The very pretty blonde lady, janine? I cant quite remember her name but she is AMAZING. I’m so greatful for her. I was almost 9 months pregnant when my home got fourclosed on and i was given less than 1 month to move out. I was FREAKING out. I personally had no past rental history or anything like that so no place would accept me. I came into this coldwell 5 days before i had to be out of my other apartment, applied for a place and the next day got it!!! i hardly made my deadline to be out, Ill forever be greatful for their help. I had my son just a couple weeks later and i enjoy my home. We now need a bigger place so we went back to the same woman and she found us a really nice townhome style apartment and we will be moving in March 1^st !!!

save some time and money by not going with these guys. rented a house in lake tahoe. still now the experience is not good. i have to run behind these guys to get the deposit back. i have rented places across US. these guys are not professional

We rented a property from McKinney in the Tahoe Keys area during the weekend of Feb 14^th. The reservation was paid in full incl. cleaning fees etc for a total of $ 850. After our stay I noticed they charged an extra $ 500 to my Mastercard without authorization. Upon calling their office the only explanation provided was we moved the owners personal items from a closet and hence this was a PENALTY. The house that was rented was in good condition but the owner had many closets and drawers stocked with their own items — looked like they use this home as a storage. We had to move some items out to put in our stuff — we were a party of 2 families with 4 kids and needed to store ski jackets, other stuff!
We have been renting vacation homes in Tahoe for over a decade now and never had a problem like this.
I have spent 2 weeks now calling McKinney’s office. They keep promising the Manager will call back but we have not heard from them. I checked with other ski buddies and found 2 other families who had a similar unauthorized charge placed on their cards after renting from McKinney — in both those cases — the company cited extra cleaning charges for upto $ 400.

Horrible business! Will never rent nor buy from this company. We went to help a disabled vet move into her place. It was still under construction, carpets ripped up, unlivable conditions. They wouldn’t put her in a hotel (which they are legally obligated to do), said they had no money. How could they have no money? Told her to pay for it but she couldn’t because she paid first-​last-​and deposit and had no more money. They told her they could put her in a vaca rental for the night that had 10+ stairs (how do you do that in a wheelchair??!). Left her homeless for the night so some locals found her a place to stay. How do you treat a veteran like this!!! Will be calling news stations, newspapers and an attorney. Worst company ever! Shocked and appalled by how lazy and incompetent this company is.

This is how I rolled (on a wheelchair) into my «new» apartment yesterday, the day the lease started. Unbelievable. I am disgusted that they would have me move into this. (Posting pictures)

Do NOT rent from these people! It will cost you a lot of money and aggravation!
The manager is a really nice person but the staff is not very helpful and treats you like you’re inconveniencing them.
I rented a house during the Yosemite fire for move in a month later (all of Tahoe was smoky). They promised the house would be clean when I moved in. I arrived with a moving truck and 3 men to help unload. When I walked in the house I almost vomited. The house had been vacant for months, the carpets had been saturated with cat urine in the front 2 bedrooms, the kitchen cabinets had rotten food in them, the oven had a thick layer of baked on gunk. Everything was filthy and disgusting — from the countertops to the windows. No one had gone through the house in months.
They did apologize and sent a cleaning company in and we scrubbed for 3 days (the cleaning company, me and my mom). They also sent someone in to clean the carpets, which they did with the caveat that the carpets needed replacing and no amount of cleaning would remedy the smell.
The carpet company agreed and measured for new carpet.
During this time I needed a remote for the garage door opener (which should have been provided but wasn’t). They sent someone out to unlock the manual half of the garage that had no key and was also supposed to bring a remote for the electric half. The man didn’t bring the remote, so I bought one and attempted to program it myself and with the help of a neighbor. No go on that — never did get it to work.
The owner of the house refused to replace the carpet! So I started looking for another house. Inventory was low so when I did find a place (renting from the owner who was also the builder!) I couldn’t move in for 3 weeks. We had a POD delivered and loaded everything into the POD where it would be stored in Reno until the move in date. I drove back to Arizona (12 hours) and waited to move — again!
Please learn from my mistake. This company cost me thousands of dollars and 2 months of extreme stress. Do NOT do business with them!

Look, no vacation rental property is going to be without its warts at the price point we wanted to pay. But I will say this company treated us well. When we had some problems with one of the units, they upgraded us and gave us a gratis night. This was over the July 4^th weekend by the way. I will definitely use this company again the next time we go to S. Lake.

I rented from a vacation condo from them, and there were pros and cons. For one, I liked that there was massive selection to choose from, and all I had to do was drop a $ 20 deposit and a photo copy of my driver’s license to check out the places on my own.
Another thing I liked is that as soon as I needed anything fixed, they were on it right away.
The thing I dislike is that the service is completely apathetic. They will do the least amount of friendliness and personal touch necessary to handle your transaction. True, they may be efficient, but when they’re chilly, it doesn’t make you feel secure knowing someone cares about your needs.

I had my property listed with them for quite awhile. The results were ok at first but they did not give me copies of the lease even though I asked many times. The second tenant they put in my unit was evicted for non payment and the Property Manager was hesitant to evict him even though he was very late with rent. They finally got him evicted for me for a hefty legal fee (over $ 1000). I was really dissatisfied with their customer service and could not in good faith recommend this company for property management services. In the end I lost a lot of money using this company.
