We proudly serve dishes from various regional parts of Mexico ranging from vegetarian like our Chile Relleno Plate to our meat eaters Dedos de Cuauhtemoc. We serve from spicy like our Entomatado Pork to mild like the Milanesa Plate or our Pollo asado Plate.

We offer other unique dishes like the Chile Azteca and the Pelangoche Alambre or our ever so popular peanut butter chicken, traditional drinks like horchata and jamica, Mexican bottled sodas, margaritas, micheladas wine and finally pulque. we serve traditional dishes you can’t find anywhere else in San Diego like Chicken in Pecan Sauce, Shrimp Poblano, quesadillas de flor de calabasa and quesadillas de huitlacoche and our Delicious Ropa Vieja.

Here at Ranas we have great breakfast choices too, come try our Chilaquiles with carne asada and enjoy a cup of our fresh Mexican coffee and a glass of orange juice! With over 60 dishes over 20 drink options to choose from there is some thing for everyone to enjoy.

History

Established in 2004.

Ranas Restaurant is a dream come true for my family I. It may sound unbelievable, but since the very first day I met my wife, we promised each other that we would have a fine restaurant serving cuisine from Mexico City … this colorful and flavorful food is a strong passion that lives inside of every fiber of our soul.

What started out with paper menus and great food has evolved in a more refined experience that we constantly look to improve for our customers.

Looking back over 10 amazing years later, Ranas Restaurant is still going stronger than ever serving fine Mexico City cuisine to our friends from San Diego and around California. We are proud to be a family owned and operated business. Our friends and customers are great people, and we couldn’t be happier. One day, my wife and I know we will be blessed to operate other locations around San Diego, cooking up even more great food for more great people.
