Specialties
Our music studio offers caring support for families — personal help for parents to help guide their young music students. Music lessons are rewarding ONLY if they are fun, and if they make the language of music NATIVE, in other words, user-friendly. Whether taking piano, voice, guitar or violin, music lessons must be fun and student practice habits must be efficient. At our Skokie music lesson studio, we keep teachers, parents, and students on the same page about motivation, staying power, and efficiency. We have carefully selected piano teachers, voice teachers, guitar teachers, and violin teachers. All of the music teachers are degreed and are chosen for their personality, as well as their ability to work with children and adapt to individual learning styles. Our music instruction studio is an established Skokie tradition, offering music lessons since 1992. Our music lessons cater to students from Skokie, Lincolnwood, Niles, Morton Grove, Wilmette, Evanston and North Chicago.
History
Established in 1992.
Since 1992, this Skokie music instruction studio has offered curriculum-based piano lessons, as well as music lessons featuring voice, guitar and violin. The main focus is keeping music students motivated and showing them efficient learning habits. Unprecedented support for parents of music students is an essential and unique ingredient in this studio’s approach to music lessons. «You can’t express yourself freely if you don’t know the language.», says school director Cinquemani. «So learning the language fast and well is what our studio is all about.» Parents, students and teachers need to be «on the same page» about practice habits, and this studio shines in it’s ongoing support for this. FHS has a reputation for providing personable and knowledgeable music teachers to students of all ages. These music teachers are degreed and accomplished musicians. They are selected for their ability to inspire and bond with students — providing a positive environment in which to learn.
Meet the Business Owner
Rick C.
Business Owner
Rick Cinquemani has a very multi-faceted musical background. He has been the theory chair for the North Shore Music Teachers Association and is presently the chairperson for the Skokie chapter of the National Piano Guild. He has shared the bill with artists such as Merle Saunders, Jefferson Starship and the Jerry Garcia Band. As a member of Uncle John’s Band in the 90’s, he headlined clubs such as the Vic Theatre and the Park West in Chicago. Relix magazine referred to his work as «sparkling» and hailed «When I Look» (his song) as being comparable to the best of Pure Prairie League. Presently, Cinquemani is school director at Five Hands Studio. His passion is integrating the efforts of music teachers, parents and students, «putting them on the same page» as they cooperate to learn the language that has served him so well. FHS provides music teachers for Skokie, Lincolnwood, Wilmette, Evanston, Niles, Morton Grove and North Chicago — giving music lessons to students of all ages.
