Salon Entre Nous

On a search to find a good hairdresser I booked an appointment at this salon because it’s so close to my house and it looked nice. The women were friendly and the salon is very modern. I came in to get a few highlights, they set me up in the waiting area and started foiling my hair which I thought was very weird. I told the women I wanted a little more blonde on the front of my hair and I ended up with a white strip in the front and no highlights anywhere else. Only giving it two stars because the price was reasonable. Overall I was disappointed I won’t be back.

Had a couple of odd experiences here. This salon was recommended to me when I first moved to the area as «the» salon to go to. The first three times I went I was mostly satisfied. The stylist did a good job with the cut and highlights I’d been receiving. Then things took a turn for the weird. I showed up for an appointment on time, and my stylist mentions that her cousin is coming in to get her hair done. I didn’t think anything of it, and figure her appointment must be after mine. The cousin came in soon after and sat in the stylist chair while I was in the waiting area. I hear them talking, laughing and having a great time while I read a magazine promoting plastic surgery. I then looked up and see the cousin heading over to the sinks. Okay, maybe someone will shampoo her hair while my stylist throws my color in. Wrong. The stylist washes her hair, conditions it, and walks her back to the chair and proceeds to cut her hair. My stylist then instructs an assistant to give me a «good, long shampoo». I didn’t need a good, long shampoo, I needed my hair cut on time. The stylist came over much later and said, «Oh sorry about that, she really needed to get out of here». So she essentially bumped my appointment without consulting me to accomodate her cousin. Totally unprofessional.
On the next occasion, I wanted to change the color of my hair completely. My stylist was very good with blondes, and she frequently suggested blonde colors to me, but it looked bad with my coloring. The stylist wasnt experienced with the red shade I wanted, and wasn’t comfortable doing it, but said she’d try. It did not come out well, but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was when I called to make another appointment and requested a different stylist who was more experienced with the haircolor I was hoping for. The receptionist flat out refused to make an appointment with another stylist and said I could only see the stylist I had been going to. When I questioned this further she said all of the other stylists were booked and werent accepting new clients, and I could only re-​book with my current stylist. Really? Does that make any sense at all? Why would a client be forced to see a stylist they’re uncomfortable with? I have never heard of such a policy at a salon. A little customer service goes a long way. I did not go back.

My first visit and I had my hair done by «Lisa.» Gorgeous color and cut and much more reasonable then Newton, where I live or Newbury St. Great cut and a lovely experience. I will be back, again, again and again. Gorgeous, soothing salon. Many extra service, too!

I have been going to this salon for a couple of years, I used to think it was worth spending an exorbitant amount of money there for a decent cut and color. Recently though I have not had good experiences and will not be going back. They seem to burn through stylists at a rapid rate which means you never know who you may end up with and what their skill level is. Personally I begrudge spending $ 200, plus tip for a wash cut and color with a stylist who should probably be working at the Hair Cuttery, not a salon that touts itself to be ‘Newbury st in the burbs’. I left my last appointment there with an inch of hair dye below my hairline along my forehead. I didn’t notice it until I was home and getting ready to attend an event. I called the salon and asked to speak to the owner to let her know about my experience. I am still waiting to hear from the owner. In a nut shell-​over priced, over rated, don’t bother.

I came to this salon for a cut and color. I was very nervous, as my old stylist had left the field after 10 years of doing my hair. This salon far exceeded my expectations. Not only was everyone I talked to very knowledgeable, the salon itself is beautiful! The price was more than fair for the service and customer service I received. The inside is beautiful and tastefully decorated, yet not overdone or intimidating. I felt right at home.

I love Entre Nous. It’s so convenient being right off of Route 9.
They offer everything from head to toe. The salon is very clean and organized.
I started going to Mei LIng a couple of years ago. I have very curly hair and have never been able to get it to the length I wanted. With her help, it’s at a perfect length and she does a fabulous job on my foils. I’ve never received so many compliments on my hair before seeing her. She is my personal hair Dr.
All the girls who work there are incredibly helpful and nice. My 3 daughters go to whomever is available.
You can also sneak in a mani/​pedi while your color is processing.

