I ordered the hamburger and substituted the fries for rice, my plate was really yummy. I ordered a cheese quesadilla for my daughter and it was okay, it looked and tasted like someone slabbed a piece of cheese on a tortilla and served it over more cheese. My friend ordered grilled meat and since the guy didn’t write our order down she waited 15 minutes for a order that wasn’t hers, so she had to wait again for her order. I asked a waiter if there was a bathroom, he didn’t show me where the bathroom was he nodded yes and just walked toward the front door. I liked that our drinks were refilled without asking. I also enjoyed the fresh salsa, I usually don’t eat the salsa when visiting Mexican resturants but I ate it here. The bath room was semi clean, the only thing that I have to say about it was the big mold/rust stain around the handycap/mother bathroom toilet, also there is a hole in the wall where the tile broke.

Every time I go there I get sick. Food comes our way too hot because it sits under a heat lamp and it’s just oozing with grease. They give you the nastiest tequila shot(if you want it or not) plus their margarita mix is so fake and sweet I become tired of the sweetness even before I feel tipsy. Good service and everyone is friendly… just the food really sucks

This place is great. We know the owner and always comes out to greet his customers. I have tried different things on the menu and each time it has been awesome.

The breakfast buffet was awesome! I had a fully loaded omelet, potatoes, refried beans, plantains, and fruit. The breakfast buffet is $ 10.99, and it is definitely worth it. You can select how you want your eggs cooked, or choose from pancakes, waffles, etc. Overall it’s a great weekend breakfast buffet!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over a decade with family. The food is pretty awesome for the price and the margaritas are strong. I also am one for variety plates when I can’t make up my mind, which means I order the Avocado Relleno= stuffed avocado with either fajita chicken or beef, cheese enchilada, fajita beef taco al carbon as well as rice, beans, sour cream and pico de gallo. And to top it all off, dessert comes in the form of complimentary tequila shots. I approve.

Great customer service! Food was good, a little better than I expected. If you’re looking for a quiet place to have fajitas and a margarita, this is where you should go. Sit in the bar area. The bartender might walk around with the occasional free shot of tequila. Close to home and very inexpensive. Come check it out.

First visit and I can see my husband and I becoming regulars. Our drinks never got low and this is the only place that I have found that makes enchiladas that I actually enjoy eating. The mixed fajitas had very moist seasoned chicken and the beef was extremely flavorful. I probably ate more chips and salsa than I should have, but that again speaks to the flavor. I thought the margarita was weak until it came back and hit me in the face and the shot of tequila at the end was a nice surprise. We cannot wait to return.

The food here is always excellent. My wife & I really enjoy the weekend breakfast buffet. The waitstaff has always been very attentive. My only gripe is they refuse to give you«to go» cups.

So I visited this restaurant for a dear friend’s birthday. a friend who begged me not to review this place. Sorry Linta. !!Happy Birthday! First things first. the name of the restaurant is «Tequila Patio», but be warned that there is no patio or any outdoor seating for that matter. There is also no lavish assortment of Tequilas as one might assume. Just your average margaritas, salsa, food and service. Note: Knowing a little Spanish wouldn’t kill you and may possibly guarantee your order is served as requested. FOOD Mediocre at best. It was hot in temperature but lacked flavor. any flavor. The Salsa was a dud and so was the teeny tiny molcajete it was served in. I ordered the Flauta plate. it came with some under cooked rice and sloppy beans. My husband ordered the Carne Steak and he said his food was alright. DRINKS Took a while to get our waters. then it took a while to get our Margaritas. I was told that the«house» margaritas were watery and had little to no tequila. I ordered a jumbo margarita with a beer in it. It had some flavor while it lasted but then I spilled it all over the table and my friends. It wasn’t good enough to ask for another. VENUE This place has been so many things over the course of 20 years. Private party are in the back, small bar near the restrooms that you can sit at if you wish. I noticed my friends going to the bar to witness their drinks being made because they believed the tequila bottles were filled with water… Hence the watery drinks. NOTE: There was this weird smell in the restroom and area near the restrooms that was reminiscent of vomit and a hand full of loose change. I can’t even begin to think how that smell is made. But I Digress –There are plenty other eateries in the area. where you can pay 24.00 bucks and get way better food, service and DRANKS!

Horrible food! My Dad came to visit feom california and we went there for dinner. My husband got food poisoning, and we all had the shits. My husbands food was cold and the cheese sauce on his burrito was some sort of velveeta. My sons hamburger and fries were cold and burnt, looked like charcoal and he wouldn’t even eat it. Wull never eat there again.

First time I went there I had the ham torta, which wasn’t the best but was okay to eat. I was very disappointed to find out they do not serve lemonade! A few weeks later I ordered two bean and cheese tacos and an asada taco to go and was again very disappointed when the cheese on my tacos was not melted and the asada taco had no flavor. Plus the tacos were super small. Today I went for their breakfast buffet and the food was actually great. I will definitely be returning for their breakfast buffet.

