CLOSED! I hate to say it, but Unique Indian Cuisine is closed. That is the primary reason I am posting a review… so others won’t waste their time trying to go. While I am at it though, I will post my review. This was my favorite Indian restaurant and I probably ate there at least twice a month, and always had the lunch buffet(barring one dinner there a couple years ago). To be honest, even though I am giving it 5 stars, as a buffet, it was mediocre which is such a shame because I thought the food was outstanding. The problem was that there were not enough items on the buffet. My little secret that made it so good though was that you could order other items at no additional cost! From the buffet, I would usually get the rice, butter chicken, and saag paneer(if they had it). But I also always requested bangain bharta, chicken ticka masala, and garlic naan. They were outstanding and I have yet to have bangain bharta anywhere that was better. I would have never thought that I would like eggplant so much, but theirs showed me the way. And I am a meat-eater! Service was never that great to be honest. Someone else posted that the owner was on the phone a lot and that was my experience as well. And that was my experience from eating there over about a 3 year period! Also, the credit card machine shared the only phone line. One time, because someone was on the phone, I couldn’t even pay. I ate there so often though that the owner just said I could pay next time, which I did. I often wondered if the service for me was poor because I was a regular. However, regardless of the service, I thought the food was outstanding! I really miss that bangain bharta!!!

Well, I must say, visiting this place was quite an experience. That’s what I get for not reading past the first three reviews in the list. I was a little nervous when I walked in, slightly after 1:15pm and I was the only person in the entire place. There were two people who worked there and neither looked up from the papers they were reading until I asked if they were open. I sat down and decided to have the buffet. Lets see, Tandoori chicken was not hot, not even lukewarm. Chicken makhani was like a fusion of Indian and Italian flavors. Pretty good. Naan was okay. I would not call it the best in Atlanta as some other reviewers have intimated. Curry goat was tough and had more bones than meat though the flavor was decent. Overall, the food was just decent but quite overpriced for the quality. The service was unacceptable. After dropping the Naan at my table, no one spoke to me until I stood and walked toward the cash register. They didn’t even refill my empty glass of water! I don’t think I will be back.

This is the first time I’ve ever tried Indian food and I was impressed. I would definitely go back there. I had the Gorsht Saag(lamb with spinach sauce) and my friends all ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala. Two of them ordered it very spicy, one of them ordered it mild. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, they don’t overload on heat even if you ask for it hot. I eat a lot of Thai and Mexican food and Unique’s hot is about 3 peppers out of 5. We also ordered onion fritters and a couple different varieties of Naan. The naans were awesome! The potato filled one definitely had a kick to it. The Gorsht Saag was pretty good, although some of the lamb chunks were so hard that I couldn’t spear them with a fork. Other lamb chunks were so tender they parted easily. The Tikki Masala was pretty awesome, although I would definitely order it spicy over mild. The reason I gave it four stars was the service. Although the people that worked there were incredibly friendly and polite, our server was just dang slow. We were one of two tables in the restaurant on a Friday night and it still took us an hour from the time we sat down until the time we had our meals in front of us. There also was a lot of confusion(or apathy) about getting us the right food at the right time. We had to ask twice for numerous things, including rice(we ended up sharing the two plates, then asking for more) and boxes. Overall, I would definitely go back. But I think the next time I’ll call ahead and take it to go. :)

I love this place! It’s not the best for my waist-line, but it sure tastes out of this world! I like to split the dinner for two. It comes with a delicious chicken dish, spinach and cheese, rice, nan(try the garlic nan!!), grilled chicken and sausages(not pork, but similar taste). I love how they grill the lemons with the chicken, too! You also get a dessert with the dinner for two. My husband and I LOOOOOVE the rice pudding! It’s soooooo delicious yet simple. If you don’t like rice pudding, you should try the carrot dessert(yes, carrots!!). It’s very sweet and buttery and wonderful! You just can’t go wrong with this place! Also, the service is really great. They are so attentive and really do a great job! Yay!

I’m not an Indian food connoisseur, but this is one of my favorite Indian restaurants. The food is just plain excellent. It’s very oily though, but I guess that’s what makes it taste good. Like other Indian foods, the portions might look small, but it’s heavy and fills you up quick. They also have excellent service. I cannot believe how much they bend over backwards for us. For example, we went to get their lunch buffet. I love their rice pudding, but they didn’t have it for dessert. So I asked for it, and they made a fresh batch for us with for no extra cost(it was part of the buffet cost). That’s incredible. Other places would charge us silly for such a small request. And every time I went – for both lunch and dinner – they’re always friendly and helpful. Also they give you unlimited Naan. I love Naan. The Naan is also heavy, but it’s excellent. And when they bring out a hot, steamy, fresh Naans, it’s like heaven. So check this place out. The price is right, the food tastes great, and they have one of the best service in Atlanta. What more can you ask for? The food might be too heavy, and that’s only a minuscule negative on their part.

