Super quick… assuming you go when it’s not busy. I went on Friday at 5:30pm with no wait. My car has the OBD, so I was out of there in about 5 minutes. Staff was quick, efficient and polite.
Not sure how bad it is during busy times, but you can call first. The recording will tell you the current wait time so you can plan accordingly.

Fortunately they’re nearby and have convenient hours. I love that I’m always in & out quickly. The staff are friendly and professional, reminding me how long the test is good for, and they even help me in and out of the car, handing me my seat belt! No complaints at all.

This place is right next to my house and I go here everytime I need to get my emissions checked. They are always fast and nice. They even pull the seatbelt out for you before you drive off. That’s how much they care about you!

There are five lanes of testing, but on this morning there was only one open lane. I had two people «testing» my car and both of them were RUDE.
In my opinion, emission testing is a sham on the taxpayer. The only test they really perform is to see if your car’s computer has any trouble codes stored. If it does, your check engine light would be on.
Smelly diesel engines are exempt from testing. Vehicles built in 1995 or earlier are exempt. Doesn’t it make sense that an older vehicle is more likely to be a polluter than a newer one?
Testing made sense before electronic ignition and electronic fuel injection – it’s a terrible waste of money and resources today.

Yikes, I’m actually writing a review for this place?
Well, its a good location, near my work. I can just go there at my lunch break and get the testing done. Of course, I only have to go every other year, but this location makes the whole process bearable.
Also, for any of these testing locations, you can go to the main website, find the location you want, and see what the wait time is (including real time photo of the lines).

Don’t go here… idiots. I have a 2008 BMW and the guy wasn’t plugging in the connector all the way and telling me my connector is bad. The guy called his supervisor over and they proceeded to hold the obd connector in place while trying to establish connection to start the test. Never made a connection because the genius wasn’t pushing in the connector all the way. When I saw this I ased if they should be holding it and if we can run it again and the guy said we can but it wont make a difference.
Went to the emissions place over by the HIP and NO ISSUES! The guy over at the other station had a look on his face like the people at the Skokie faculty are idiots.
Go here if you want to waste your time. I would give them a no stars, but that’s not an option on Unilocal

I will not be going to this location again. I originally went here because its the location closest to where I live but from here on out I’ll be going to CarX. First time I went to this place my check engin light was on, so I didnt pass becuase my car computer would’nt connect to their DLC. I went to the dealership got it fixed. I go back and they tell me I hace the same problem, so I’m pissed. I take it back to the dealership and the service man has no problem connecting… I take it to CarX a few hrs later and voila! I’ve passed the test. meanwhile I’ve gotten 3 tix for expired tags. I think something is wrong with there equipment at this location.

Unilocalers, I needed to have our Subaru Forestor tested and recommend this location. You can go online to see the realtime camera view of the queue. Before we left for testing the estimated wait time was only three minutes. At 3:30 on a tuesday we literally drove in and in 2 minutes left with our completed pass form. Wow! After years of going to Webster I never got in-​and out that quickly and by such a perky upbeat attendant. If you’re in the neighborhood go to Skokie instead. While there wasn’t a sign at Touhy and St Louis it was easy to find just go North on St Louis 3 blocks and you can’t miss it!

If you’re anything like me you absolutely dread the little yellow letter that comes in the mail telling you it’s time for an emissions test — worse yet if it’s pink! So, eager to just get this taken care of, I went to the location closest to my house, in Skokie. I was very pleasantly suprised to see that there was hardly a line and that there were serveral bays open. The test was quick (and sucessful) and the staff were very polite. Not that I’m excited to be going back but when the time comes I will be going to this location. Yay for clean air!
