If you take the train ride from Silverton to here, you’ll quickly realize that there really isn’t much to do 9,200 feet above sea level. That being said, you’ll probably be hungry and this is the best place to eat lunch at. I had the pulled pork and slaw sandwich and it was very tasty. The vibes inside are warm, rustic, and cozy with a lot of neat colorful things to look at(mostly pig themed art and puns). Restroom is clean and easily accessible . Service is quick fast and reliable. The quality is definitely there and you’ll leave with a warm well fed belly.

We had read some great and some less-so reviews for Thee Pitts Again so we decided to taste for ourselves. So glad we weren’t led astray by some nay-sayers — our pulled pork sandwich and smoked turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy were scrumptious. Large servings and friendly service. We will definitely go there again when we pass through!

I’m from Texas and I know better than to eat BBQ outside of Texas, but since this place was featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, I figured I’ve give it a try since there aren’t many choices in Silverton. I was not impressed… ATALL. The brisket was not smoked and the turkey was just meh. Plus, we were very rushed us at the counter and the owner seemed put out by my questions. I’m not sure how this place gets so much hype. Pretty sure their«pit» is an oven.

Their fries were the best thing on the menu. Brisket, pulled pork and turkey were DRY! Nothing tasted BBQ or smoked. It all tasted like they baked in the oven and then microwaved it the next day. And way over priced. We seen their sign about Guy Fieri stopping here and complimenting them on their turkey. We have stopped in a lot of places that Guy has and they have been GREAT! I have no idea what Guy Fieri was talking about this place. My husband ordered the Guy special and it was dry and tough. Nobody ate their food. So basically $ 100 went into the trash. We were better off picking up some fast food over this place.

We were supprised how good it was being in a tourist town. It’s a little pricy for what you get, but everything is here. Would eat here again.

Not the best BBQ I’ve had, but for Silverton it most likely won’t get any better. Had pulled pork sandwich(4*), the beef brisket(3*) and the ribs(4*) The sides are what dragged the score down. Beans tasted like something out of a can. And the mashed potatoes tasted like KFC But in Silverton, it would be one of my go to places

I am from Texas and am pretty particular about my BBQ. I have to admit this is some of the best BBQ I have eaten anywhere. Prices are vacation prices for food and should be expected. You will not leave this place disappointed at the end of the meal. There is good sized portions of fabulous food. We come to Silverton regularly and always make it a point to eat here.

A must stop if you’re in town. We stopped by on the way in and it was closed, so double check before you go. The second time through we stopped and picked up the best BBQ ribs and pulled pork we had ever had. We took it to go and it was delicious!

Where to begin. This little gem is tucked away in the small mining town of Silverton Colorado. When you walk into the restaurant, you see the walls covered in trophies from winning BBQ competitions. My wife and I went to this restaurant and split two meals. I had the pulled pork sandwich and added jalapeños to it. The sauce that came on it was magnificent. I ended up buying a bottle of it for 4 bucks. Wow the sauce only contained 5 ingredients. Normally when you look at BBQ sauce in the stores it is covered with ingredients you have no idea what they are. My sides were cornbread and potato salad. The corn break came with honey butter and melted in your mouth. My wife had the hot, open, faced turkey sandwich. It came with mashed potatoes on it as well. I felt like I was sitting down to thanksgiving diner, when I took a bite. If you come to silverton you must check this place, out.

We rode into town on the second train. All the restaurants were extremely busy. Thee Pitts got us in and out in no time even though they were busy too. I had pulled pork. It was great. The potato salad was homemade and delicious. My husband had the chicken and he really liked it. The sausage was just ok, that is the only meat that we had that we might not recommend over the rest. Now let’s talk cornbread. They have the best cornbread and they serve it with a little tub of honey butter. Oh my gosh. It was awesome. I also had the bread pudding and it was pretty good as well but I wished I would have tried the peach cobbler.