I got a mani pedi here and it was not horrible, but not something I would ever pay for full price (I used a groupon). The Groupon was also for a 90 minute hot stone mani pedi and I was done and out of there (drying time included for my nails) in less than an hour.
The mani was fine. The pedicure was basically filing my nails and then applying polish and nothing else. I could have done that at home for free. There was no pumice or anything. I went home and used the one I had in my shower that night. Also, the hot stones were just rubbed around my legs for like 2 minutes and that was it. I would have preferred a more effective regular leg massage.
The girl that did my nails was super nice and very pleasant.
I asked what the normal price was so I could tip off of that and they told me $ 65…I almost fell on the floor. I can get a better mani pedi at the mall for half that!

This is a fantastic hair salon and spa in Metro West. I love the atmosphere, and my stylist Nicole is so friendly and cuts my hair beautifully — finally! someone who understands how to cut my fine hair so that it looks like it has body. She is also a talented colorist, and knows how to highlight so that it looks natural and not «bleach-​y». I am also pleased with the aesthetician Kenia — she shapes my brows beautifully — again, best shaping I’ve ever had really. And she is very sweet and friendly. I would like to try getting a facial with her in the future.
I think the Groupon deal may have soured some potential customers. The salon is open for very limited hours on Saturdays, so its unrealistic to expect that you’re going to be able to get an appointment quickly — I imagine they learned their lesson and in the future will extend the expiration date and/​or issue fewer Groupons so that they can manage the demand.
I agree with the comments about the hot stone pedi — it is kind of a waste. I prefer the exfoliation I’ve gotten at other salons. I would not go to this salon just for nail services, but as part of an overall spa experience. I highly recommend their hair and other spa services.
And I’ve always been offered something to drink when I go — wine is only offered in the evenings. Coffee, tea, juice, water is offered during daytime.

Finally got to use my groupon today. My overall impression/​experience was very good. Very trendy sort of place and all the stylists were dressed nicely. Everything was neat and clean and someone was always sweeping the floors.
My facial was excellent! Shoulders and arms, all the way down to fingers got massaging and lotions. From the knees down as well. Very nicely done and soothing. My skin feels very good and and I learned some things to try at home. I’ve already booked my next facial in October.
Pedicure was pretty good, had the hot rock massage and exfoliation; did miss the callus work, but I can do that myself easily enough. Toenails look good and my feet feel pretty for the first time in a long time.
Manicure was ok, not impressed with the filing and shaping, massage was good and hot rocks felt nice. My nails did get messed up before I even left when they were checked for dryness. Since I don’t really do my fingernails with polish, I didn’t much care as I knew I would be removing the polish before long.
I definitely recommend this place for the facial and even the pedicure, but if you are really into getting your fingernails done, I would do that somewhere else.

Another Groupon user. I called in January and couldn’t book a Saturday apt until June. Ok, no biggie, I made the appointment and put it on my calendar and out of my mind.
The salon is set up strangely, I parked in the back, and went in the back door marked Entrance. I walked into the salon part and no one acknowledged me. I wandered to the front and found the desk near the front door. I was taken up to my facial quickly and it was a lovely room and she was very nice. I told her I have a sensory allergy to strong floral scents and she said «Oh well, they are all floral scented.» I said I guess we’ll have to see how it goes, but she left for a minute and came back with unscented products. The facial and massage was nice.
The stone mani/​pedi were ok. The pedicure chair has a massage feature, but it made an awful noise when it hit the top I turned it off. My toes and fingers were smudged by the time I got back.
The entire time I was there, no one seemed interested in me, there was no small talk and no one asked me to rebook or come back. I have a feeling the staff has been burned by this Groupon and know that most people are going for one time only.

Too bad the groupon deal seems like it has caused some bad reviews — I bought one myself, but won’t be able to use it until August — getting Saturday appointments are a beast for this deal.
Anyway, I’d definitely recommend giving this salon a try for hair services. My stylist, Susan, is awesome! She knows how to cut curly hair and did an awesome job on my color. She is willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction — she has taught me new styling tricks, straightened my hair for free (curly girls loooove that!) and given me some quick highlights for free during a color.

