five hours of stomach pain. You can take your chances, Im not going to anymore.

The service was super quick — I think about 30 mins — and the orange chicken was great!

I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so until I move out of Montgomery County. I’ve tried all Chinese places in the area(20906) and this one is the BEST! My family usually orders General Tso, Combination LoMein and fried rice, all for delivery. Food always arrives in a decent timeframe, but most importantly fresh and HOT!

Was my favorite Chinese spot for years, still is «OK», but feel like the distinct Szechuan flavor is dummied down. Nice family run business, good service. The place could probably use an aesthetics upgrade.

I have been eating/ordering from this place for more than 15 years. The food is great! And for portions are wonderful! The restaurant could use some upkeep/remodeling. But overall a great experience. The food is great and they have good service!

Nothing special. Portions are huge so be careful. When ordering fried rice the carrots weren’t cut, sloppy job.

Their pork fried rice is the best I’ve found in the whole DMV area! Their food tastes great, and comes in giant portions. This is my favorite Chinese take out place.

This place is amazing. The general Tsos is to die for, huge portions, great friendly service. They don’t have a lot of restaurants like this anymore. It has been around a long time and I hope it remains in business for a long time to come.

I go back and forth about this place. There are some thing they do very well and some things aren’t so good. I am not a fan of their eggrolls. They are overly greasy and I find myself falling asleep after eating them and waking up with crumbs and grease smeared on my face. The general tsao chicken is legit. The portions are really, really big. The last time I ordered from here I had food for a few days. Which is saying a lot of you know me irl because I can eat my ass off.

Try their chicken steamed dumplings. Moving from Boston, which has amazing dumpling joints, to the MD area was a change in many ways. Although this place isn’t amazing, these dumplings tend to hit the spot. The rest of their menu items are pretty decent, standard«Chinese» food. They also use a healthier cooking style which I also appreciate. I’m giving them two stars because one thing that drives me absolutely nuts is that they always forget to send utensils or chopsticks with delivery orders this has happened a few times already. It’s not really a problem if you’re getting food delivered at home. However, once I got it delivered at work because I was there late. I ended up eating dumplings with a plastic knife I had laying around and the soup, well… I just stared at… The driver’s response was, «You should have asked for utensils.» –_–

The Szechuan Palace is a bit like the Nick’s Diner of Chinese restaurants. This place is not fancy but the prices are reasonable and the food is always good. We have been regular customers at both places for years. A few years ago they had a chef who used the same tired brown sauce on almost everything. That did not last long, fortunately, and for the past year or two the food has been excellent again. The portions are quite large and there is usually plenty left over to take home. There does not seem to be a dedicated wait staff any more. Much of their business is carry-out so there are not so many occupied tables. If you like good Chinese food check out the Szechuan Palace. This is not a majestic red place with gold dragons and a fancy menu. It is a great place for good food at a good price. Besides, many of the fancy dragon places are elegant but their food is not that good.

When you are looking for good chinese food in the Glenmont area this is your place. Tasty food, good size portions, reasonable prices, what more could you really ask for from a hole in the wall chinese food place? Don’t let the décor turn you off. The staff is friendly, the food is high quality, and you will leave satisfied.

The food here is exceptional! I’ve eaten their food for years. The restaurant is ok too. My favorite dishes here are: Combination Fried Rice, Moo Shi Chicken, Double Cooked Pork, and Fried Dumplings. I take out all the time, and have never been disappointed.

I didn’t expect to be back so soon. LOL But my bf loved the hunan pork so we ended up getting some for lunch today. It was just as good as it was the first time around. Oh and I was able to take a picture of it this time before we devoured it. :) I decided to try the chicken wings with fries & mumbo sauce. The chicken wings were big! In addition, they were flavorful and I like how they don’t dip them in batter before frying them. I think soon enough, they’ll start recognizing my phone # when I call.

I have regularly ordered delivery from here over the past 8 years. However, the last time I ate their food, it made me sick. So, it’s been awhile. The other day I was craving Peking Duck, so I decided to take another chance. The Peking Duck isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it’s not bad.(I’ve eaten it in Beijing.) I also ordered the Singapore Noodles. That was pretty good. They do give you generous portions for the price. My craving for Peking Duck was satiated.

Their quantity, flavor, and quality is awesome. Its not a place to go for a date but if you want the best chinese food around there is nothing better. Hands down the best food ever. For $ 10 they give you combination fried rice enough for 3 adults. Its awesome. Im giving 4 stars as they could improve the lighting and the ambiance inside the restaurant. but given the location people are more likely to take away the food so i do get why they dont focus on it, but it wuld be a nice touch. fresh paint, new stuff, nicer door, you know a little bit of dressing up the wonderful food. Cheers

HORRIBLE… HORRIBLE… HORRIBLE!!! Ok, wait, I forget to tell you how HORRIBLE this place is… I can only speak for the Lo Mein — When I picked up my order of Lo Mein, I thought I had CAMEUP! They filled it up so full that they couldn’t even close the package & they wrapped saran wrap around it to keep it together. I COULDNOTWAIT to get home to dig in! I just KNEW that was going to be awesome. Finally got home, heavily anticipating the Lo Mein that had my mouth watering for the last 20 minutes on the ride home. Got a fork & a plate and began scooping the lo mein out on the plate.(It was still hot!) Opened my mouth, took a bite… ****MYHOPESCRASHEDINMOMENTS**** It was the absolute WORST lo mein I had ever had in my life. I had eaten overcooked roman noodles(3/$ 1) that tasted like Gourmet 5 star cuisine in comparison to this mess. I mean, I’m really not trying to be funny, but I wouldn’t have given this stuff to my dog. Maybe their other dishes are better, but in my book, I must declare this place an… #EPICFAIL! I feel I have a duty to my fellow Unilocalers to give them the heads up on dishes like this, so they don’t have to waste their cash & go to bed hungry like I did! I suffered, so you don’t have to! You’ve been warned!

I just got my lunch special(general tso’s Chicken with wonton soup for $ 6.21 out the door). The fried rice doesn’t have any vegetables or eggs in it! Also, wonton soup doesn’t have meat in the wonton. Good thing was the flavor of the General Tso’s. I’ll give it another try. Thank you.