Very poor quality food with low standards. Beef brisket was not fresh and tasted like beef with nitrates. Macaroni and cheese is literally a.50 cents box of Kraft. Yes. Kraft Mac n cheese!!! In a restaurant. How embarrassing. I was completely shocked. I don’t know about you, but when I go out to eat at a restaurant I expect that they might actually cook up something creative or original. Not open a box, mix some water, microwave, throw it on a plate and hand you a plastic fork and spoon. That is the summary of this place. I wouldn’t be surprised if the«baked beans» were simply a can of bush’s best beans. None of us, including my 2 year old, could finish eating our meal the food was so bad — despite the amount of money we spent. I would have had more fun taking $ 50 and setting it on fire. Actually after leaving this restaurant I had to stop at the gas station to get a bag of peanuts and chip’s, both of which were better food than this restaurant. Update from the Owner: You have a lot of nerve writing the review you did on Unilocal.I have been in the resturant business for over 40 years and have won over 300 awards on our BBQBECAUSE we use only quality meats. And there is always one or two family members in our busineess to make sure our quality is kept high. You oviously do not know much about smoked meats, so you should not do reviews on them acting like you do. You said our beef was not fresh also tasting like it had nitrates in it. For your information Friday(5⁄22) was our first day open for this season. The beef you had just came out of the smoker FRESH, we had opened at 11 an you came in at 2. Three hours you can not get anymore fresh than that. As far as nitrates; nitrates are used to in competition cooking to enhance the flavor for the simple purpose off winning, not in our resturant. Yes we use Kraft Mac and cheese and NEVER had an issue with that. We used to have both Kraft and homemade Mac and cheese and the kids have always chose the Kraft. The Mac and cheeses are specifically for children as stated on the menu. I had came to your table and talked to you stating at least five times that I would gladly replaced our food as well as your child’s, and you had refused. The other table that you had made a negative comment to about our food summed it up very well. «A person buys a product or service and is not happy with the outcome they should tell the business. If the business offers to correct the problem(as we did) and the customer refuses to except, then problem is no longer the business, it is with the person. You had also stated tha the four of you could not finish your meals, because it was so bad. Why would you make an commet like that when clearly your wife and her father had finished, and you had ate at least half. You also stated that your two year old did not finish, a lot of two year olds do not even eat a third of their food. Unilocal can be a good tool for people who are looking for services they need. It is people like you that screw it up by not giving correct or false information on a business, to make them look bad. Roger l. Wagner(owner). My response: Just because you do no like the content of my review does not mean I should not write one. I felt your restaurant deserved special attention because; honestly, it is quite especially bad. As far as the quality of your food. The quality of the food in your restaurant can only be as good as the worst dish you may serve. In this case. Kraft Mac and Cheese. I have been eating out in restaurants for over 30 years, and I have NEVER seen a restaurant be so lazy as to just serve noodles out a box. Your host explained to me that this is because Children«do not like regular mac and cheese» I DONOTBELIEVETHIS for one second. Take any child and put a hot bowl of noodles dripping in quality cheese and another bowl of KRAFT with watered down sauce with food coloring. I know exactly which one the children will eat. The truth is more simple: Children do not complain about their food and are easy targets to rip off, and you are too cheap to serve real mac and cheese. The fact that your Host offered to replace my food and I turned down a new dish goes to show that I had very little faith that the next dish would be any better; therefore, why should I bother? If you serve Mac and cheese from a box in the back, why should I expect that you might have a higher standard of food service to show me? You just showed me your best effort! I even asked my fellow diners what they thought of their meals, so as to make sure I was not being unjust or harsh. They agreed the food was not good. We all ordered a different dish. Brisket, Mac n Cheese, pulled pork, and sausage links. So we had a variety to see. One bad dish is understandable, but four bad dishes and this is no longer an anomaly — it is the norm.

For some reason, I always think small mountain towns should have good barbecue. Silverton in particular needs it, as there’s really not much going on there in the way of food. Thee’s, with its historic digs with an eye-catching pink exterior, seemed like it should fit the bill. They have another location in Glendale, AZ, which was featured on an episode of Diners, etc.(more on that later). The interior has the appropriate rustic, mountain town feel that most Silverton restaurants have. The food, however, was very hit-and-miss. I liked the pulled pork. That was the big winner for me. It was not oversauced like a lot of places tend to do, which is especially good considering their sauce was way too vinegary for my taste. The potato salad was also pretty good, and the baked beans were tasty. The ribs, on the other hand, were some of the worst I’ve had. They were tough and dry, not fall-off-the-bones tender like ribs should be. It was an ordeal just trying to get the meat off my plate and into my mouth. They also seemed like they were overcooked, or possibly even reheated. It was actually a bit of a shock how bad the ribs were; I was just not expecting that. Now, for hit-and-miss food, I’d usually give a place three stars, but what killed it for me was Triple D. You see, they have a television in the restaurant which has episodes of Guy Fieri, blathering on with his usual obnoxiousness, on loop. The last thing I want to hear when I’m eating is that blowhard, whose Times Square restaurant is one of the worst I have tried(and where, incidentally, I also had some really bad, possibly reheated ribs). This is the guy who visits a run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant in Phoenix, and lauds its authenticity(«If a place serves menudo, you know it’s authentic!» — no, Guy, even the least authentic restaurant in the world, the one next door to Thee’s in Silverton, has menudo on the menu) in one breath and mentioned in the next that they serve chimichangas. Idiot, chimichangas were invented in Arizona! A bit of a tangent, but my point is, I cannot stand Guy Fieri, and plastering his stupid name everywhere is a good way to ruin a place for me. So, really, this place is one I’d probably visit again in Silverton(for lack of better options) were it not completely ruined by the show. It’s one thing to be proud of the fact that they were on the show, but it’s now basically a Guy Fieri-themed amusement park ride.