I had no problems scheduling my appointment even given that I was using a Groupon. Yes, I booked a month or two out but it’s unrealistic to buy a deal en masse and then expect the next day to be available.
The woman I spoke to to book was friendly and helpful and willing to go over various options with me. Since I was having mani/​pedi and a facial, that meant there was a window of two and a half hours of back to back services they had to book me for, but, as I said, it was a breeze.
I had a hot stone mani/​pedi AND a facial. Let’s look at them separately:
The facial was lovely. The space was very nice and serene and the esthetician was friendly. Although I did break out a little after (tiny breakouts), my skin was very dry before and so I imagine this would have happened with any facial. When not actively working on my skin (hands AND face) she did a nice little job massaging my scalp. Very relaxing. Overall, I left feeling clam and my skin was bright and soft.
After my facial I moved over to my mani/​pedi. I thought the space where they do the mani/​pedis was very chic. There’s only one chair for pedi’s, FYI, so this isn’t a place to go and sit with your friends. The manicurist spent a lot of time carefully clipping at the cuticles around my toenails, which was good, but then she didn’t so anything about the cry skin on the rest of my feet. There was no «cheese grater» or pumice stone or anything of the sort, nor was there any sort of exfoliating scrub. The hot stone massage portion was a relative waste of time. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t any good. She basically just took hot stones and rubbed them around my legs lightly. The whole thing was boring and pointless. She did a fine job with a polish application but it’s been two weeks and I’ve already got a chip in the polish on my pinkie toe. In my experience, fingernail polish will last from hours to day but toenail polish will usually last a month or even until it just grow out so much you need more.
I got more attention and detail paid to my hands and feet during a $ 10 polish change at a place in Natick that I did with this full spa mani/​pedi. Again, though, the experience wasn’t terrible; it just wasn’t any good.
The salon itself is set up really neatly. There’s this glass conference table where they all sit around for coloring and such so people can mingle. The place is clean and modern and attractive.
I’d give the space 5 stars, the desk staff 5 stars, my facial 4 stars and my pedicure 2 stars.

I also used a Groupon for a spa/​hot stone mani-​pedi. Like others mentioned here, I had a terrible time getting an appointment – they simply had no time for months. I finally went last night and it was the worst mani-​pedi I’ve ever had. No foot massage, no exfoliation – both very common services with «regular» pedicures, then she burned my leg with the hot stones, then never used them. I called and spoke to a manager about my bad experience. She said «I hope you’ll try us again in the future.» Ridiculous. I’m glad I only paid $ 25 for this ripoff instead of their regular $ 60. But I could have had a much nicer experience somewhere else for $ 30. Stay away from this terrible vendor, they are one of the rare ones who have completely misused Groupon.

I really don’t know why I have to give out at least one star to nothing. Please read it as No star, because this merchant deserves none.
I purchased the groupon for the mani-​pedi several months ago.
I’ve called this place 4 times with options for dates and time frame.
However, they always said the next available appointment was at least 2 months out.
Now, I am done with them! It’s beginning of January, and the next available Saturday is outside the groupon expiration date of late March. Seriously, I want to know who would book a mani/​pedi appt 3 months out AFTER the holiday season.
I just hope groupon will refund.
It’s about ethics and honesty to run a business. If it’s «painful» to honor a groupon, it is ALWAYS an option NOT to list/​advertise the deal with them.

I purchased the groupon for the mani-​pedi & facial. I called the very next day to schedule my appointment (I needed a Saturday) and scheduled one for the middle of November. A week before my appointment some rude receptionist calls and tells me that the women who does that won’t be working that day and that we need to reschedule. No big deal I figure until she says that the next Saturday they have is in JANUARY! When I told her that it was unacceptable and that they should have called me sooner, she said it wasn’t her fault. She was extremely rude!!!
I then called Groupon and told them that if this is how I was going to be treated before I even stepped through the door, I didn’t want anything to do with them! Thankfully Groupon actually has customer service (unlike the salon) and they quickly refunded me for the groupon. STAY AWAY!

