Dawg It is a small hotdog joint on South Cobb Dr. They have a ton of dogs(or dawgs) on the menu. You can also substitute their regular hotdog with a veggie dog, turkey dog, red hots, or beef Polish sausage. Except, those alternate dogs will cost you extra. I tried their Chicago dog and their chili dog. Like Daniel B. said, the dogs are very pretty. You just wanted to take it a picture and frame it instead of putting it in your mouth. Well, maybe some people would want to put something that pretty in their mouth. I did – because I was hungry. The Chicago dog seemed authentic because it came with a poppy seed bun, sports peppers, pickles, tomatoes, and green relish that looked like it was glowing. Although, I don’t know if they used an all beef frank. It was okay. Their chili dog was good. I think the chili needed a bit more heat. Otherwise, it was a decent dog. They grill their dogs, not boil them. They also split them in half first. I do like their grilled taste. They are made fresh to order so you will be waiting a bit for the dogs. So just get your drink and be patient. Their prices seems cheap. The dogs feel small to me so you need about 2 of them to get full. Even with 2 dogs, you can have a decent, cheap lunch. I think it’s a good place to get hotdogs in the Smyrna area. It’s not gourmet, but it’s cheap and satisfies hot dog cravings. I give this place 3.5 stars.

I went to Dawg It last Thursday for lunch for Jang C’s Cobb County UYE( ) with four other Unilocalers. Dawg It is located in the same strip mall as Monterrey Mexican Restaurant on South Cobb Drive, across the street from IHOP. Dawg It has over a dozen hot dog varieties to choose from or you can build your own custom dog. Store varieties include the New Yorker(spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut), Chicago Style(green relish, tomato, pickles, sport peppers, celery salt, poppy seed bun), Morning Dawg(bacon, cheese, egg), and Cremator(deep fried dog, chili, onion rings). The dogs are cooked to order in an open kitchen in the back. Each dog ranges in price from $ 2.15 to $ 3.50. Combos(fries and a fountain drink) are $ 2 – 3 more. Along with fries, other sides include sweet potato fries, onion rings, and chips. I went with the owner’s recommendation of the Chicago Style dog and the All The Way dog. She said they are among the most popular hot dogs at Dawg It. These dogs were pretty. The ingredients were fresh and the toppings were placed on neatly. The Chicago Style dog has a lot of extras. The green relish is bright neon green, like Ghostbusters ectoplasm green. The meat was tough and it took me a couple chews sometimes just to get one bite in my mouth. While I wasn’t a huge fan of the Chicago dog, I really liked the All The Way dog. This dog consists of chopped onions, chili, and slaw with ketchup and mustard on top. This is a pretty classic style hot dog. The chili and slaw are delicious. I think two hot dogs is the way to go instead of getting a combo. Be sure to check out their specials boards inside and outside to see what special combos and/or desserts they might be offering. The employees are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I will be back to try their other hot dogs.

HOT Diggity DOG! Don’t be fooled by the humble exterior, the grub inside is for realz. There’s so many different choices and combos, it’s hard to go wrong. So do what I did and sample a variety! I tried the Chicago style with an original dog and the New Yorker with a veggie dog… I also stole a couple of chili cheese fries off of my co-worker’s plate. Verdict: GUILTY(of being incredibly delicious)!!! The Chicago dog was classic perfection; anything with sport peppers is an automatic win. The New Yorker was really good too: piled high with sauerkraut and spicy mustard. Yum! I’m really glad I dropped an extra 50 cents and had a go at the veggie dog. I think this could be my new favorite, for sure. But the most incredible thing has to be the chili cheese fries. OHMYGAWD. The fresh cut, honest to goodness, no joke, beautifully cut fries served as the perfect foundation for the most amazing chili and ooey-gooey, soft and silky cheesey-ness. Do yourself a favor and order a side of these chili-cheese fries. The price adds to the wow factor! All of the dogs are well under $ 3(unless you sub a turkey or veggie dog). Need another excuse to get stuffed? The fries are a great value. I really want to try the sweet potato fries next time… only $ 1.85 for a small(if I remember correctly). There’s a nice selection of fountain and bottled drinks, and bottled beer is only $ 2.50($ 3.00 for imports)…not to mention the soft-serve ice cream to go along side the chocolate cake & pies. *temptation at its finest* I’m crossing my fingers that Jang C. will do a Cobb lunch UYE here, soon!

If you like hot dogs you’ve got to try this place. They have lots of variety and it is cooked to order. You can also build your own dog. They have turkey, red hot link, polish beef, and veggie options as well. They have also added hamburgers to the menu. I had their chili cheese dogs. It had really good flavor and was very filling. I will be going back to try something different.

A nice, new edition to this stretch of South Cobb Drive. It’s a small store, but there is plenty of seating available with various counters and bar stools and a few tall tables. Orders are placed at the counter and brought out to you once you have a seat. I decided on the chili cheese dog combo(fries and drink) and was satisfied with my choice. The Cincinnati girl in me always hopes that a dog with chili, mustard, and cheese will be more like a coney but this dog was covered in cheese sauce instead of shredded cheddar. The chili was a fine consistency and almost made me think of a very fine sloppy joe. TASTY. The hot dog itself was split and grilled. YUM! I noticed on the menu board that turkey dogs and Red Hot links are available if you do not want the standard dog(which I’m assuming is beef). I think there was a veggie dog option as well but I’m not certain. Next time I will grab a take-out menu so that I can be better prepared during my next visit.