Stopped in for the lunch buffet where they had an array of goodies set out. Everything from(exuse me as I butcher the dishes names!) tandoori chicken, channa masala, rice, sweet dough in honey, curried goat, saag panneer and a few other items. I’m pretty picky about my meats so I mainly stuck to the veggie options which were good but could have used a bit more spice. The owner was friendly and I just could not stop eating that naan! So why the two stars? Let me put it this way do you remember the movie that came out in the 90’s Joe’s Apartment? Ummm yea… GAG.

Dude, this place was awesome. The staff was very friendly. Even the owner came to our table to ask how our meal was. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Only thing I have to complain about is that some of the beers come in a large and the menu doesn’t tell you the price for them. It just says«Beer(All) $ 2.99». So, be careful with that because you can run up your tab very easily. Other than that, everything was awesome and we will be back again very soon.

Just got back from trying the lunch buffet, and while I’m certainly not a connoisseur of Indian food, I thoroughly enjoyed everything — and I tried EVERYTHING! The service was also fantastic. I look forward to returning soon.

I’ve been searching for an affordable Indian spot on the West side of town for nearly 3 years now. I found it! My husband and I went for dinner at Unique Indian Cuisine on Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. As with most Indian restaurants I’ve been to in Atlanta, the décor was very simple with only a few curtained booths to set the place apart. We found the service to be friendly and prompt considering only one server was working all 6 tables while we were there. The food was good although if you like it spicy, you need to tell them when you order. I’m not too keen on buffets of any kind so I stick to the menu. I’m also a sucker for nan and they did not disappoint. I highly recommend the Chai Tea to wrap up your meal. We will certainly be back for more!

Sandwiched between«hhgregg» and the Smyrna Marine Corps./Army recruiting stations is the best kept Indian lunch buffet outside the perimeter. Should you find yourself on the dirty, dirty Westside of Cobb county around lunch time; get more than your money’s worth of genuine ol’ school mom and pop Indian. The most important aspect of your dining experience is to remember that this is a lunch only destination. You would not want to partake in this minimalist dinning experience for dinner. Furthermore, do not attempt the buffet after 12:30PM. Noon time is the right time for the Unique Indian Buffet. for $ 10.00 you will capitalize upon the variety of goat, curry chicken, lintels, chick peas, and an appetizing array of vegitarian buffet section should you not like the meat. The best part is the personal attention from the head chef, he will always ask if the buffet has what you want, if not, than you have no limit to the dishes you can ask for a l cart and all of the made to order dishes that you want are included in the price. For example, I will go and the chick peas will not be in the buffet for that particular day, I will simply request some chickpeas and there you go, it comes out fresh and made to order. Notable items on the buffet, Non-bread is outrageous and not greasy, the lintels are on like donkey kong, their goat is not gummy and chewy, very fresh and non-greasy, request the eggplant if you don’t see it when you visit, for dessert(included in the price) they have a carrot pudding that is richous and they rock out the rice pudding like there is no tomorrow, all definitely worth asking for if they are not included in the buffet for that day

I went here a couple Sundays back when my mom was in town with some friends. I had yet to find a good Indian resturant in Atlanta since moving here in June. The food was incredible. The Samosas were the best I’ve ever had, the Chicken Tikka Masala was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy, and the Garlic Naan was heavenly. The service was terrific, two nice young girls who were friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I’ve been looking forwar to going back ever since.

Oh do i hate to write bad review, but sadly it must be done. I have had better Indian food from can maybe it was the buffet *shrugs* that is not to say that the staff wasn’t 100% wonderful. perhaps I’m spoiled from eating at more mom-n-pop places that do not tone down the spices. Thats not for me, give me Goan or give me death.

Actually more like 3.5 stars. As a review of the lunch is needed, I will happily oblige. Lunch is buffet style with many of the basics(Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, small array of chutneys and pickles) that are flavored well and taste fresh. The difference makers between this establishment and other Indian lunch buffets in the area(Swapna, which has a more extensive selection) are as follows: 1. As a promotion, each person in your party may order one item from the menu in addition to the buffet — great way to taste what the kitchen has to offer. This may not be available in the near future. 2. The Nan is baked on demand and brought to your table hot and fresh(nice touch). Certainly worth a try if you are in the area during the week at lunchtime.

Finally — a good Indian restaurant in Atlanta with Friendly service!!! I love Indian food, but don’t love driving 30 + miles to get to a restaurant. I admit I am OTP, but come on, we should have some decent Indian restaurants in Cobb. Service: Not only is the food some of the best I’ve ever had, the staff(ALLOFTHEM) are so helpful and friendly. We went there for my brother’s birthday and everyone was cheerful and so accommodating. Some of the other Indian restaurants in Atlanta could take their cues from this place on how to treat customers. Food: The Chicken Tikki Masala was perfectly flavored and just the right amount of spiciness. And the breads: Naan, Poori, etc, etc, — I could make a meal out of those alone! I love that they get that not everyone loves Chernobyl level spiciness. Would love to try the lunch buffet sometime. I bet its great.

Mediocre Indian food. I asked for the food to be spicy and it was mild. It had a lot of cream so it was rich but it wasn’t tasty. I wouldn’t go back but if you are looking for decent Indian food, this would be fine. The service was fine.
