Courtyard Marriott

Check in was pleasant as the clerk was nice but new she said. She knew her job though and didn’t take long getting me a room. The room is nice with a balcony overlooking the parking lot with lots of trees. AC is not the best as I was constantly hot and humid. TV is directv but only about 35 channels or so. Has wifi but I never use public wifi so can’t say how it was. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was decent. Wish the towels we’re softer and a bit larger. The towel I had felt worn out and liked the soft feel so it kind of hurt to dry off with it. Never could here sounds in the hallway which was very nice. Price at 130 was above what I would expect, but was the rate for AAA/​Vereran/​USAA. I would say 90 is more appropriate for it. Chose the hotel thanks to Unilocal reviews of this and the other nearby hotels.

I stayed at this hotel two nights with family and friends. The hotel has swiming pool, whirlpool and a fire pit right next to each other. There is also a small gym right before the door exit to the pool. Two of the rooms had full size beds and one had an extra sofa bed. They have a table under the desk that fits nicely between the beds and can be used for eating in the room by at least four people. It has comfortable mattresses and desk chair. There is also an ironing board and iron, coffee maker and coffee, small refrigerator, large tv with several good channels, enough lamps and lights, radio/​alarm, and ice maker and soda machine outside. By the office they keep fresh water with ice and cups and several newspapers for free. There are several restaurants sharing the same psrking lot with the hotel. At least three of those restaurants are Asian style. We ate at the sushi restaurant and it happened to be one of the most inexpensive sushi restaurants I ever dined in. They also have an all day lunch special for about $ 8. The hotel is also just past walmart. Every door can be accessed with your room key including the gym and additional outside door exits.
On the negative side, one of the rooms we rented had a toilet problem the second night. We called the front desk and within a few minutes a staff member showed up with a toilet snake to try to fix it. It turns out another roon next door was having the same problem. But the problem had been caused in the second floor. The staff was very accomadating and allowed family members in one room to use the bathroom in an unoccupied room so that we could check out on time by noon.

Mostly awesome! Clean, well maintained, well equipped with a fridge, coffee maker, blow dryer and iron/​ironing board, beds were extremely comfortable, incredible big screen TV, and «The Bistro» eatery was a pleasant surprise. Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Potato squares and two large slices of sourdough toast cooked to perfection. Pretty sure it was cooked, not microwaved, although you wonder when there is no visible kitchen where you can watch the chefs work their magic.
Location was perfect, Wal-​Mart, Costco, gas stations and numerous eating establishments within walking distance and although it was right next to the freeway and onramps/​offramps the rooms seem to be soundproofed and I did not hear any outside noises — especially with the AC running.
Can’t give 5 stars due to the following:
1. Environmentally friendly bathtub/​shower combo suitable for toddlers only (workaround — some rooms have jacuzzi tubs). Same problem for the toilet — adult sized packages will require extra postage.
2. Snafu when placing the reservation — we needed a room for three adults, and we were promised a roll-​away bed. Upon arrival, the receptionist told us they can’t do roll-​away beds-​blaming the Fire Department of course. Hotel staff forced us to rent a second room. Ouch. Scam or negligence, we had travelled far to attend a funeral in a few hours thus we did not have the time or energy to find alternate accommodations. I’m thinking scam because the hotel made no effort to notify us of this «glitch» until we arrived. Had the circumstances been different, we would have walked out and taken our business elsewhere.
3. In-​room wifi was intermittent, I had some issues connecting but once tech support whitelisted my laptop’s MAC address it was solid.
Based on the other alternatives in Simi Valley, this is an excellent venue albeit a little pricey ($ 150−200ish). Just don’t get sucked in to that roll-​away bed scam like we did.

This is a nice Marriott location. Very clean and easy to locate from the freeway. It’s located in a center with many restaurants which makes things very conveniant. Staff was very nice and attentive when I arrived and would say this is a typical Courtyard. Nothing out of the ordinary but definitely up to Marriott standards. I gave it 4 bedbugs…

I was staying here from my wedding October 2014. My bridal party and I were very excited about the upcoming weekend and decided to open a bottle of wine to celebrate. We called the front desk for a bottle opener, and when the staff brought the bottle opener to my room, he immediately said, «You need to come downstairs and pick it up»…Well we weren’t going to let that ruin our day. Whatever grumpy old man… We decided to go downstairs to join the rest of our wedding party, and the same staff member yelled across the lobby «Where’s the bottle opener?!?» Well we left it upstairs. He continued to yell that he needed the bottle opener back because its the only one they had. How can a Marriott hotel only have ONE bottle opener? And my last gripe is at check-​out. I was pushing the luggage carry out and a staff member watched me struggle with all my belongings. Thanks Courtyard Marriott. Suffice to say, if you are a bride and willing to stay at this lack of service hotel… Good luck.

I stayed at Courtyard for one night this month. I chose this place because it was close to my business destination. Personnel was nice and accommodating. The room was good size and clean. The hotel amenities are very basic. I arrived late and had the dinner in one of many restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. I will stay there next time if come to Semi Valley for business.

Stayed here Sat night August 23^rd. Three miles to Reagan Library and very affordable place, Friendly people and the room was fantastic. My only complaint Is the Jacuzzi and pool should be open til at least 11pm on a sat night. Service was great and nice. Will be back next year when I go to Reagan Library again.

