All of the other reviews for this company are spot on. One word– shady. Had a visit to ER in 2014 and I just now get my first bill from them in 2016 and it’s a past due balance, apparently. And that’s the first I’m hearing of it. I call billing services to look at the account balance online & pay the bills in question, and of course no one in the billing department knows how to access the online bill pay for me to view the account. They offered no help and just kept going back to the option of taking my CC over the phone. I would love to see the full balance to make sure there won’t be anymore mysterious bills appearing, say in 2017 for a 2014 visit… Side note– wont’ ever go to Barton again.

I came in thinking I fractured my arm and had an xray done. Nothing was found and I was released right away. The exorbitant bills I keep receiving for this service are beyond ridiculous, and this organization is taking advantage of the tourists in the region.

We had the same problem that previous reviewer notes above. Visited Barton Memorial Hospital Emergency Room with our young son in late September 2014 and provided our insurance information. Barton billed our insurance and we paid the required Emergency Room Visit copay. Then started receiving bills from Tahoe Emergency Physicians Medical Corporation. This group conveniently has no record of our insurance information and never bothered to ask us for it before sending us pre-collections notices. On the back of their bill, there is a statement that says«if you provided valid insurance information at the time of your visit, your insurance company has been billed and you are responsible for the balance as indicated on the front page of this statement.» They never submitted any claims to our insurance company. VERYSHADYBILLINGPRACTICES!

Very sketchy business model IMO. Service at Barton Memorial hospital ER10÷25÷13, first bill received 2÷23÷14, and they never billed my insurance! Had to give them the information; which apparently they have no access to, or didn’t bother to get while working at the Barton hospital! Just received the full bill again 7÷18÷14. Talked to my insurance company again, and they said it is at the whim of the service provider if they want to take your insurance, and now it is timed out for my insurance company to accept the claim. Thanks a lot Barton for preferring my money over a insurance company! I feel totally stupid for going to Barton again, after this same type of behavior has happened in the past :( Very sour taste!
