We bought a mattress system and oxygen pillows from them. We had excellent service from Jake, delivery was quick and seemless, and we have had the bed for about 3 months now and love it. Highly recommend!

Terrific service, terrific mattress! We are delighted and we are hard to please. We made a couple of trips (Palo Alto to Soquel) to test out their Berkeley Ergonomic mattresses and learned much from their staff. Jake went far beyond the call of duty in helping us come up with a configuration that was just what we wanted. From moving the mattress around to helping us design the slats we needed to achieve the firmness we wanted, he was key to our ending up with a mattress we love. SC41 also has a nice «buyer’s remorse» aid: you can swap the topper for a different one for a modest fee within the first 60 days. We have taken advantage of this and are thrilled. All in all, a great experience. We highly recommend SC41 and Berkeley Ergonomic mattresses.

I just received my customized walnut stain bed frame from SC41 and it is beautiful. The delivery guys were very prompt, friendly and did a great job with set up. The frame is exactly how I imagined it and more. Not only are the products they sell well made and beautiful, but the customer service has been exceptional. Lauren who is the one who helped me throughout the process, constantly kept me updated on the status and even wrote me a kind note that came when the bed was delivered. My parents also purchased their sofa and love seat from SC41 and have been very happy with the quality and again with the great customer service. I would definitely buy from them again.

Well…7 months later I am thoroughly disappointed in SC41, the products they sell and the service they provide. This is a follow up review that summarizes our poor experience that dragged on for 7 months without a proper resolution.
The Stuart Davis bed frame we bought arrived stinking of stain and was tacky to the touch. Areas were missing stain and I had to ask for touch up stain.
We also ordered a set of 4″ foundation slats for the King bed. You’d think they would actually be flat but they are at least ¼″ out per 4′. A replacement that was ordered was worse and we didn’t accept it.
While the delivery guys were prompt, they failed to properly assemble our bed. 3 return visits to fix it also failed and our bed is still a loud creaky mess.
I would absolutely avoid SC41. We are shopping for other pieces of fine furniture for our home and they have lost our business.
I’m sure the owner will post some fluffy response here about how sorry they are and how they tried to solve the issues… Blah, blah, blah… don’t believe their BS. It is hard to find quality furniture and service these days and SC41 thoroughly misses the mark in so many ways. I would not recommend buying even a $ 7 doorstop from them.
Don’t waste your time or money there.

Excellent post-​purchase service. We bought two Gibson sofa sleepers on sale. Problems arose with both more than six months later. Store personnel intervened on our behalf with Gibson, and obtained and installed replacement parts that fixed the problem at no cost to us. We were pleased with the furniture selection, the price, and the helpfulness of staff.

Just got a nice IMG chair for the living room. Perfect fit. Salesperson Lori very skilled, experienced and busy with others. Make an appointment or be prepared to wait. Salesperson Tony very helpful with excellent patience and nice product knowledge. The rest of the staff were pleasant to encounter too. Unfortunately the IMG manufacturer seems pretty disinterested in marketing sofas to match their chairs in the U.S.

AMAZING sales help! They were very patient and informative as we tried many different styles of chairs and were fonts of knowledge about each one. Obviously had done their homework. And exceedingly helpful picking fabrics and colors. They had a variety of price points. I had thought they offered only very high end, but actually the variety is very good.

I recently purchased a twin bed, bedside table, dresser, two end tables, and an area rug from SC41 and couldn’t be happier with the service I received from start to finish. From help choosing and ordering the furniture to its delivery and set up, the SC41 employees were friendly and knowledgeable. I love the repurposed-​wood bedroom set, the all-​natural wool rug, and the slate-​tile-​topped end tables for our den. Everything is superb.

