My wife and I went there on Sat may 21st and we found Leo sitting in the front rolling fresh lumpia! He was awesome and very proud to offer the best lumpia San Diego has to offer. We also got some delicious Chicken adobo and we’re not disappointed. Leocynns has way better and fresher food than the Filipino restaurant across Paradise Valley Hwy. They are also much nicer and more hospitable as well.

Hands down the best lumpia ever! The old couple that run the establishment are sweet and take pleasure in ensuring the food they make is not only authentic but delicious. Definitely coming back!

CLASS A ASSH*LE i drove all the way from SDSU to be greeted with such hostility. As soon as i walked in i got attitude. Being my first time there i asked a few questions and every question offended this guy. He rushed me to order before I could even read the menu! This guy was absolutely HORRIBLE! !!! First the sign said open at 12pm. LIE!!! Apparently he opens at whatever time he wants from what the next door patrons told me. I return at 3pm. wasn’t helpful at all. Finally after saying one more snarky remark at me i decided to cancel my whole order and walk out!!! DON’T EVERGOHERE!!! His shitty attitude and awful customer service isn’t worth the food… Go next door to tasty China they also make lumpias. I have had awful service before but this takes the cake on douchebaggery!

Really good food. The first time I came here, I really didn’t like their attitude but stopped back in anyway since the food is so good! They are actually very sweet, it’s definitely a mom & pops kind of shop, but try their food & you def. won’t be disappointed. Oh, & bring cash cause it’s cash only & they don’t accept bills over $ 20.

This place is literally a mom and pop kind of stop… The owners are very sweet however I did not like how they prepped the lumpia right out in the open where the customers wait for their food… The prep materials(i.e. The meat) were left out with no refrigeration or anything… And the pansit did not taste freshly made… I literally heard a microwave go off and then all of a sudden my pansit was done ITWASMICROWAVED. It was very dry and hard to enjoy. I don’t think I will be returning.

People are right. The rude guy ruined it. I wasn’t expecting ass kissing or anything over the top service.

Went in on a spur of the moment thing. The first thing I thought is «what’s this guy’s problem». But he turned out to be a nice very open man. Yes he’s old school but he makes good food! His lumpia had me craving more. So if you want good food. Go here. If you want someone to kiss your ass. This isn’t your place. I can’t wait to go back!

I was searching for a place with good lumpia’s and I heard great things from people about Leocynn’s food. However, due to the lack of customer service I will not be ordering from here! I work for a large hospital and we wanted to get some prices for an office party. We needed to purchase a few large trays… Well, the man who answered the phone was the prime example of poor customer service. He could be used in one of those pre employment customer service videos as a great example of how to NOT treat customers! Due to their lack of customer services and extremely rude behavior we will not be ordering for here nor will I try the food or recommend this place to anyone! Not to mention cash only? Are you serious? Get with the times and stop trying to cheat Uncle Sam! Ugh!

I’m glad I decided to give this place a try in spite of the negative reviews. The owners were very friendly to me, and we chatted while my lumpia were being made. The lumpia were very fresh, flavorful, and cooked to order. Yes, this place is cash only, so come prepared. We enjoyed our lumpia, and will make a point to order from them again.

Small place, delicious lumpia and pancit. There isn’t a crazy variety, but the main Filipino dishes are delicious. Cash only.

Started eating @leocyn’s when they first opened and used to be nice. Leo can be pretty rude at times. Don’t ever try n get lumpia quotes on the phone frm him when theyre busy… he is hella rude. Only eaten lumpia n pancit cuz thats all that seems safe to eat. The shrimp lumpia suck! But the sauce is real good I drown my lumpia & pancit in it… gives them flavor.

Pretty good lumpia. The man working was not the friendliest, but I also did not feel like he was being rude or mean. Might just be me, I don’t expect much. I paid for my food and it was FRESH. As far as taste goes, it was a bit bland. but there are dipping sauces that help! I would probably be back.

2 words. Horrible Service! The owner needs to learn to give good customer service because this is just ridiculous. I hate to write bad review but man… Smh. My boyfriend and I went in to get some lunch, we ordered our food, He seemed annoyed to take our order. At first I didn’t think anything of it and let it slide. He tells us how long it will take. We come back and then decided to get another order for the rest of the family. This man starts yelling at us and mumbles something like«NO! I’m not gonna be making a lot of food!» Um… Okay, I’m trying to give you business buddy, but fine guess you don’t need my money. I give this place one star, though I do agree that the lumpia is pretty good. It’s not the best. You are better off going across the street from 7⁄11 they also sale lumpia there, it’s cheaper and it’s actually better and so is the customer service. Dude needs anger management or at least needs to get removed from dealing with the customers. It’s gonna be bad for business.

