King’s Paint & Paper has been in business for 37 years, serving Santa Cruz County with the finest selection of architectural coatings and paint sundries. Our staff has a cumulative total of over 100 years of paint experience. Being a small independent surrounded by big boxes and company stores, we are proud of our excellent reputation for customer service. Our product knowledge is unsurpassed, and we will take the time to answer each question thoroughly. History

Established in 1976.

Bill and Ron King purchased a small paint store in Santa Cruz in 1976. Both had sales backgrounds, and understood the necessity of excellent service. The store grew, and the present location on 41^st Ave. was purchased in 1983. The Scotts Valley store was opened a few years later.

Our continued success is based on the simple premise of the customer comes first.

Meet the Manager

Tom K.

Manager

Tom King, the General Manager of the Soquel and Scotts Valley stores, is the second generation of Kings at the stores. He started as a teen, helping to dust shelves and clean up. Now in his 30’s, his years of experience make him the «go to» person for paint questions. His knowledge of paint is only surpassed by his willingness to help our customers. Because of Tom, our color matching computer sits gathering dust. His ability to match both paint and stain colors by eye, and to teach others, make him a very popular person with both staff and customers.
