Specialties
THE place for oysters, wine and local seafood skillfully prepared. Hands down one of the best selections of oysters on the East Coast, a variety of small plates, great steaks, fresh off the docks Outer Banks Catch, and award-winning crab cakes make this a must stop for those who enjoy great food in a comfortable atmosphere.
History
Established in 2006.
Founded by Chefs Dan Lewis and Scott Foster, former chefs with DC area’s Sutton Place Gourmet (now Balducci’s), this once gourmet store has been transformed into one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the Outer Banks, and authority on oysters, local seafood, and wine.
Meet the Business Owner
Daniel L.
Business Owner
Native New Yorker Dan Lewis trained at the Culinary Institute Of America near his hometown, and has been cooking southward ever since. After three years in Atlanta, Chef Lewis lead the culinary program for DC area gourmet retailer Sutton Place Gourmet (now Balducci’s) for 15 years before opening his own gourmet market, wine shop and catering business with fellow Balducci’s chef Scott Foster in 2006. The business has since evolved into three full service restaurants, with the original market location becoming an oyster and wine bar. Chef Lewis has since become an authority on oysters and a Certified Sommelier with the Master Court of Sommeliers, and is active in local seafood and coastal environment concerns.
