I have had eye problems for years and she is by far (very, very far) the most amazing Optometrist I have ever visited. She is patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and great at what she does. More so than anything else — she cares! I have never once felt like ‘just another patient’ because she has gone above and beyond to help me through a unique glasses situation.
I would recommend without hesitation for anyone!

Eyes are very precious, so it’s very important to find a doctor who does a complete exam, tailored to the patient, and not a quota. Dr. Peterson is such a person. I became very accustomed to her excellent work, and then last year, she changed locations and I tried an exam with a different doctor; three visits later I got correct glasses. Today, I had my eyes examined by Dr. Peterson, so I’m thanking my lucky stars she is examining my eyes again.
There really are no words to describe her excellent manner, through exam, caring attitude, and on and on.

Our entire family goes to Dr. Peterson. She is truly the best! She is patient and accommodating with our son who can be pretty rough with his glasses. We can always stop by and count on her to make repairs/​adjustments. She also takes the time to answer all your questions and thoroughly explain things. I have been getting my eye care with Dr. Peterson for a number of years. She has been the absolute best at determining the optimum prescription for my glasses and multi focal contact lenses. She provides convenient and on time appointments with exams that are thorough and unhurried. She is very professional and knowledgeable as well as being warm, genuine and caring. The office is clean, comfortable and convenient, and offers a nice selection of frames. I feel very fortunate to have her taking care of my eye health and vision needs.

Dr. Peterson is the epitome of what every healthcare professional needs to be. She is highly competent and very professional (as doctors should be). But what sets her and her practice apart in my opinion is the way she treats her patients with utmost care and respect. When I call and see her for my regular eye exams or to order my contact lenses, I very much feel that I am treated as a real person and not just a patient with a number on file. It feels like being back in an era when doctors knew their patients well and really cared for them. Dr. Peterson and her staff Carol and Sandy just are the best! She is one of, if not the best doctor I have ever met. Our community in North County is fortunate to have Dr. Peterson.

I’ve been a patient here for a couple of years now, so this review is a bit overdue. What prompted me to finally write it, however, was my most recent experience. The other day, I put on my reading glasses only to have the metal at the corner of the frame crack unexpectedly causing the right lens to pop out. Since my glasses were irreparably damaged, I called the office the next morning and Dr. Peterson had me stop by that day. Turns out she had another pair of my exact frames in her display case so she just popped my lenses into those and I was on my way in about 10 minutes. No charge.
Overall, I’ve always had a really great experience during my annual eye exams; Dr. Peterson has a very kind, low-​key demeanor that puts one at ease right away. I was so complimentary of the service I’ve received here that my husband is now a patient of hers too, which is a big deal as his late father was an opthalmologist so he’s very particular. The office is small but cozy and well-​outfitted, tucked away on the second floor in the back of the Lomas Santa Fe Shopping Center. If you’re in the market for an eye doc, I highly recommend Dr. Peterson. She knows her stuff, is very professional, and runs a top-​notch practice.

Dr. Peterson had all of the same services as Lenscrafters and another neighborhood optometry I used to go to in Del Mar but what I am very pleased with Dr. Peterson’s service’s was her full attention to what I needed, including how I could maximize my vision insurance. I watched her grab a calculator and break down the comparison between which glasses/​lenses/​materials, etc., and how my medical insurance would work best for me.
Another detail I appreciate about this place is it was only Dr. Peterson who carried out all the examinations on me and not medical assistants.

OMG, I love Dr. Peterson. She is so gentle, patient, and PROFESSIONAL! I bet you will have the best eye exam experience with her!

Even though there are not fancy machines to measure your eye response time and progression of your blind spots in the office, Dr. Paterson is very patient with customers She did a careful work on determining the correction prescription and spend a lot of time answering questions. She is highly recommended for general eye care.

I take the extra drive from downtown San Diego to see Dr. Peterson-​Salgado. I love her kind and to the point demeanor, her clarity (no pun intended) and organized manner. Dr. Peterson took the time to read into my confusing «eye insurance» discount plan and made sure that I received all that I could for the benefits allowed.
Although I have gone to several optometrists and ophthalmologists over the many years that I have had glasses and contacts, Dr. Peterson-​Salgado was the first to recommend a plan that actually helped with my lens cloudiness long term.