They have beautiful furnishings and the owner is a really wonderful person. Yes, the pieces are expensive, so I’m saving up and will buy there when the time is right. Also hoping they get that huge chair and a half in a reclining version. :)

I purchased the bed there and it is the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had. The bed has no boxspring and a series of boards below. I was hesitant at first but I was convinced that they could make the bed comfortable. Seems that the bed I have is significantly harder than the one in store. They came out and move the boards around but it didn’t make any difference. I was given the wrong impression they would accept a return if this strange bed don’t work out.
I could not sleep on the bed and wanted to return it. They refused to accept return. All my future purchases will be at Macy’s where they accept returns

We recently purchased a king size Nobella 3 mattress and box slat set. We were impressed with the knowledge of the sales person regarding the proper mattress, how each of us sleeps and our individual concerns. We looked at other mattress sets and went back to purchase this one. We were told that it would be about 3 weeks before the delivery to their showroom. I called them after 3 weeks to check on the status and was told it would probably be in the next Friday. It would be checked for no damages. We set a tentative appointment for the next week to set it up with the agreement we would be contacted if there was a problem with the mattress or the scheduled date to deliver. The day scheduled there was no delivery and no call. I call them the next day and was told the mattress did not come in yet. Basically, this happened 3 times with no call regarding the cancellation of dates set or status of delivery. Finally it was delivered and set. The delivery techs were very professional and answered all of our questions.
I was setting up a file for the warranty and noticed that the warranty regarding the setting of the slats was incorrect. The store had a tech come out and check it. It had been set up incorrectly. If I had not noticed this mistake we would have paid several thousand dollars for a bed that was set up improperly for both of us.
I like the bed, I was impressed with the sales/​education and would recommend the bed but not the store. They need to work on customer service and follow up.

This store has wonderful furniture. The showroom is beautiful, and the quality seems very good. The sales process went smoothly. Unfortunately, follow up customer service has been deplorable. We ordered an Urban Woods bed back in the first week of July. When it came in, it was damaged, so steps were taken to expedite a replacement. We made calls along the way for status updates when it was supposed to be in, and with each call, the staff person said he would find out information and get back to us. He never contacted us, and we were left in the dark as to where our product was. I finally called the manufacturer myself, and she informed me that a second piece was delivered but was also damaged. (I don’t know why he didn’t just tell me that.). They were in the process of expediting a third piece to be sent up. It was supposed to be here no later than yesterday. Still no word from sc41. I called them, and was told she would find out and get back to me today. At this point I have little faith that I will hear anything without calling… again…tomorrow. Customer service has been evasive and ineffectual.

I was antiquing, looking for mission, or arts and crafts living room furniture, when my husband mistakenly pulled into the parking lot of this furniture store. I thought this may be a good omen and went inside to inquire about mission style furnishings. I was greeted by ****** ******. I had to state a second time that I was looking for mission style, arts and crafts furniture. Ok, now it clicked with her… I think. I stated that I wanted a coffee table set. She corrected me, by saying that they don’t sell sets, but individual pieces. Really?! Is that even worth mentioning. Individual pieces can be suited to a set. How about a response, «Coffee table set? We can do that!» For the record, that is strike two. She asked what my wood preference was. First I stated maple, or oak, or that it really didn’t matter. I was interested in ALL wood furniture, and it was the style that I was mainly concerned with. I told her I was antiquing looking for Stickley furniture. She didn’t seem impressed. Perhaps if she knew how expensive Stickley furniture is. A bell should have sounded in her head, and got her to thinking, I have a good customer here, who wants to spend good money on quality furniture. Let me bring her around to show her how this furniture compares. She instead pulled out a couple of catalogs. Do you know what size coffee table you want? Yes, 20×36 x, she cut me off. I was going to say by 40″. Cutting a person off, while talking is a no no! The size didn’t really matter though, as, again, I wanted to start with the design style first. The configuration would have been a better question. To that answer, I am looking for a rectangular table, to fit an L shaped configuration, for a leather sofa and love seat. Doesn’t that make more design sense, than do you know what size coffee table you are looking for?! I told her I just purchased an Elite brand leather sofa set, and that is mid high grade furniture. Can you give me an idea as to the quality grade furniture you are showing me? Rather than answer the question, she said that the furniture was made on the East coast, probably North Carolina, or something. They make to order. So what! That is standard. Made to order doesn’t tell me the quality, or the customer satisfaction. Is it heirloom furniture? Will it last 20 years? I wasn’t satisfied with her answer. She started off with I don’t know what Elite furniture is. She didn’t know who Bradington Young was either. She only knew the brands she sold. I was never given an answer as to the quality of the furniture they were selling. Is it an 8 on a scale of 1 — 10? Educate me. That was strike 4! This experience is wearing me down, and at this point I am no longer interested. By the way, I was not impressed with her limited choices in her catalogs and asked her to write the manufacturer on the business card, so I could get out of there: Stuart David furniture. I left with a feeling that this sales lady did not listen to my wants and desires. She needs to be educated in different manufactures, even if she doesn’t sell them. She needed to know that I was looking for high quality, all wood furniture in a mission/​arts and crafts styling. I don’t think she understood. A word of advice from one sales lady to another: Listen to your customers, and when you speak, do so without talking down to them!

