Sheraton Sioux Falls & Convention Center

Very nice hotel. It is close to the airport and to the arena /​première center which is why I stayed. You can walk from the hotel to the venue and not even have to go outside! I stayed in a king suite. The room is big sand everything is decorated very nicely. There are pictures from the Sioux Falls area in the room that add a cool touch. The bed was comfortable enough and appeared to be clean, that’s always good lol. I was on fourth floor and had a decent view from window ND balcony outside my door over looked the lobby. They do have a small restaurant and a full bar wirh plenty of seating. The lobby is nice and staff where friendly as soon as you come in. Overall it was a great stay. I would stay again.

The interior of the hotel is very nice, particularly for a hotel in the middle of nowhere. The room was modern and well-​appointed, though there was no refrigerator. The people working at the hotel were not especially friendly which was in marked contrast to every other hotel we stayed at during our road trip. The room service was awful — the worst I’ve experienced in a hotel. The food was lukewarm at best and the quality was lower than Denny’s. Order at your own risk.

Nice clean hotel near the Sioux Falls airport. Room was serviced every day and had no complaints. Facilities seemed great. Enjoyed having breakfast by friendly staff. Unfortunately not free but reasonably priced.

I don’t really don’t know where to start because EVERYTHING was great! Everyone from the front desk to cleaning staff was great. The room was clean but if I was needing anything, it would have been a refrigerator.

Got a good deal on Priceline.
Nice big room for the family, lots of pillows, nice beds. Clean.
Got loud at night with people in the bar area, but called down and asked them to keep it down and they took care of the situation quickly.
Walking distance to the baseball stadium that was fun and had fireworks on Friday night.

The room is very nice. There is no refrigerator in the room or microwave. Room service was prompt the food was good and there’s an OK choice of things on the menu. Breakfast is included for 2 people in the morning.
Starbucks coffee and espresso are available all day long in the restaurant. The salmon was good it’s needed more flavor however the quality was very good. You have to ask for bread and rolls be sure to do that. avoid the ice tea they don’t brew it. it’s a Coca Cola product and it’s not very good.
The room is big and comfortable everything works and it’s clean. The air conditioner works really well it’s great.
The décor is very nice and comforting. The full size mirror even works for a 6 foot 2 tall fellow.

I stayed in town in ⁴⁄₂₁. Overall the experience above average. Check-​in and Check-​out were uneventful. We did enjoy dinner and drinks in the bar. The lady bartending provided great service and excellent recommendations for food. I had the club sandwich and it perfect. I would certainly stay here again when in town.

Came in for a weekend getaway with the Mrs. and chose this hotel over others due to it being above a three star and dog friendly to boot! Staff was courteous and helpful. I guess management finally took their reviews to heart and made Wi-​Fi free, which was a plus. We stayed in a fourth floor king deluxe suite which was very clean and well furnished. The bed was super comfortable and the couch was a nice touch. My only concern would be the A/​C. We stayed in mid April and I felt that it just wasn’t pushing the cold air like it should. Made me glad that we weren’t staying in July. My only gripe of the hotel would be the 25 $ charge to have a mini-​fridge delivered to your room. I’d recommend bringing a cooler if you want to save that money. All in all, 4.5 out of 5 stars for being an extremely clean well-​furnished hotel, in a good location, pet friendly and helpful courteous staff. Kudos!

I held my wedding reception at the convention center in one of the exhibit halls. It went very well, few minor things that didn’t work perfectly but that’s to be expected. Food was outstanding and dessert was amazing. Many people raved about it! They also followed up with me after the wedding to see if I had any concerns or issues. I was very happy with them! Thank u!

I was very happy with my stay at this Sheraton. The room was large and clean. The gym was great. I’m an SPG member, so I had a couple of cookies and a «welcome» note from the chef in my room. Who could ask for anything more?