Bottomline: Get the pork! We ate here two nights in a row. The cashier delivered our food trays to us on both occasions. On Saturday, we shared onion rings and each got a Light Eaters dinner meal(meat, 1 side, and cornbread). The onion rings were served hot and freshly fried in a housemade batter. My brisket was tasty enough, but it wasn’t as good as the husband’s pulled pork, which was delicious. Both of our sides were served in cute little cups — my side of mashed potatoes was chunky and comforting, while the husband’s beans were standard and saucy. The cornbread was a little better than average and not bad. On Sunday, we shared fried pickles, which were just as good as the onion rings. This time I went with the pork ribs and the husband got the ¼ chicken(same sides). It was all very good and filling, but I liked my ribs better than the chicken. My conclusion is that the PORK entrees are the real stars of TPA. Surprisingly there weren’t many people on either day at 6PM on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Other customers began to finally stream in steadily around 6:30PM, but it still wasn’t terribly busy. A staff member came by twice on both evenings to check up on us and remove empty plates. The menu is up on a large chalkboard behind the ordering desk. I liked that they had tables available for large groups, and smaller tables up front. The walls are lined with aprons from past BBQ competitions and gatherings. The bathrooms are small, but they’re clean with good water pressure. Overall, it’s very casual and you’d fit right in being sweaty and dusty. I’m not a BBQ connoisseur, but overall I thought Thee Pitts Again was good, very friendly, and met our needs!

Try the pulled pork and beer battered fries — you will not be sorry. Easy to get in and out. Food came quickly and was absolutely fresh and delicious. The pulled pork was as tender as I have ever had. Also tried the beef brisket. Was delicious too. Beans were smokey and savory. Great little find in Silverton!

Here’s the short version of my experience here: Cornbread was really dry Brisket was dry and showed no sign of having been smoked(visually or taste wise) Pork ribs were moist and flavorful though. 4 stars for this one item. Overall a disappointment And not to be missed is the Endless loop of Guy Fieri reminding us that he liked one of the owners other restaurants at one point.

Great BBQ joint, friendly staff and quick service. They were welcoming when we pulled in at 7:30pm, 30 minutes before they closed and didn’t try to push us to leave when they flipped the sign. I personally don’t like to go to restaurants just before they close, my mother was in the service industry; and these people want to go home to. But we didn’t have any other options for dinner and they we’re more than accommodating.

In the one horse town of Silverton, CO, you only have so many options when it comes to choosing the perfect dinner eatery. Despite it’s small size, it packs a punch, with businesses like Three Pitt’s Again bbq that have been featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Our appetites were small but we couldn’t resist the bright pink fascade of the building paired up with a pink delivery van shouting«featured on Food Network!» Unlike many other bbq joints, Three Pitt’s Again offers smaller servings for those who are not in the mood to bust a gut. I opted for the light meal option which comes with one meat(I HIGHLY suggest the pulled pork — as originally recommended to me by the employee at the counter — some of the best I’ve ever had), along with one side(standard fixins available like bbq beans, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, etc.) and a slice of cornbread with butter(the only thing I was missing was a drizzle of honey!). My partner-in-crime opted for the chili which she said leaned on the heavier side but was equally tasty. Meals range from $ 10-$ 15. Overall, this is a great establishment for family’s seeking a hearty, casual dinner served in a charming environment.

Great BBQ! Quick service. Not a sit-down restaurant. You order at the counter, then grab a table and they’ll bring your chow to you. We shared a table with a family and had a great chat along with our food. super fun and great food! What more can you ask for?

BEST smoked turkey and mashed potatoes… ribs are great too! BBQ sauce is unique… good, just unique. .has more of a tang than we’re used to… but still good! :) only four stars because of the lack of coke products and the restrooms were on the shabby side of life.. Definitely would return though! :)
