Specialties

We’re a specialty toy and book store that takes great pride in calling itself «not your ordinary toy store.» We’re proud to be included in BuzzFeed’s recent article «17 Toy Stores That Will Change Your Kids’ Lives» with other toy stores in cities like London, Tokyo, NYC, and Chicago.

Our online store is nothing but dinosaurs, but our South Pasadena store, while featuring a Dinosaur Room, also includes a Pink & Purple Room, and book area, an infant area, a science section and a game section. We take a lot of care in stocking these sections with unique, quality toys and we encourage hands-on play in different parts of the store.

Dinosaur fans will of course find almost anything they can think of that relates to dinosaurs. If you need a specific dinosaur, come find me (Dave) and, assuming someone makes it, I’ll track it down for you.

History

Established in 1994.

We set out in 1994 to be «Not Your Ordinary Toy Store» and, while we carried a lot of dinosaur merchandise, we carried a lot of other cool non-mass merchandise toys (and books) too. In 1999, we opened our internet site, which, unlike the store, carries only dinosaur –related toys, games, books, etc. Our goal is to make the shopping experience fun for the parent and the child. There are several play areas where the kids can play and we’re ready to lend an hand to anyone who needs help finding a gift. We’ve always offered free gift wrap, as well.

In addition to numerous local «best toy store» awards, we were named as one of «10 Amazing Toy Stores in America» by Forbes online site, ForbesTraveler.com. This year we were named by BuzzFeed.com as one of «17 Toy Stores That Will Change Your Kids’ Lives», which included stores from all over the world.

Meet the Business Owner

David P.

Business Owner

I’m a former professional musician/songwriter, who’s had songs covered by Robert Cray, Kenny Loggins and others, in addition numerous tv shows. I still feel like a musician who’s running a toy store, but we’re celebrating our 20th year in business, so maybe I’m a toy store owner who plays music? Whatever, I love doing both and will continue to do so for a long time.
