We pride ourselves in taking full advantage of the Lake Tahoe area and include fun activities that you can only experience here. All sitters are C.P.R. and First Aid Certified.

History

Established in 2009.

Lake Tahoe Sitters provides your family with dedicated Lake Tahoe childcare professionals so that you and your family can have a wonderful Lake Tahoe vacation. Not only will your children be in the hands of a babysitter with at least five years of extensive childcare experience, who is currently CPR and First Aid Certified, you can be assured your children will also be having a fun, interactive time in Lake Tahoe. Our compassionate Lake Tahoe babysitters will coordinate arts and crafts projects, participate in games and role playing, and take your children outside to enjoy many of Lake Tahoe’s activities.

Our wide range of Lake Tahoe Babysitters, are all unique in their childcare backgrounds, experience in Lake Tahoe, and enthusiasm and creativity when caring for children.

We had a great experience with Lake Tahoe Sitters. Lyndsay helped us confirm a sitter within 24 hours and sent a confirmation, a bio for our sitter, and a number we could reach her to discuss beforehand. The ONLY thing I could think of that would have put us even more at ease is if they included some written references (or even Unilocal reviews) specific to our sitter, so maybe just a suggestion for the future.
Megan, our sitter was great and our 4 year old said she had a lot of fun. Megan did a good job dealing with our challenging 2 year old as well… highly recommended and thank you! If we’re in the area again and need a sitter we’ll be reaching out again and will refer our friends too!

Great experience. We hired Lake Tahoe Sitters to do daycare for 17 kids during our wedding. They did a great job! They had 14 kids running around ages 5 – 12 and 3 babies under 18 months old. We did not hear one bad thing from the parents or the sitters. They are very professional and I had full trust in them. I would recommend and use them again. It worked out great for our wedding guests to drop off their children and attend our wedding worry free.

We had a fantastic experience with Lake Tahoe Sitters! Booking was easy. Payment terms were clear. We had Ali for our babysitter. She was professional, friendly, and trustworthy. She sat in the house while our babies slept, and we went to dinner. It was fabulous. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the service again, and I’d be thrilled to get Ali again!

We just found Lake Tahoe sitters on the Internet a few weeks ago and used them this past holiday President’s weekend. We rented a cabin with one other family who has 3 boys, I have one 4 year old and other friends came last minute with their 4 year old girl. Lyndsay was awesome! Took on the extra girl with no problem. She is very nice and professional. The kids loved her too! Under the circumstances with 4 crazy boys from the ages of 5 – 1 years old and then one 4 year old girl — she had her hands full, but watched them with ease. Have nothing but great things to say and will use them again (Lyndsay I hope) on our next trip to Lake Tahoe.

Was referred to Lake Tahoe sitters by my hotel and am so glad we used them. I booked way ahead of time and there was no issues when it came time to have the sitter come on time. I used two nights in a row and got the same sitter Katie. My son did great with her and she was very friendly and did not mind that we came back late in the evening. Lyndsay watched our 9 month old daughter for a few days over the New Year holiday weekend. We thought she was professional, very sweet, and easy going. I would definitely recommend her. After two days with our daughter she had taught her to wave, which was something she had started doing but really had not done before. Now as we are home she is still waving :)
The service is worth the money, and I would use her again if ever needed.

We used Lake Tahoe Sitters for a couple days over the holidays in 2013. Lyndsey (who is the owner) was our sitter. She was terrific with 3 kids ranging in age from 3 months to 26 months. She was early to arrive both days, asked good questions and seemed prepared/​experienced, and was very flexible about all the chaos (including some colds/​sick kids) and timing changes that we presented to her. She held down the fort, got the kids fed and napped, and everyone seemed reasonably happy. She offered to get things cleaned up if we gave her a heads up when we were leaving the mountain, and was flexible about our last day cancellation when the snow was suboptimal. We will definitely use Lyndsay again when we’re in South Lake Tahoe, and found that if there are 2+ kids involved it’s as cheap or cheaper than the on-​mountain daycare prices (and, added bonus of not hauling kids around or worrying about specific closure times).

The service was ok but there is certainly *no* courtesy when it comes to charging the next hour.
Update: We now had several other experiences with baby sitters and it turns out all of them were able to put out little one to sleep by 9 at the latest while the Tahoe sitter did not have him asleep at 10pm! We still don’t know what the problem was and never got an explanation. I do recall that it was at least 85 °F in the room when we got back.
Overall, looking at all the extra charges, the lack of courtesy and the service rendered my wife and I thought we should reduce the rating to 2 stars.

We were generally happy with the service that we got from the sitter (even though she did not succeed in putting our little one to bed which left that to us) but the reason for giving only 3 stars is that we were back in time (with maybe 3min to spare) and still got charged for the next hour because the sitter did not leave until the hour was full. This is very little courtesy I would say. You better plan on being back *at least* 20min prior to the next hour starting and make sure on the form they did not charge you for the next hour.