Great location, always easy to park and there’s rarely any wait to be seen for an eye exam. If I have a question or want to order more contacts for my wife, it takes 3 minutes — someone always answers and knows what they’re doing.
We used to use Costco but it’s a pain — drive 20 minutes, get a ticket, wait 10 minutes, cash only. The other advantage is they have your prescription already so you don’t even have to bring that.

My family has been coming to see Dr. Peterson-​Salgado for the past three years and we are thrilled with her care and expertise!!! The only other optometrist I have ever gone to was my father, so when he retired I was worried. Finding someone I could equally trust, respect, and feel great about bringing my children to was a tough act to follow. Dr. Peterson-​Salgado was definitely the perfect choice! She is thorough, caring, knowledgable and has an amazing way with her patients.
My older daughter recently got her first pair of contact lenses and even though she is more on the squeamish side, the whole experience was positive and calm due to Dr. Peterson-Salgado’s demeanor and professionalism. I cannot recommend her enough!

While I have used Dr Peterson-​Salgado as my optometrist for several years and have been totally satisfied she really demonstrated her best qualities recently. My youngest brother is autistic and in his 50s, he is a nice person but can, because of his autism, be difficult to extremely difficult to deal with when change is needed. His eye glasses were very old and I knew that he hadn’t seen an optometrist in many years. Dr Peterson-​Salgado agreed to help and I brought him in for an exam. She was amazing and helped him accept a simple eye exam. As it turned out he need a major change in prescription (2 diopters!) and she fitted him with new glasses that work far better than his older pair. Dr. Peterson-​Salgado was patient, caring, and has made a significant difference in his life.
I cannot express just how grateful I feel about Dr. Peterson-Salgado’s professionalism and competence. With a patient who could, in an instant, be extremely difficult, she was reassuring, calm, and able to explain things on his level.
By the way, Dr. Peterson-​Salgado, is, for the rest of us, just as skilled and caring!
My sole regret is that I haven’t posted this sooner! However, I just saw my brother recently and got to see how much better his life is due to the aid Dr. Peterson-​Salgado provided.

I got my first pair of glasses since 6^th grade just a few weeks ago.
I was very pleased with Dr. Peterson who has taken the time to explain some things and even spent time with me to choose my first pair of glasses. She was very thorough with the examination and I felt at ease with her. I usually get very nervous whenever I’m being seen by any doctor. God knows they can make things hurt real bad. My palms still got sweaty but that was mostly because I just don’t like people anywhere near my eyes. Yep, I’m that person. Nightmare patient who refuses to admit anything.
Anyhow, Dr. Peterson was very personable and easy to talk to as well as professional. I was able to be honest with her and she gave suggestions that made sense to me. Large selection of designer glasses, which I was definitely happy about.
The glasses came within a week and I’ve never been happier about seeing a doctor. For some time I’ve refused to wear glasses. My vision seemed to have worsened over the past months and I was forced to make the decision to have my eyes checked. Dr. Peterson was gentle and calming, which helps quite a lot about my trust in her. It’s been two weeks since I’ve been wearing glasses everyday. I’m amazed at how I see now mostly because I’ve seen the world quite differently for many years. I now know what my friends are talking about when they asked me why I was dating all those guys I was «seeing».
I’m also surprised I’ve adjusted so well. I used to have really bad headaches when I had my first glasses in 6^th grade. I thought it wasn’t worth it. I now actually have much less headaches after having my glasses and I no longer have to sit at the front in class or movies. I also no longer have to squint or have my eyeballs kissing the screen of my computer. I’m quite surprised I can see the ocean so well from our living room. What a freaking view. I didn’t know. I’m still a jerk on the road but hey.
All in all, it’s been a life changing experience for me. I’m so glad I found Dr. Peterson who I found through Unilocal.Unilocal comes through for me once again.
Her office is open on Saturdays, which is great for me because I can never get off work without too much trouble.