I used to stay exclusively at Marriott properties, but I am branching out and wanting to try all kinds of hotels while traveling. I mean. why not? It would broaden my horizon. The only downfall is at Marriott, I am a Platinum Elite and it comes with some perks. I have to start over with the other properties. Oh well, 4 more stays to gold with SPG!
The Sheraton Sioux Falls looked okay from outside. It is conveniently located by the airport and the convention center. There wasn’t much around other than that but I haven’t really explored hard.
The reception process was standard SPG. It was pleasant and professional. The elevators have glass windows looking over the atrium as they go up. I was a little paranoid as I was wearing a skirt and there were people eating at the restaurant that could look up and see what’s under the skirt. Lol. nothing much there. Just deep dark tunnel to nowhere.
The room was very classy. It was nicely decorated and quite modern. It has nice furniture, comfy bed with warm bedding, good looking drapes, leather working chairs, and cabinets equipped with electrical outlets on each side. They serve Starbucks coffee and Tazo Tea with the single cup coffee machine in the room. They also give you a complimentary Dasani water. So far so good.
My biggest complaints were things with the bathroom. It had a faint sewer odor that got stronger the longer I inhaled it. The bathtub had a slow drain. The water got up above my ankle and covered my legs like crew-​cut socks. I hated that my feet were submerged in soapy water. The vent in the bathroom also had a thick layer of dust. It made me question how clean everything else. So this is one star deduction.
One more star deduction is the $ 10.99 charge for wifi. It’s like a given for me usually that wifi is available. Not having wifi or having to pay $ 10.99 is a hindrance for me. Not that I am cheap, but I am used to having it for free and feel that it is not a good use for my money. I think only hotels still charge for wifi. It’s a rip-​off.
Maybe I come back after getting the gold status and hopefully get a perk like a free wifi.

Road construction forced us to take a detour. Arrived, checked in quickly. I made reservation to sleep 4 with a king and roll out sofa. Room only had king with no roll out, they said they don’t have any roll outs. We were placed in another room with two queen beds. We could not connect to WiFi do they faced for free, still could not connect so they have us their info to log in. Room was clean, updated. We wanted to watch a game in bar before it opened, they accommodated us and even served drinks. Aside from initial issues or stay was good.

Wife and in were passing threw and hot wired a room. The room was great the bar area good and the food was terrible. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Plus the $ 10 fee for wifi was out of line… But the newly remodeled rooms made up for the faults. 5 Stars if I got wifi and a edible burger (it was mush)

Stayed here twice. The first time the «forgot to do my dry cleaning on time». When I pointed out they have a night time dry clean service on their hotel slip they sounded surprised that they never saw this but don’t offer this service. Got locked out of my room many times bc my key card didn’t work.
Just came back for one more shot. Should have known it wouldn’t be good when I checked in and two people in line said their key cards didn’t work. Of course when I get to my room mine doesn’t work either. Waited for my room service. I ordered hummus with pita that said it comes with veggies. They lady calls me back later to say they have no pita. I said what about the veggies? And she said we don’t usually give that and she had no idea that’s what it says on the menu. She brought me the beef soup instead. Beef soup. It was not soup at all instead more of a solid than liquid and was clearly very old.

I’m always hesitant to leave one star when the rooms are clean and the facility is nice overall, however, a very negative experience with personnel truly lowers the rating to a single star in my opinion.
Nathan is an arrogant young man who doesn’t hide that he is not fond of certain people. It becomes obvious when your friend is treated like royalty and you are treated as a pauper. My requests were simply, but they seemed monumental when it required Nathan to stop texting whoever was occupying his time.
When I pay for a 3.5 star hotel, I expect to be a little more important than the desk clerks cell phone, yet I waited for 2 – 3 minutes. My request were met with excuses that were obviously attempts to hide his laziness.
I think I’m booked here next week. If I encounter someone who gives a damn, and isn’t prejudice, I’ll raise my rating. I hope it gets better!