FRESH. He rolled and cooked it in front of me. He is older and has that attitude/mentality of most traditional older male Filipinos. If you require impeccable service AND quality food then this might not be your cup of tea. HOWEVER… If you go to places for their products(in this case lumpia) then I would give him a shot!

The lumpia has always been awesome here. BUT the service is just down right horrible! I was calling in an order and wanted to know what meats they offered in the lumpia because I always get shrimp. I asked the owner if they had chicken and he started yelling at me saying«What first you ask about chicken and then you ask about shrimp. What do you want?!! What do you want!!!». I literally asked if they had chicken and he said yes and then I said I’d like a shrimp and chicken and he went plum crazy! Not going to this place anymore and they need to close seriously because he’s always been like this.

Went here for the first time today and really enjoyed the lumpia =) Was a bit worried about all the bad reviews but personally I didn’t see anything wrong with how the owner acted he seemed nice and courteous. A bit gruff but I attribute this more to him being oldschool than being rude which I personally find refreshing. Thats just me though I guess lol. When I came in the owner(I’m presuming) was sitting at a table, seemed to be enjoying a relaxing moment of the day I’m guessing. It was the first time I was having lumpia so I was just looking around at first with my boyfriend. He asked how much I wanted and let us know that it was cash only. While we were discussing how many to order I made a comment about not knowing since I didn’t know how big they were. He grabbed some out and showed me so I could make an informed decision(keep in mind this comment was aimed at my boyfriend so the help from the owner without prompting was much appreciated ^_^). We ordered and were told 15 minutes. They were done on time and were hot and delicious. I recommend dipping them in the sauce they provide they’re a little spicy and just makes it better! As a previous Unilocal reviewer posted they fry them on demand. I guess based on that review thats not normal so I thought I’d throw that in there to highlight the place a little more. :)

Looking for different Filipino food joints to try out, after seeing & reading all these negative reviews about how the owner was; «extremely rude», «an old, grumpy man», «SORUDE!», «RUDE! LOUD! And MEAN!», «obnoxious«, «a complete a-hole», «abrasive», «acting worse than an animal» Like someone running to see the carnage in an auto accident, I knew I had to check this place out. I wanted to see this in person even if I were knowingly walking into a 1 star experience. In all fairness, I came into this place & acted normally as I would have any other food place. The old man was sitting at a table making lumpia. I greeted him as I walked in & I think he reciprocated the greeting in a kind of a loud grunt. I started looking over the menu familiarizing myself with the different options. The old guy loudly asked me what I wanted. At that time I realized this gentleman had one voice volume, and it was a little on the loud side. I also noted that his voice inflections and mannerisms seemed gruff & curt. I told him I was figuring out what I wanted to order and that seemed to satisfy him as he said nothing in return. When I knew what I wanted I told him I was ready & gave him my order. He got up from the table & said he would get a piece of paper and let me know what my total would be. I paid him in cash & he said it would take about 10 minutes to fry up my order. During this time he never told me it was a cash only business or that he needed to see my money. Signs were posted clearly regarding the cash only rule. Sure this guy never smiled, engaged in pleasantries & the extent of his service was basic — Tell me what you want, this is what you owe me, I’ll make it and ‘here’s your food’. Where was this monster that so many reviewers experienced? As I waited for my food, an older couple came in to order some lumpia for now and order some to pickup tomorrow. Ahhhh, I thought, I’ll see the monster come out now. There was a little bit of communication issues on clarifying the order & how much it would cost, but no where during the transaction did I see or hear the old guy get rude or obnoxious. Move along folks, nothing to see here. Well, I liked the fact that they fry the lumpia to order. A big plus. The lumpia was good, not fantastic. I can’t call the service bad, just adequate. I do agree with the reviewer in that there is «a cultural, old-school way of talking» that characterizes the old guy. He doesn’t come across friendly and actually may not be. But I had no issues with him.

« Unilocal 100 Challenge 2015 — 1» Wow! I am only giving one star because zero is not an option… I ate here once the food was okay. However, I just called now to inquire about a tray of Lumpia and a tray of Poncit. I was told«to get information on these things you need to come in and talk in person I don’t do this on the phone. For your information 100 Lumpia is $ 65 one tray of Poncit is(I could not understand his price)» I began to respond«okay, so I come in-» that was that. Apparently he had too much to do and didn’t have enough time for customer service. He hung up on me and lost a customer for life.
