History

Established in 1977.

The Chestbed Store was established in 1977 in Petaluma, CA by William H. McGunagle. From the beginning the Chestbed Store specialized in making quality furniture built to last. The Chestbed Store was purchased by Kirk and Liz McGunagle in 1993. We are now located in the City of Sonoma at 800 West Napa St. The Chestbed Store has continued to grow with quality products available from companies such as Simply Amish, Copeland Furniture and Borkholder Furniture. Tempur-​pedic and Simmons mattresses are in stock at competitive prices as well as a full line of bedding and pillows. We offer delivery service throughout the San Francisco Bay area and beyond. I can’t say it enough how much I love my new Tempur-​pedic bed! I am somewhat athletic, so occasionally had my share of muscle aches and pains. The firmness and support of the mattress relieved all of that and it is at times difficult to get out of bed due to it being so comfortable. :) Liz is a pro and helped me pinpoint the correct firmness and overall it was a pleasure working with her due to her knowledge and no pressure sales approach. I highly recommend the Chestbed Store to anyone in the market for a bed.

We had to give up our king sized bed set when we moved. We are in a place with very small bedrooms. Thank goodness for the Chest Bed Store! We were able to pick out the features we wanted for our bed and he stained it to match the blanket chest we had held on to from our original king set. The storage space in both the bed and the nightstands meet our needs perfectly and we are extremely happy.

I bought a mattress at a great price at the Chestbed Store! The owner, Liz, was extremely helpful in explaining all the differences between the mattresses and helping me figure out which one was best for my needs. They have a nice selection of beds and bedroom furniture, too. My mattress was delivered for free the same day I bought it. What service! Thank you, Chestbed Store!

I have no problem with the matress set we bought from them but they sold my husband a $ 90 mattress pad that they wouldn’t take back. They convinced him it would keep away bed bugs but it is really a vinyl bed wetting pad that I refuse to put on my bed. Because I had taken it out of the packaging to look at, they said I couldn’t return it. They should have told us that when we bought it. Anybody want a cheap mattress pad? It’s for sale.
