MHT Masonry Restoration&Tuckpointing

Miro and his team were excellent. We live on the south side, and it is not always easy to get contractors to show up for a quote, let alone for work. Miro was super responsive. He gave a detailed quote, was clear about when he could start the work, and then showed up when he said he would. The team was easy to work with, neat and considerate, and took special care when they had to work on my neighbors newly sodded lawn, leaving it in great condition. The work itself was impeccable, and I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I highly recommend them!

I was so lucky to stumble upon Miro and his crew. His knowledge base was really helpful in getting my quote for repair work on my chimney and tuckpointing, and he vastly overdelivered. His work was above and beyond what I had expected and my house looks better than it did when ti was built sixty years ago. very very over priced. Came in 3x time more then other contractors. Make sure you compare prices before you make a decision to go with MHT. They will feed you garbage lines like «permits have doubled since last year» and «Prices have gone up on materials». Be cautious before going with them.

Miro and his team were terrific. From the start Miro was easy to communicate with and very responsive. I got several quotes and his was in the middle, but seemed to be the most inclusive and really seemed to know what he was doing and what he was looking for. I felt the most comfortable with Miro, and I am so glad I chose him. He and his team showed up on time every day, cleaned up the space each day before they left and did great work. I am in the process of getting another quote from Miro for additional masonry work that needs to be done on my home.

Miro and his team were absolutely amazing! I was having difficulty finding someone I could trust at a reasonable price for some repairs on the flashing of my building and I am SO happy I found Miro. He was responsive, extremely accommodating and very professional. He has a lot of experience with what we needed done and it ended up being a quick repair for him. Miro and his crew rebuilt the top portion of our chimney and repaired cracked masonry around our house and garage. His estimate was very reasonable and he was also very responsive in inspecting the job and in giving us a quote for the work. MHT also showed up when Miro said they would, and installed safety tape around the scaffolding and work area and neatly stacked their supplies each night. They also cleaned up the side yard after they were done with the work. The brickwork and chimney looks great. I highly recommend MHT Masonry for both new masonry work as well as for tuckpointing and repairs.

I had water damage to the outside bricks to my house. Using Unilocal I found HMT Masonry. The owner Miro came out to my house to give me a quote, and came as schedule, ON TIME. After he evaluated he gave a quote. Afterwards I discovered where the water leak was started and related to Miro I would have to contact after I would repair where the water is leaking. Afterwards I rescheduled with Miro. Again he came out, ON TIME. Never once getting perturbed and patient with me coming back to give me a second quote. Never once trying to sell me on all extras or trying to scare me that I needed those extras too. He also is fair on his quotes. Final job was Great and I was Very happy.

Did some research on a few local tuckpointers and had two quotes (Delta never got back to me with the quote request… wah wahhh). MHT was the lower quote and the proposal was thorough and clear. Miro promptly came to look at the chimney for an estimate, sent an email within 2 – 3 days with the proposal, answered all questions timely and when I decided to go with him, he emailed me as soon as he received my deposit to let me know when he could begin the work. The weather caused a few day delay but that is absolutely Mother Nature’s fault and not his, and he came when he said he would and finished the job in one day. Results are perfect, the area was very clean where they worked and he is so friendly and warm. I will definitely have Miro do the remainder of my house, which needs a good tuckpoint next year. They did a great job. You won’t be disappointed! Dziękuję again, Miro! :)

Miro and his crew did a great job tuckpointing and replacing brick where necessary. He was very responsive from the beginning, friendly and professional, quoted a fair price and cleaned everything up nicely when the job was done. If I ever need a mason again I’ll definitely use MHT.

MHT provided one of lower quotes I received for my project so I was a little suspect of their quality at first. Boy, was I wrong. Miro and his crew did a fantastic job on my building repairs and was a pleasure to work. They were quick without cutting corners and very responsive whenever I had questions or needed information. I felt like Miro was always shooting me straight and had my best interest in mind, which unfortunately is really hard to find with a contractor. I pray I won’t need brick work done again for a very long time, but when I do I’m calling MHT.

They did a great job with repairing and replacing a damaged brick wall on our house. Worked directly with Miro who was easy to work well and very professional. They even cleaned up all of the debris and dust that had gotten on our sidewalk and back deck. We will use them again.

I did a lot of research before hiring a contractor for some tuckpointing repairs on our brick ranch. I had four contractors come out for quotes.
MHT Masonry’s quote was the lowest and Miro was the most communicative of the contractors. I called Miro with a few questions about the quote and he promptly called me back to discuss. One of the contractors overquoted the scope of the work, but Miro was honest about what did and did not need to be done around our house.
One thing I really liked about MHT, and was really the selling point, is that Miro has a very small team of four, including him. He is on site for the duration of the work and he works with the same crew on all of his jobs. While Miro and his crew were working, we added a few things to the scope of the work (something we were only able to do because he was on site) and his team stayed late to finish the job.
I am a member of Angie’s List and often use the site to find plumbers, electrians, painters, etc. I would recommend using him over any of the contractors who came out for quotes from Angie’s List.