I love the furniture here. It’s beautiful, customizable… however, pricey. But, it seems that it would be worth it for quality local furniture. However, I have been very underwhelmed by the customer service. I walked the entire store last weekend without even being greeted. If I am going to save my money for a quality piece of furniture, I don’t think I will be getting it here.

I had been shopping mattresses for over a year and on a whim I went with my wife to SC41 to look at side tables. We looked at their side tables… then started looking at mattresses.
I was less concerned with the overall presentation and more concerned with finding a mattress that was not going to let me down. The right mattress was all that mattered.
Long story short, we pulled the trigger on an SC41 mattress, 2 oxygen pillows and mattress cover.
The mattress was delivered on a Tuesday (Feb 2014) and that night, my life was transformed. My old mattress had left me with severe shoulder pain. Within three days I was sleeping on my back again and my should paid was subsiding.
More so than the pain relief, I felt like I was on vacation. Sleeping had immediately taken on a whole new meaning, I couldn’t wait to get in bed and get cozy… this was my first king size bed and the comfort, the size and overall quality were realized that day.
It is now 2 months later, I couldn’t be happier. The mattress is great, the delivery people were great, sales staff were great, and I tell everyone I know about my experience.
The pillow is worth the money, the pillow case and mattress pad/​cover are worth the investment… We are very pleased.

The snobby and uptight attitude of the customer service made me feel uncomfortable shopping here. I don’t know how people can do business by making their customers feel unwelcome, especially since their prices are very high $$$$+ ! They do get credit for nice quality furniture and modern clean style but they need to let their customers feel free to walk around without hovering and not be so snotty. Due to the bad experience I had, I will not be returning.

A lot of stores sell furniture and a select few sell excellent furniture, but in the end it is customer loyalty that build a lasting and thriving business. In almost all cases customer loyalty has at its root GREAT customer service.
SC41 deserves a five star rating from our family for their wonderful furniture and their tremendous customer service and follow through we recently received.
We bought a sofa and matching chair — plus two fantastic Norwegian-​made leather recliners almost two years ago. While we have loved our recliners, the sofa and matching fabric chair have always seemed a bit under-​stuffed to us. We reached out to the store and they re-​stuffed our cushions at no additional charge. Mind you, this was almost two years later. Shame on us for living with this for two years but KUDOS to SC41 and their terrific employee Sandra for making us happy and ensuring our customer loyalty to this great store.
If you are looking for great furniture and awesome customer service, you cannot go wrong at SC41!

We purchased wedges to sleep with and had to return them as they did not work for us. We were charged 20% restocking fee. We are dissatisfied with our service.

We didn’t purchase our Ekornes sofas from SC 41 but when we need a repair they did everything possible to get them fixed and find the correct parts even though the sofas were over 10 years old. Thank you for your help and we will be telling friends and family to shop at SC41 and experience their wonderful customer service.

I saw an ad for the Oxygen Pillow to help with snoring and sleep apnea. This has been a problem for us, with me waking my husband up probably 15 times a night to try and get him to stop snoring. Needless to say, my sleep wasn’t very good either. We went to SC 41 to check it out. Michael, the owner, helped us find the right pillow, answered all our questions, and was very helpful. Well, the first night, there was no more snoring! We are so grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 2 weeks and counting of blissful sleep.