I’ve always been fascinated by the Dakotas — the two states take up a good portion of land, ostensibly consisting of few hills or reasons to visit. Oh sure, I knew about Mt. Rushmore, and that the Missouri River ran through the middle of both states, and that oil was a big deal, and that while the states vote heavily Republican, it was a vastly different sort than one might find in Alabama, or even a bit closer, Oklahoma.
So, to check out the local flavor, we checked in at the Sheraton, at the north end of West Avenue, which is not to be confused nearby North Western Avenue. It is located kitty corner to the Sioux Falls Convention Center, your destination for concerts, hockey and indoor soccer, and about a block from where the Sioux Falls Canaries play, they of the revamped American Associaton.
The hotel itself is fairly new (actually 2009), and has all the frills and conveniences you might expect of a chain hotel of this vintage. Open glass elevator which moves efficiently, a large enough restroom adjacent to the lobby to satisfy a Springsteen concert. An additional set of restrooms near the pool/​fitness area (which offer more stalls than a typical gate at Boston’s Logan International Airport). Well-​stocked said pool/​fitness area. And a restaurant/​bar area that has anything anybody would want. Room were quiet, outlets plentiful, and everything worked.
Only drawback was that the wi-​fi was not free. There was a public ‘business area’ with free wi-​fi available, but really — I didn’t want the public to be aware I was posting Unilocal reviews.

Nice, attractive, good location, comfortable. Busy (the lobby was crawling with kids wandering around in dripping wet swimsuits), but they seemed to handle everything well. Staff was professional and welcoming. Restaurant for breakfast was fine.
Only two small nitpicks — one not their fault. The $ 10.99 to use the WiFi was a bit of a drag, and there’s a ton of road construction going on around the hotel, so actually getting into the parking lot can be confusing.

There’s significant road construction at and around the hotel, it made it hard to get in/​out and around the area.
There was some sort of baseball game (minor league?) going on next to the hotel when we were there. It went into the night but the noise wasn’t loud enough to be a problem and it was fun to see the fireworks when the home team won.

99% of the time when I’m in Sioux Falls for work, this is where I stay.
They have always treated me exceptionally well here. This was the first SPG property to recognize (or receive) my first Ambassador stay — so that was a treat too. They really treated me well — — made a super nice fruit display for the achievement.
Rooms are comfortable. I think most of the rooms have now been renovated; which is really nice.
Club lounge is comfortable; nice assortment of food choices — they really do try to have a nice offering here.
Large lobby area with a restaurant and bar. I’ve had drinks here maybe only one or two times, and the staff was friendly as well.
Conveniently located next to a convention center, and not too far from the airport either.

If Unilocal gave us half stars I would so add a half star here, but that’s not an option, and it doesn’t feel right to go up to 4, so I will say that we do feel that this is one of the better hotel options in Sioux Falls. Having read another review that mentioned major construction, we were a tad concerned, but seriously construction was the least of our concerns. It was a quick in. We did see «just painted signs» inside the first day, but how great is that? Give me fresh paint, fresh anything in a hotel, I’m all for it!

The room was mostly comfortable. Certainly clean. Everything here in the winter is so DRY. I would take a shower, get out and be bright RED. Honestly, I didn’t know skin could get this dry. That being said, it’s not necessarily the hotel’s fault. Might be more of a city/​city water fault. Or just old me. Bring good lotion and/​or benadryl… just saying…
Speaking of just saying, I will say that this hotel has paper thin walls. Husband and I are still debating about whether what we heard one morning was human or canine. :)
Now, let’s talk a minute about the bar area. We spent some good money here entertaining relatives. It’s okay. Just okay. Comfortable. Somewhat friendly service. Somewhat reasonably priced. It would be so nice if the hotel restaurant would come up with some kind of favorite item that would get people talking and/​or wanting to come back. Instead the food options are boring and just barely okay. Drinks okay.
TIP: we booked this hotel off Hotwire for $ 66 per night. For that it was very much okay. Would also add that this is the only time I’ve ever checked in a hotel and been offered a $ 5 hotel credit for opting out of housekeeping. An interesting consideration.
Tip 2: be sure to check out the Wall of Fame in the lobby… very cool!