As I understand it, you go here for the brunch, which includes authentic Mexican dishes that are quality(according to my Hispanic boyfriend who even showed me how you can tell some of it is good quality). As a white bread American girl, I found this place disappointing. I’ve ONLY ever been here for the brunch, which is a good value. All-you-can-eat buffet style. The generic American buffet was disappointing. The fruit was probably the best, being good and fresh. But the bacon and eggs, etc. were all bland and very, very underwhelming. If you don’t enjoy the authentic Mexican cuisine, I recommend going to the ladies that cook up what you want to order, fresh. They make good omelets. I think they even do waffles. They have some tasty Mexican dishes displayed in front of the cooktop that are tasty. I would have given them three stars because I’m good getting the omelet, BUT the first time I ever came here and was watching the ladies fry up eggs and whatnot, there was a leak… of what I hope was just water. Though I would expect it was dirty water given that it was coming from above. There was a man obviously trying to adjust things to make it stop. With me watching, a big glop just fell right down into the area where all the lady’s mixings for the omelets were resting. Was not sure if it made it into the food or just on the counter surface, but the man looked me right in the eye, and I looked back at him expecting him to do something to ensure the integrity of the food. ANDHEWALKEDAWAY. Very, very disturbing. To say the least, that first visit, I did not order anything from the ladies cooking up the fresh orders that I did later find out were what I needed to be ordering… I will also say that none of them wear gloves while they’re cooking the food. I’m sure they wash their hands, but I didn’t think that was usually acceptable in kitchens anymore… Should probably call a health inspector there, but I try not to think about it because my Hispanic boyfriend really loves this place, and we only go on occasion because I’m not as big a fan. Be careful. There are redeeming qualities to the brunch, but… I dunno…

I feel like the food is different every time I go. Sometimes it tastes really good and sometimes it is kind of gross. it’s close to home and pretty quick but I would rather eat at lupe tortilla which is further away and always crowded.

Enchiladas are good, chimichanga along w/most everything else is up to par. We did enjoy the random times the staff would bring us shots of tequila at the end of our meal. Service is slow, and the fajitas are TERRIBLE. I could understand if they didn’t make a good cheese burger at a tex mex joint but really??? bad fajitas??? Margaritas are decent. The place gives off that good small town food establishment that I crave for. Would have rated higher but fajitas have to be good!!!

I enjoy the hospitality and the free tequila shots, but the Mexican food is standard. There isn’t anything creative or one, signature dish that reigns supreme. It’s just a quiet, random place to go in the middle of nowhere suburb Houston. Still, I enjoyed it. Service was great. Atmosphere and décor is very low quality, but again– who cares when you just want to eat a taco and drink a margarita one random day?

I want to start by saying that I’m not picky with food, and with a dining experience I can overlook a lot and still really enjoy myself. It takes a lot for me to really dislike a place, but they accomplished it. I have to say, the service wasn’t bad. It was probably the only redeeming thing. We got our drinks refilled as we needed, we didn’t have to wait too long for our food, and our waiter came to check on us a few times in between. Parking, also, was really easy; they have a giant back lot that was pretty empty. Our group was myself, my boyfriend, his friend, and a couple with a baby. We were there on a random afternoon/early evening during the week, so we didn’t have to wait to be seated and had plenty of room for a high chair and all of us at the table. My first impression of the food was the chips and salsa. I’m from San Diego, whereas my boyfriend and his friends have lived in Houston for years, so we have very different experiences with Mexican/Hispanic foods – and neither he or I liked it. It was very tomato-based, and after a few bites I felt like I was eating warm tomato soup on a chip. I wished I could go back in the kitchen and add onion and cilantro and spices to it. We ordered, and they brought out the cheese puff things(which aren’t my favorite, here or anywhere, but just because I’m not used to them. I don’t like the nacho-style cheese that much). I had a combination of enchiladas and a taco, my boyfriend got a burrito. When my plate came, everything was centered on the plate with rice on one side and beans on the other; their portion sizes were generous. I couldn’t tell the difference between the enchiladas and the taco. Everything was covered with a thick, THICK layer of cheese. When I tasted it, it tasted exactly like the cheese from the cheese puff – like cheese sauce that you’d pour over nachos. It completely overwhelmed everything on my plate. I picked at it a little bit and then ate the rice and beans instead. My boyfriend ate most of his burrito, and liked it better than I liked my dish, but afterward he said it wasn’t that great. Again, I’m usually not picky about restaurants. I know that some things are a matter of taste. That’s the only reason I can imagine this place having other positive reviews, because I would never go to this place again.

The food was good, not extravagant by any means. I had nachos and my companion had the buffet. He was suspicious because none of the dishes were labelled. I was disappointed by the cheese sauce instead of jack for the nachos but the meat was tasty and they have good chips there. The salsa was the worst thing I tried. It tastes like called tomato sauce and needed a lot of salt to be palatable. I plan to go back and try the weekend buffet. Also, margaritas were good, small was $ 3 and about 8 – 10 ounces. The cups are a little misleading with 1.5″ thick bottoms on them. I will give this place another try as it was better than the other Mexican places around here.

Try as I may, I could not find fault in Tequila Patio. We went there for the brunch this past Sunday. Dishes ranged from classic Mexican(tamales, menudo, slow roasted meats, etc.) to fresh fruit, to American breakfast classics(eggs to order, pancakes, potatoes and gravy, etc.). Normally if you go to a buffet you expect buffet quality food… everything tasted like something I’d order off a menu but in this case I could eat as much of it as I wanted! They kept bringing fresh tortillas(literally asked if we wanted them and went to the lady to press them and warm them… amazing, thick, warm, fresh tortillas… need I say more?!?). The service was friendly and super attentive. $ 9 a person was more than reasonable. We’ve been on the lookout for the«wow» breakfast place in the area and found it for our tastes… will definitely be back here again in the future!
