Melissa H.

Business Owner

Melissa Herpel is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

She graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 2004 with her BS in Nursing and began practicing as a cardiovascular nurse at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in the Medical Center. Melissa earned her MS in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University in 2007.

She worked for over two years at a low-​cost family practice clinic in northwest Houston as the primary provider for her patients. She changed gears in 2009 and began working for an urgent care center in Aldine. Here she not only treated patients with acute injuries and complaints, but also treated fractures, acute chest pain, gunshot wounds, and asthma exacerbations.

Melissa loves her patients and treats everyone like she would treat her family. She provides excellent care and shares a little bit of knowledge and laughter with all her patients.

I had a very pleasant experience. Although there was a wait (which is to be expected with any Drs visit), the total time that the staff told me (to check in, visit and pay) was accurate to the tee. There was no hassle and my prescription was filled as I needed. The staff was also very friendly and personable. I will definitely be coming back.

I cannot say enough about how great this place is. It is extremely well run very fast but the most important thing is the expertise and quality of the medical care. I moved from spring to Houston last January but I still drive 35 miles to see Melissa at her clinic. The lady knows what she’s doing and makes you feel great about your visit. I have recommended express Family Clinic to several of my friends.

Great clinic in a country where healthcare can be expensive this clinic really bridges the gap for individuals without insurance. The staff is friendly and attentive and their providers are awesome! You will know why they always have a wait when you go to see them, they are just great!

My parents are visiting from out of state for the summer and ran out of their blood pressure medications (naturally) so I took them in. The provider (Melissa I think her name was) was awesome. She talked with us a bit and we were even able to even get some labs drawn for less than I pay at my doctors office and I personally HAVE insurance. I honestly think I’m going to start seeing her myself it was such a great experience with my parents. Everyone was really nice and the office was really clean (something Important to me). So overall I highly recommend.

Went in, got a room immediately. Was seen in less than 20 minutes. In and out in 40 minutes. The appointment are very affordable along with the cost to do blood work. Staff was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back.

I love this place. Not having health care, being sick can be incredibly expensive. I went in on a Tuesday for a common cold. I waited in the waiting room for about 10 minutes. They called me back, and I waited in the viewing room for about 30, but it didn’t bother me because I wasn’t being charged an arm and a leg for health care. The visit with the practitioner was quick but thorough. I know I can trust these people. It was only $ 50! She prescribed me antibiotics and steroids just to be sure. After the coupon card that they gave me, and my good rx app coupons my 3 prescriptions were only $ 15. To top everything off, they even gave me a courtesy call to make sure I was satisfied and to ask if there was anything else they could do. I’ll definitely be going back!

I was seen as a walk in yesterday and everyone was SO kind and helpful! From the front desk gals to Miss Tameka in the back, they were awesome. I was feeling terrible and was in and out of the office in less than an hour with only a $ 50 charge for the visit and prescriptions. The coupons I was given to get my medications filled helped big time too! I highly recommend this clinic!

I am very very happy to have found Express clinic. I was treated and given a prescription for $ 50, YAY! I was able to get my meds for $ 5.60 at Walmart.
I am new to the Houston area, unemployed, uninsured and didn’t have a local physician. In the past I have gotten stuck with huge medical bills even with insurance and I normally only go see a doctor a couple of times a year for annual checkups and few times that I get sick. I was pleasantly surprised at Express Clinic the front desk staff was very friendly and explained the costs. I was seen and the nurse made me feel at ease as they took my vitals. My only regret is that i struggled for 3 weeks and didn’t seek medical attention because I was concerned about the expense, now I know I don’t have to worry about unexpected medical costs.
A couple of days after my office visit the clinic called to check on me. I was pleasantly surprised that they followed up with me. Thank you Express Clinic for providing quality medical services at a reasonable price.

I needed a hep b shot and everywhere else I went such as minute clinic or the clinic in heb charges about $ 150, with so many fees attached. Administration fee, facility fee, etc feen I went to family express clinic and my bill wad $ 25!!! I definitely come here for vaccines. I don’t feel like I get ripped off, I feel the prices are very reasonable. I definitely recommend, especially if you don’t have insurance!

Best express clinic. My kids love «dr. Melissa» a nurse practitioner. Although the clinic does not file insurance, the fee is reasonable for the dr. Visit. They will find the most reasonably priced method of treatment.
