AMC Assembly Row 12

I love love love 3D IMAX! I watch almost anything that comes out action packed with these visuals. I have to admit the theater is nice, convenient, has great parking, and has a bar! Granted I have never ordered from the bar BUT if I ever wanted a beer before a movie that would be super convenient! Overall this is a great movie theater in a great location. No complaints!

I seriously want to love his theater but they’re making it impossible. Does anyone even clean the auditoriums in between shows? Doubtful. Every time I’ve been here (including right now) there has been popcorn on my seat or butter or something even worse. The floors are always disgusting and the bathrooms are even worse. I can’t say that this will be my first choice after all this but they need to clean up a little better.

Came to the AMC Assembly Row to see Stars Wars in IMAX/​3D and don’t plan on ever coming back to this theater. Why?
1. What is the point of assigned seats if your seat location gets ripped off when you enter the theater?! The best part was upon realizing this snafu, we asked an employee if it is possible to tell us our seats by scanning what remains of our tickets and the part that could have been scanned was also ripped off! There has to be a better way!
2. The struggle bus of a snack area. The concession stand is one of the top five hottest messes I have ever experienced. It’s hard to even put into words how annoying the overcrowded concession stand is. AMC, you need to seriously reconsider the set up you have at your Assembly Row theater or hire more employees. One person to make all the coffee drinks at peak times and then I have to get in a super long line to pay for the drink I just waited forever to get?! Not to mention, I think the system should work the other way around — receipt for goods handed in for said goods. I just can’t.
3. For a newer, souped-​up theater this just didn’t do it for me. I don’t think the viewing experience was any more enjoyable than the AMC Boston Common, the Somerville Theater or the Kendall Square Theater.
Bottom line: Did I see the movie I came to see? Yes. Do I want to give a place like this my business again? No.

Seating is fantastic! I loved the ‘clean’ reclining seats the theatre offered. The facilities were clean and the snacks were, well, snacks! Thanks for a great 3D film experience, AMC. A little advice, buy your tix online and skip the lines! If not, move outta my way bc I am coming through!

Really great movie theater! For a matinée, I paid $ 7 for a standard movie. The seats are like lay-​z boys, but they don’t recline. For $ 7, they don’t have to. There’s cupholders and plenty of space, so Chatty Chase next to you isn’t super annoying.
The snack bar is really cool, you go and pick out what you want and then pay at the counter. They give you cups for the drink machines (the awesome ones with 2 983 472 934 flavors) so you could probably snag a re-​fill (if you’re sneaky).
There’s free parking at Assembly, restaurants right next door, and lots of stores in case you want to stick around after your film.

This was an awesome theater. I’m a big fan for the following reasons:
Theater experience: the screen was really nice and large, the seats are huge and leather and some have footrests and recline nearly fully. There is a ton of space compared to most theaters I’ve been to as well. I also really like the fact that you can select seats beforehand– no having to rush and get there super early to claim a good seat– I wish more theaters did this.
Free parking– huge plus for a theater in this area.

Ok, I need to dock a few stars due the the completely UNACCEPTABLE bathroom maintenance.
The last few times I’ve been here there has been toilet paper all over the floors and on my last visit, my neighbor in the next stall and I apparently had to share a toilet paper roll (???) and we could even wave hello to each other due to a disturbingly huge hole in the tp dispenser area.
Get your **** together AMC Management!

Really nice movie theater. I like bringing people here. During the week days is very quiet and it’s nicely located near tons of stores, ice cream stores and restaurants! Nearby is a lake and a small park for the little ones, also Lego Land is right outside the theater. There a garage parking available as well as parking on the streets but it’s also conveniently located by the orange line so a train trip wouldn’t be that bad of a deal. The theater has really cool features like some new soda machines and they even have a bar and they allowed you to bring the booze inside the movie. I like it here a lot!

Pricey, but they have free parking, and assigned seats. The theater is new and clean, and the seats are really big and comfortable. The front row seats are really nice recliners.

This was the nicest AMC I’ve ever been to. It has big plush chairs, a bar, and is just top of the line. I love the Assembly Row location and can’t wait to go again!

Accessible via the Orange Line and there is adequate parking in both lots and garages.
There is a bar that offers a number of mixed drinks. The bartender is usually pretty slow so leave yourself extra time if you want a drink.
You can reserve your seats ahead of time which is nice if you are eating beforehand since you don’t have to rush over to get seats. The seats on the sides recline. The seats are pretty comfortable but the theaters are usually chilly so dress in layers.
Speaking of food, there are plenty of options in Assembly Row.
Overall, the theater is plenty clean so it’s usually by go to cinema in Boston.

