After working for a local septic company while in college I started to realize the pressing need for a local septic company that was professional and reasonable.

Preventative Septic is a company that looks corporate on the outside but is «Mom and Pop» on the inside. Our passion is to work with people and their particular situation, keeping their timeline and budget in mind.

It is simple, we treat people the way we would like to be treated!

A lifelong Hamilton resident it is my pleasure to live and work in and around the North Shore area.

I am a family man with 4 young kids ages 5,6,8 and 10, I am not sure that I am going to survive this period of my life!

Providing professional service and solving peoples problems with common sense and communication is what I concentrate on most. The work itself is strait forward but combining the work with the customers individual situation, that is the challenging part that still keeps me going!

Their price is considerably lower than others out there and from my brief conversation with John, the owner, I can tell that he is a man of integrity. He didn’t charge to uncover because it was an easy dig and easily accessibly and also recommended pumping 5 years vs every other year. (Note, his recommendations for how often to pump will vary based on different factors). In our home, we only have 2 adults and 2 toddlers. We also have not pumped in the last 3 years, and while others may have taken advantage of this fact, he said the septic tank was working beautifully and still did not to be pumped. He was in and out in 20 minutes, and took very good care of our lawn and flowers. When he was finished, it looked as if it had never been touched. He also noted something needed to be changed that was an easy fix for those that are handy, but unfortunately we are not. Instead of having us bring another plumber out, he offered to return next week to do it himself, just because he knows how. His business is based on honesty and doing right by customers. If you need a Title 5 or septic service, I would highly highly recommend him in a heartbeat. Guys like John are a rare find.

Used these guys a couple weeks ago for Title V. Fast response, great work. They were very friendly and had an extensive knowledge surrounding septic systems, laws and regulations. They also took good care of the lawn when digging up the system. I would recommend them any day.

Dustin, Jon, and the whole team at Preventative Septic was awesome from start to finish. I can’t say enough about how pleased we are. Aside from being total pros, they are super nice guys who take the time to go the extra mile and are helpful in having you understand what’s going on. Maybe it’s because the business is family-owned, but they clearly make it a priority to do the right thing by their customers, not just what will make more money. You can’t help but think that’s rare and worth its weight in gold! Our specific situation was very complex, and the team showed amazing expertise, reliability, and friendliness the entire time. Awesome Service !!
Friendly phone calls. They came when they said they would.
Jon & Dustin got to work straight away to clean out our sewer-ejector pump chamber. Within 30 minutes everything was clean and fully operational again. All the while they were working, they were explaining what they were doing and telling us how we could prevent the problem from occurring again.
It’s nice to find people like this who do a great job and have a smile to go with it.

Couldn’t be more pleased with the team at Preventative. The response time for a title V inspection was prompt and professional. The weather was not playing very nice for the required conditions to preform the inspection, but regardless, Dustin and his team kept their schedule open for me. They checked the forecast each day to see when it was possible. Finally the day came when the inspection could be performed. They were respectful of my yard and made sure to cause the least disruption to my work schedule. Can’t thank them enough! Best price, best service, highly recommend this A++ service team to anyone!

It stinks when your drains clog. Literally. Who do you call when you’re in a panic? Take a deep breath (outside your home) and dial this company. The calm receptionist arranged for Chris to get to my house within hours, and he showed up on time! Chris is the kind of guy you want in an emergency. He’s fast, thorough and even looked at something unrelated to the drain clog (my broken sink plug) and actually showed me how easy it would be to fix it. The price was reasonable. If God forbid this happens again, I’ll call them again.
Update: I had to call them again! Arghhh! Chris Campbell arrived in an hour and spent two hours removing roots. My partner said that he’s never had such a professional, clean and friendly service guy as Chris. That’s quite a compliment. Chris is gone out on his own, though Preventative refer business to him and vice versa. His new business number: 978.922.3274.

This is the second time we have used them and the prompt, friendly and professional service we received the first time was no fluke. On New Year’s Eve we found that our septic was backing up into our basement bathroom — yuck! We called and got the answering service who said someone would get right back to us — (where have I heard THAT before?!) True to their word, Chris called back within 10 minutes, listened to our problem and said he would be at our house in an hour and 15 minutes. He lied — he was there in under an hour. Chris determined that we had a clog and not the full tank we were dreading. While he went to the truck to fetch the power drain auger, I rolled out construction paper to preserve our carpeting. No need! Not only did Chris offer to remove his shoes, he wiped down the machine and thoroughly cleaned the wheels despite the paper path. While he worked he patiently and informatively answered all my questions about septic maintenance, drain cleaning etc. He had every opportunity to «up sell» us on a tank pumping and inspection but instead gave us insightful and HONEST advice. What’s up with that? So… if you need excellent service from a company that works cleanly and prides itself in their reputation for fast, friendly and fair service — Preventative Septic and Drain should be the only call you need to make. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!
