History
Established in 2005.
Mattebella was established when Miami-based lawyer Mark Tobin and his wife, Christine Ferrari Tobin — who grew up on the south shore of LI — bought a 15-acre Southold vineyard, naming it after their children. Mark learned to make wine from his father-in-law, and now commutes from Miami to make the wine; Chris manages the vineyard, which has recently received certification as sustainably farmed. Their first release, the 2005 Old World Blend, was rated 90 by the Wine Spectator.