I purchased a Groupon for a hot rock mani/​pedi at Salon Entre Nous and really didn’t know what to expect. I booked the service for the end of July and Nadia gave me the mani/​pedi. The experience was wonderful. I have never had anyone be as thorough as Nadia. My nails were beautiful and the manicure lasted 2 weeks and the pedicure lasted 3 weeks (even at the beach — I made sure I put a clear top coat on every night). The location is right off of Route 9 and is located in a cute renovated house with plenty of parking in the rear.
I would highly recommend this salon for a mani/​pedi and would definitely go back.

cute little salon! my friend and i got hot stone mani/​pedis here with a groupon. a bit too far from boston in terms of driving, but we had a great time.
they did a great job overall, fun atmosphere & even offer you drinks while you are getting pampered.

My hair desperately needed a trim (currently in the growing-​out process) and I made an appointment with Salon Entre Nous since it A) got good reviews and B) was close by (didn’t want to trek to Newbury Street)
I’ve never been before and didn’t have a particular stylist, so the receptionist booked me with Julie. Julie was very nice, personable, and experienced with haircutting. She told me she’s been cutting hair for 22 years. I can’t really comment too much about her skills as a stylist since my haircut was so basic, but it came out nicely.
My biggest complaint is that Salon Entre Nous charges somewhat exorbitant prices. Their website states that haircuts + dry cost between $ 30 – 60. I was charged $ 60 for a trim. No angling, no layers, no graduation. I was surprised when it came time to pay since my entire visit (wash, cut, & dry) took less than half an hour. A $ 60+tip haircut would be a total steal had I actually gotten a haircut that involved more than snipping off 1 inch of hair. It was a bit ridiculous, in my opinion, but I paid and left.
I’m not sure if I would try Salon Entre Nous again. It’s conveniently located, but I’m a bit disappointed since I’m pretty sure I could have walked into any SuperCuts and gotten the same exact thing for ¹⁄₃ the price.
I expected more and learned an important lesson: the trip to Newbury Street is worth it.

I can’t say enough good things about my stylist, Sabrina, at Salon Entre Nous. I went in with long hair and was just plain sick of it. I told her I wanted something new and fresh and was feeling adventurous so I told her to do what she think would look best. The result was really beautiful. We went short and the color was just gorgeous. Shiny with great low lights. I got so many compliments.
The staff at the salon is also great. They always offer coffee/​water/​wine and the woman who has shampooed my hair gives the BEST head massage.
The one small negative I can think of is that I wish they carried Moroccan Oil Products. I have to go to another salon to pick up my product which is a bit of an inconvenience. But I wholeheartedly recommend Sabrina and Salon Entre Nous.

I will start by saying that my main goal in trying Salon Entre Nous was to take my lifelong Blonde locks to an Amy Adams red as BF finally was like «Do what you want.» My experience here was nothing short of fabulous.
I was running a smidge late, being that I wanted to be early and was frazzled by the time I ran in the door. The salon assistant, I think her name was Danielle, pointed me to the bathroom and when I came out offered me a much needed glass of wine (white, please). I relaxed for a couple minutes, looking around and reading up on my People magazine. Then I met her, Brianna, the angel who was fated to do such an amazing job on my hair. She explained to me what issues could come from my hair request and that is was a commitment… really thorough without trying to talk me out of it and not trying to push the service for a quick buck. It was nice to have a stylist who generally thinks about their client and future issues. (She has rules about changing your hair if you are in your third trimester or before a special occassion).
Some special PROs:
–Not only was I able to make a later appointment on a Thursday (730pm) but Brianna had no quams about sticking it out til my bangs looked right and my hair looked glam, even though is was after 9pm.
–Danielle did my rinse and shampoo. #1 She took her time and really helped take that last bit of edge off. #2 The shampoo chairs doubled as massage chairs… and I am ashamed to say I had never seen that.
–Wine (girl, I needed to relax)
–A really special salon where you feel welcome and part of the «club» but without sacrificing the upscale salon feel.
They have a new customer in me!
Note: They cannot add tips to credit cards. I learned that the hard way. Brianna was super gracious about it and I told her I am a woman of my word and would bring her sweet moola the next day. Gah, talk about embarrassing though!