I don’t write many reviews, but I really felt the need to praise Miro after the work that he and his team did. First of all, Miro was incredibly responsive, which is something I find very rare in any kind of contractor. Phone calls, texts and emails were all responded to promptly, and made communication and organization very easy.
We needed to replace a wall of brickwork on the house that was leaking water into the basement. He and his team were incredibly diligent, and did a great job, and the work looks fantastic. They worked long hours to make sure they finished when they promised they would (and to avoid potential bad weather later in the week), and they cleaned everything up after they finished. Miro even found a cracked pipe when he was removing the brickwork, and fixed that for me for free.
A genuinely nice guy — I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again the next time I need help on my house. He is based in Chicago, but I live in Evanston and I believe he does a lot of work in the Evanston area.

We had out chimney and parapet wall repaired. A few things I especially appreciated:
(1) They were incredibly organized. Neat piles of bricks in the backyard to start the project; cleaned up after the project. Seriously. I would not be that organized. I have never seen another contractor that organized.
(2) They were self-​reliant and proactive. I emailed Miro to ask if I need to be around to help them get set up and he’s like «it’s cool, I already found your outside power and I can just go for it.»
(3) They also seemed honest and straightforward — Miro took helpful before/​after photos as some of the roof was difficult to see.
(4) Miro always got back to my emails very promptly.
I hear so many roofing horror stories, and had recently gone through some bathroom tile work that had gone south, so I was so glad Miro’s team was so on top of everything.

Miro and his team were great to work with. We were having water infiltration issues and hired MHT to redo the flashing and tuck point and seal our building’s parapet walls. We got several bids on the project and MHT’s was very competitive. Miro kept me informed of the progress each day and gave me a detailed review when it was complete. I would definitely recommend Miro and his team for any masonry or tuck pointing job!

My brick garage needed a total parapet rebuild and new roof. Water had been seeping in through the damaged parapet bricks and ruining bricks below, as well.
Miro was one of a few contractors I asked for bids to do the masonry work. Though he was busy and took a bit of pinning down to get an estimate, I was glad I went with my gut and hired him. His proposal was thorough and included pictures of the work to be done. His pricing was middle of the pack.
Miro and his crew worked skillfully and efficiently. In three days, they tore down my parapet, rebuilt it, added flashing and drainage wicks underneath my limestone coping, and replaced bricks or tuckpointed the rest of the garage as needed. They were able to use existing bricks to rebuild the front and side walls, per my request, and even the new bricks they found for the rest of the garage ended up matching perfectly. Miro went as far as to tuckpoint a complete wall which faces my patio, so that all the mortar would look exactly the same. From what I can tell a few weeks later, this wasn’t even necessary, since his mortar seems to match the original mortar very well.
The icing on the cake came after my roofers and I made a stupid mistake: while lifting a beam to try and ensure no ponding on the new flat roof, we ended up lifting too much and splitting the fresh mortar between some bricks underneath the parapet. I called Miro and he was out right after the roofers were done to fix the cracked joints for free!
I highly recommend Miro and MHT corp. They are very good at what they do and provided me with excellent service.

Hello Miro thanks for calling me back on the same day I sent an request through your website to schedule an estimate. That was one and half week ago. However, it would have been wonderful if you actually fulfill that commitment.
I switched my work day so I could have this estimate. When you didn’t show up for the appointment 30 mins later I gave you a CALL. You TEXTED me back an hour later stating you are sorry that you are busy and forgot to call me. Sure no problem. So I texted you back to inquire if you still be able to make it today. Your reply was «No, I am not coming today and I’m busy whole week.» No problem and I will definitely mark you off my list. This is not what I expected from a reputable company. The last time someone no call/​no show for an estimate or job was from my local latino workers.
Maybe I should blame myself though for exposing too much detail about how small the job is (tuckpointing a 55’x17’ wall) compares to the other reviews.

Miro and his crew came referred through some contractor friends of mine. They did a great job with the tuckpointing around my house as well as a few related items. Miro’s estimate was slightly below another highly rated contractor, but I decided to go with Miro since he was very professional, maintained communication throughout, and was the first one out to us. He did not recommend more work than was necessary like the other contractor did.
In the end he ended up doing tuckpointing on an entire exterior wall that he had originally just quoted patch up work for. He did not charge extra, and he let us know what he was doing the entire time. I highly recommend Miro and his crew for exterior work.

I just can’t say enough good things about Miro and his crew at MHT. They’ve been taking care of our 1920’s vintage building for the last 3+ years and have finally resolved issues for us that just wouldn’t go away. It pains me to think of all the money we lost on shoddy work from other contractors.
We trust MHT and they have always been super-​professional and courteous. Their prices are very fair and the quality of the work is exceptional. Finally a roofer and tuck pointing crew we can rely on. Thank you Miro!
