Prospectors Bar & Grill

Went there last Saturday evening. I ordered an Oyster PoBoy and regular fries. Received a squid and clam Poboy, with a sweet salad. I did not argue, as they were busy and the lady who brought it out started to get irate when I said I’d ordered the Oyster Poboy, so I just figured I’d try it. The salad was fine. The deep fried squid and clam strips on toasted bread tasted just like that, nothing special, not much flavor, not something I’d bother ordering.
The selling point for this restaurant seems to be gluttonous portions, not necessarily quality, and certainly not getting the order right. There are plenty of other restaurants around, I’ll give them a try next time.

Went with my hubby for a late dinner. It was very quiet but quite a few tables full in bar area. Seated right away in a quiet booth. Prompt drink service. Lots of great choices on the menu. We ordered the wedge salad which I say everyone needs to try. It was the perfect size to share. My husband had the chopped steak with gravy and loved it. I had the steak and steamers with a loaded potato and it was fantastic. Perfect size portions and cooked perfectly. Great overall experience and would recommend to any friends.

We went with a party of 30+ with 2 hours notice and they were extremely accommodating! Our service was wonderful, the food was great and filling and everyone left happy and satisfied! We’d definitely go again.

When I eat at Prospectors, I never leave hungry. I had the cod fish & chips. You get two mondo-​sized (really really big) pieces of fish along with an adequate amount of fries. It came with an adequate amount of fries and flavorful tartar sauce. The service was good: the orders came quickly and the waitperson always made sure our water glasses were full. Prospectors only gets 4 stars because of the too vinegary coleslaw. I’m normally a coleslaw fan, but I prefer mine creamy. I couldn’t eat theirs. Coleslaw not withstanding, I’ll be back.

Called an hour before to bring in a group of 30. Not only did they expertly handle our large group (that expanded to 43 before it was all said and done) they managed separate checks, constant water refills, and a few picky eaters. Awesome night. Thank you for making our evening so memorable!

We always seem to end up here on Saturday nights after we have tried other restaurants but don’t want to wait for an hour. Prospectors gets our big family in immediately every time. Can’t beat that when you have a bunch of hAngry teenage boys. Ribeye topped with onion straws and served with a loaded baked potato and seasonal vegetables. Great burgers too and best tomato soup i have ever had

Five of us went everyone’s meals were wonderful. I had the ribeye perfectly prepared and one of the best I have had. Chicken fried steak was amazing ! Homemade and large! Pot roast dinner was huge not my type of seasonings. Beef ribs wonderful also. Can’t wait to go back I want to try the pot pie!

My wife and I went there yesterday for an early dinner (3:30 pm). For drinks I ordered ½ lemonade and ½ soda water; I have never seen lemonade without a yellow color, but the waitress assured me that it was from their supplier. After going home, I started to think that it was probably mostly chemicals and very little actual lemons. My wife ordered wine, and it took the waitress 2 times to get it right. They charged us $ 11 for an 8 ounce glass of wine which we felt was outragous! (the total bill was over $ 60 for 2 chicken dinners, 2 salads and drinks) Yikes!
We both ordered the Chicken Dinner, which we have had before (about a year ago), and a Wedge Salad. The salad was very good, but the Chicken dinner was a disaster. Parts of it were over cooked, probably due to the differing sizes of the chicken parts. The green beans were supposed to be fresh, but they appeared limp and tough, with some of the bean ends burned. The potatoes where supposed to be real mashed potatoes, but had too much liquid in them and tasted like they were powered (our waitress insisted they were not, and the beans were «fresh»).
We left the restaurant vowing never to return… it used to be a nice place to go for the chicken dinner, but apparently no longer.

Great food with large portions. You won’t leave hungry from here. Service is good and everyone is friendly. This is a fun place to gather with family and friends.

We don’t come here often for some reason but when we do, our food is good along with our service. We had breakfast here the other day and it was DELICIOUS. Next time we go out to breakfast this will definitely be a place we go.

Great food and Great Service! I Got the Shrimp Po’ Boy Sandwich and it was really good! About the best food i’ve had in Spokane! I’ll be back!

We enjoyed cheerful, timely service and a wonderful meal. The rib eye was good, but not the best we’ve ever had… still, it was a pleasant experience.

Server was so helpful, accommodating and friendly. Looking for a light lunch here will be difficult as they have large hearty portions. But was led to the quesadilla which tastes as good as it looks.

The food was good. We had a large party but, they charged a cake fee… for a cake that we brought! The server scoffed when we requested a knife to cut our cake. Even though some of our guests didn’t eat cake, we got charged the fee (1.35/per person). There was no mention when we made the reservation even though they knew it was a graduation party!

I would tell anybody to come eat here best food and good people to take care of you and they have the best chef in spokane working for them now so it’s only going to get better

Great food and service. A local recommended, only two $$ signs. The Tomato Basal soup is OUTSTANDING. I’ve never had tomato soup fixed the way. It’s pan fried when you order it with onions, squash, peppers, & zucchini. NEVER had it fixed this way. Salmon Ceaser was great with nice serving of salmon hose made croutons large cheese crisp. This is one time Unilocal let me down because it is über rated. Try I you will not be disappointed and trie the soup.

I have Celiac disease and can not consume gluten.
My wife and I paid you a visit on Easter Sunday. We were unaware your regular menu was unavailable. But you did have a Buffet. Being the dutiful person with a Special Dietary need, I inquired to your staff if someone in charge could take a moment to walk through the buffet with me to identify items that ‘do’ or ‘could’ contain gluten. This is not an uncommon request in other venues and most often met with cheerful assistance. Your staff went in search of you but you did not come out of your hole to offer guidance. Instead, you sent your staff member back to me with instructions to «stay away from the obvious breads, etc.»
Seriously!!! Is that what you think my concern is??? THE OBVIOUS???
No. You stayed in your hole because you do not care. You ignored a customers dietary concern for what may NOT BE OBVIOUS in your establishment.
When you don’t take that concern seriously enough to come out of your hole it teaches your staff not to care either. Wonder what else you don’t care about? Actually, no I don’t wonder. I won’t be back and I won’t recommend your establishment. It is OBVIOUS to me that you don’t care about what your patrons consume or don’t consume as long as you are not bothered by it.
Thank you for staying in your hole. I will leave you in it and go to Outback Steakhouse where they actually take care of customers with special dietary needs.

I’ll give it 3 stars because it’s always hit or miss with this place. I have had 5 star experiences and a couple 1 or 2 star experiences. I usually only go when they have a special or groupon going on. Otherwise you never know if your going to have a bad experience at full price. When the cuts of meat are good they cook it perfect. However I have had really «grisly» steaks from here before. I guess it’s a coin flip.

Sunday brunch is by far my favorite time to come here. Open early, for a Sunday in this town, and not terribly busy at open. The staff is friendly and the portions are enormous! Don’t be afraid to split something! They used to do Bloody Mary and Mimosa specials on Sunday mornings but those seem to have gone the way of the Dodo.

No flavor in the pasta Sicilian. Potstickers have some weird Asian sauce. Potato soup flavorless under the shredded cheese. Pretty disappointing.
The bread they bring out before the food was amazing, as well as the cinnamon bread pudding.