Enjoyed our visit and we will be back. Staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating to our needs. At least 5 restaurants within the same area… sushi, pizza etc. We did not use the pool, but my husband was there for work and used conference room which was very convenient

Convenient location with restaurants in walking distance.
Pool was small but kids took a dip and sat in hot tub.
On site café was okay. A bit slow.

Yes, defiantly a good place to stay when your in Simi Valley. The rooms are actually nice, good size and the hotel is close to everything. I would stay here again.

I do a lot of traveling for the government and this was a vacation to see the grandkids… all i want to say is awesome!!! Service was great… Easy in easy out. Rooms are really nice

If this review for the Courtyard Marriott was solely based on first impressions, it would be 5 stars all day long. Alan checked me in and could not have done his job better. Above and beyond.
This hotel is in a good location but in a busy walmart shopping center. You exit first st and loop over to it, you can only enter off Cochran so don’t pass it or else you have to re-​loop. The room is cute and they have Paul Mitchell mini bottles for shampoo. The free wifi worked in intervals, I had to log in several times over the course of a few hours.
When I checked in I went up to my room and found change on the floor in my room (quarters). Weird. I saw no other weirdness so I looked on the positive side that I made some money. That night, it was hard to sleep. THe A/​C is forced air and does not do its job. I tried opening the door to the nice big balcony but it was too noisy from the freeway right outside. Temperature is very important to me. The next few nights were the same.
The worst part was the gym. The gym is tiny and has too much in it for a tiny room. THe TVs in the machines only have one channel. The AC in the gym DOESNT WORK. Its like hot yoga without the yoga.
I got breakfast one day and it wasn’t great for being made to order, sit down. It was $ 13 bucks plus tip too. Thankfully, there was a hipster coffee shop across the parking lot (Coffee Connections) that I went to the other days. WHen I checked out there were two young girls just texting at the front desk. I gave them my key cards and they didn’t even bother asking me how my stay was. Too bad Alan cant work all day. I would only stay here again on a cold winter’s day.

We stopped at the Bistro lounge inside the hotel for a drink before going up to our room. Matt was the bartender and he was very personable and made an excellent vodka martini for my husband. Matt said this was the first vodka martini he ever made but my husband said it was perfect! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again

* Staff: very friendly and accommodating
* Rooms: surprisingly spacious, comfy beds, love seat, coffee table, office desk and chair, fridge, flat screen TV, and large bathroom
* Amenities: small yet gnarly gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and I’ll be damn… a courtyard.
* Parking: ample and free
For the price, undesirable location and all the other factors, this is a good deal.

I’m REALLY picky about hotels and I don’t travel often, and when I do travel, I pay a lot and stay at places that offer plenty of amenities and offer the comforts of home. With that being said, our close friends were getting married in Simi so we obviously didn’t want to drive back home and our dear friends got a great rate if we all booked our room there so I booked it without hesitating. I didn’t read one single review on Unilocal or any other booking site so I was very nervous upon arrival. At check-​in I was sooo happy that it was clean and the staff were polite! it was the complete opposite of what I thought it would be. The room was pristine! There were no funky smells. Although one of my friends said they received a room on the 4^th floor and it reeked of paint because they were doing remodeling on that level but I didn’t experience that problem on my floor.
A staff at the front desk even offered to assist me if I needed help in finding the nearby wedding venue. Great service!
I’ve found a new chain that I will start staying at for my seldom trips away… I also compared rates with AAA and those were competitive too.

This past weekend–
We were with a group for a wedding, but opted for AAA discount, which was greater. I only have two complaints– all of our key cards were malfunctioning the whole time… our shower was leaking, and we didn’t have enough towels both days, but other than that, we had a great time.
They put up with our loud hijinx at the pool and fire pit (which we made smokes over and shared a cooler of beer over) and even invited us to continue partying inside the lobby so we didn’t violate noise ordinance, which was cool. We were even tossing drinks back and forth at ech other, dripping wet from the spa, and the hotel manager was just a sweetheart. Thanks guys!

My introduction to the painful lesson that not all Courtyard Marriott locations are created equal. The lobby is very nice, and the bar is certainly above average. But once you go upstairs, you’ll find lodging that looks and smells like a motel, littered with Marriott’s signature art so you can pretend that it’s worth the price.
Breakfast was just so-so…it had items that you don’t get at other breakfast buffets (usually limited to breads and fruits), but lacked the items you would expect universally… like cereal, waffles, and muffins.
It’s not like this is a BAD hotel by any means. It just doesn’t live up to what it should.

This is clean, standard Courtyard. The lobby area is nice, as there is a bar/​restaurant and modern, clean furniture around. The receptionists were very friendly, too.
Our room was spacious enough, as was the bathroom, and there was really nothing outstanding (good or bad) about the room. It looked fairly new and quite clean, so those are big points in my book.
There was a pool (heated, I think, but not heated enough for the 50 something degrees it was it the evening), and a small hot tub. There was also a laundry room for guests’ use, which was a nice touch.
In the morning there was free coffee and a breakfast available for (I think) $ 7. I had neither coffee nor breakfast, so I can’t really comment on them.
There’s not much else to say, except that the hotel is located in a shopping center with several restaurants and a coffee shop, so you can literally walk to your dinner or breakfast if you don’t feel like driving anywhere.

This is a wonderful Marriott I had reservations due to the one review that was bad on here.
I was treated with the upmost respect and the front desk and everyone was helpful and attentive
Great customer service in my opinion and I’m a tough sell.
