Deckrete Concrete Resurfacing & Waterproofing

I contacted Victor about doing a stamped overlay on an existing concrete patio that was chipped in certain areas. He was very responsive before the job was secured. He came to the job site, showed me options and provided a reasonable estimate. Consequently the job was his.
The stamped overlay turned out nice. It was on point; however, there were many important details that Victor and his crew overlooked.
1) As concrete professional, Victor and his crew should know to wet the ground before sanding it in order to minimize airborne debris. Dust particles were EVERYWHERE. When we asked about it, he just said, «This is how it is,» and proceeded to do nothing. They only wet the ground AFTER we insisted on their doing so.
2) The access door to the garage, which is right next to the patio, was not able to open. Victor and his crew did not account for the clearing of the access door to the garage. The top layer of the work was stuck to the access door. I had to use a flathead screwdriver to get the door to open and swing.
3) The paint used on the patio was also on the wall. Victor and his crew failed to use enough covering on the wall adjoining the patio. When I removed the paper there was a very obvious line of paint spray along the wall.
4) The job site was not thoroughly cleaned up on Victor and his crew’s departure. There was debris remaining from the removal of the chipped layer of the old patio at the edge of the lawn and in the flower beds by the patio.
I called Victor several times to voice my dissatisfaction regarding the paint and debris. After several rescheduling attempts, he did come and paint the wall; however, he did not pick up the debris. I contacted him again. He told me he was at a job out of town and would call me back on ¹²⁄₂₁. He never did. I reached out again after the holidays; he texted to say he would call me… and then he never did. Needless to say, I am not a happy customer.
This was a job that started out well but ended disappointedly due to Victor’s failure to attend to the details and his not being accountable for his work. Four stars for the stamped overlay; one star for the service and unprofessional mannerism

We had our pool deck redone by Deckrete a few years ago and they did a great job. They came in at a fair price and got the work done in a timely manner. They were professional and were able to solve several issues our old deck had previously. At that time we worked with Nick Romo and he was always prompt and professional and the job went smoothly. We were happy with the result. So, when we decided to have some more work done in our back yard we thought we’d try them again. I wasn’t able to get a hold of Nick from his direct line, perhaps he isn’t with the company anymore? I called their general number and left a message. I didn’t hear back from them that day or the next. A week later someone calls me from Deckrete and I had already forgot about them because they hadn’t replied to me. The guy said he was on vacation so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He said he would be able to come over the next day to do an estimate and he seemed eager to do the job after we discussed it. I didn’t expect it so soon after and I was fine with any time the next week but he was the one who set the time for 5:30 the next day and said he’d text me when he’s on his way, so I set that on the calendar. The next day 5:30 comes around and no one shows up, no text either. It’s a Friday so I figure he could be in traffic. 5:45 comes up and still no one, no call, no text, nothing. So, I called him and left a message just to see if we were still on. I received nothing. I gave him until 6:30 thinking maybe he’s in bad traffic or his clock is an hour off… still nothing. We ended up just having dinner and completing our errands that we put off to accommodate this guy. I even gave him the next day to get back to me, a call, a text, something just to confirm he was still interested in doing the job. I guess not because it’s now Monday and I still haven’t heard from him. It just makes me feel like they’re unreliable and I wouldn’t have expected that seeing how well Nick had done the job for us previously. Again, maybe he’s not with the company anymore? But I just add this to the long list of vendors who don’t return calls. We’ve had the toughest time just trying to get a hold of a company who wants to work. A simple call makes all the difference, no one believes in customer service anymore. Really disappointing.

Outstanding ! this is a company that takes pride in customer satisfaction. 4 years ago we had a complete from/​back yard driveway and all around the house concrete overlay done by Victor and Deckrete. Last week I called them back for a «beautification» Victor answered all my questions and offered great ideas in choosing new design, colors, etc. After agreeing to a very reasonable price he started working right away, the result was simply stunning.
Deckrete’s quality of work is unparalleled, honest and reliable.

Victor was recommended by a company in Orange County that did not come to the San Gabriel Valley. He responded immediately to my phone call, came on time to our appointment and gave us a price to resurface 2000 feet of 35 year old stained and cracked concrete driveway. He does beautiful work but he also gave us some excellent suggestions about color and patterns. He recommended doing more than we had originally thought to do, because he saw where the cracking was and by following his suggestions to cut some additional expansion joints, we hopefully will minimize the cracking going forward. He was on the job every day, cleaned up after himself, helped us decide what to do to make the driveway look better than it looked when it was new. I have to say that when my husband said he wanted to resurface the driveway, I thought it was a dumb idea, but now that I see it done, I am enthusiastic and cannot recommend Victor enough. Don’t know what else he does, but if you have a cracked old nasty stained driveway, this resurfacing process can make it look fantastic.

He was able to give me a competitive price on the spot for the project, which included a concrete colored and stamped overlay in my backyard, demolition of a huge rocky waterfall and new concrete, replacing affected pool trim tile, and adding some drains. The job took two weeks, and the team showed up every day to work non-​stop until it was done. They were friendly, efficient, and clean. Most importantly, the backyard looks great!