A bar named MacGuffin’s (how cute) that has booze and will pour you doubles of wine, and charge you for two wines. I was feeling like a baller that day, as I somehow NEEDED two glasses of wine (both doubles)…I was seeing Trainwreck, don’t judge!
The snacks are the typical movie theatre snacks. The bathrooms could have been maintained a little better. I am always surprised that movie theatre bathrooms usually are in rough shape. I know no one wants to clean them but you really need to!
I’d give another star if they keep their bathrooms clean. Hey, after you drink a bottle of wine, you are gonna need to use the loo!

Hmm… been here twice now and here are my general questions/​comments for this AMC location:
–Design of the theater seating sucks. Why do you only get pull out footrests on the first few front rows of crappy seats and on the sides but not on the better seats in the middle? I don’t get it?
–No leg room. I’m 5′ 6″ and I barely had any leg room in front of me. We both had to move from side to side constantly throughout the movie.
Overall, one would think that this newer theater would have considered more modern ergonomics to ensure the patrons are more comfortable. Luckily, the movie and the company made up for it. AMC does have other locations that have better seating structure so I’m guessing this location is just a fluke.

Love this place. It’s comfy, clean, and just a nice theatre. Staff are cool and not rude to customers and honestly, good customer service keeps customers coming back. I mean, for serious.
Love that this theatre has a bar and a huge concession area. Parking is super accessible — my best friend parks on floor 3 right outside of the theatre for easy access. And the reclining seats — one of the best features ever. Staff are nice — they’re not mean and they want to make sure you’re happy with your movie watching experience.
After the movie, grab ice cream or a bite to eat around the way — lots to choose from :)

FREE parking is awesome as since I don’t have to fight other people for a metered spot downtown.
The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of leg space. The only issue I have is that they need to do a better job of cleaning their seats. I was appalled that upon arrival my chair had popcorn in sides of the seat, which I found definitely in unappealing. I was thankful enough there were open seats j could move to. I hope they can do a better job tidying up the theater. I sincerely wish next visit will be a much better experience, since I love the AMC brand.

So happy to have a movie theater this close to our house now! Assembly Row really has developed into something cool and impressive.
We’ve been to this AMC now about a dozen times and each experience has been great. The seats are super comfy, the sound is excellent, the staff are friendly, concessions are good, and the movie selection is vast. Location is key too. Reserving tickets online or through the AMC app is super easy and I love that you can pick your seats (I don’t need the stress of racing to the movie theater 30 minutes early just to fight tweens for seats to see Jurassic Word, thank you very much).
Definitely invest in the Stubs rewards program if you go to the movies a lot — definitely worth it for the perks/​rewards!

A reserved-​seat/​recliner/​deluxe theater that isn’t so fancy you can’t relax, but adds a touch of luxury to your movie-​going experience.
For a matinée of Avengers: Age of Ultron in 3D, I paid $ 13 buying my ticket online. I was able to pick out my seat ahead of time. There were 20 minutes of previews and commercials before the movie started, but I was comfortably seated. The wide armrests can be swung up creating a large sofa type area, which I took advantage of since I didn’t have anyone sitting next to me.
Small popcorn and a box of candy was another $ 12. I think everyone wishes movie and concession prices were lower, so I’ll take off a star for that. Parking was easy. There are metered spots at Assembly Row, a large parking lot across the street, and a parking garage right next to the movie theater.

The AMC in Assembly Row is a brand new movie theater and it is very nice but the only question you should be asking is this… Is this theater better than the IMAX in Reading? In my opinion, the gold standard in Greater Boston.
I have only went into their IMAX theater, as this place has a number of different screens. The first thing you’ll notice is the massive seats, they are so big that you’ll never have an elbow battle with your neighbor. This place also serves booze, which is pretty cool. However as far as the IMAX screen goes it is significantly smaller than the IMAX in Reading and I would argue that the one in Reading also has a better sound system. The screen is more like IMAX-​lite at Assembly Row.
While this is an excellent theater I think the slight edge still goes to the one in Reading.

Finally made my way out here for the first time the other day! At $ 13/​ticket, i think the experience was pretty great. I loved the plush comfy chairs and then fact that you could pick your seat in advance and then show up during the previews while inflicting minimal annoyance on the people around you. I also appreciate that this theater doesn’t do service during the movie, so there are no distracting iPad screens or chitchat.
Docking a star due to bathroom conditions. It’s only been a few months and already some of the stalls are destroyed. (yeah, that’s someone’s leg in the stall next to mine where some delinquant decided to take their aggression out on the TP dispenser).
