I hardly ever review things but this place is fantastic and Pooja does great work. She will take the time to explain techniques to you and is very flexible and accommodating. I have been very satisfied (with whole face threading and some waxing), and the price can’t be beat.

Pooja is amazing! I relocated to DC last year and was desperate to find someone who was competent and experienced at threading. I like the fact that she always makes herself available if I need to change my appointment. Become a regular, establish a régime and you’ll be happy. What the f$&k! I just left this place and I am so mad I even stepped foot here. I read all of this lady’s reviews on Unilocal and everyone seemed to rave about her… so I decided to check her out. I schedule my appt online for 2:45, I arrived a few mins early and had to wait a little; no big deal. She finished with her client and then called me over. Pooja seemed pretty nice she asked if I wanted eyebrow clean-​up and I told her yes. After about 3 mins she was done. I thought this was odd because when I have gone before to other threading places they usually take at least 10 mins, but I thought since maybe it was just clean-​up that this was sufficient time. Well when I looked in the mirror I wanted to cry!!! I had a linear spot of hair missing from my left eyebrow… eyebrows I’ve carefully and patiently have grown out! Pooja rushed me out and then proceeded to close the door (it was open when I arrived). At first I thought it was the lighting, so I ran to my car and looked in the mirror, NOPE IT WASNT THE LIGHTING… I had a spot of missing eyebrows!!! I will NEVER, EVER return to this so-​called amazing place!
If you want to have a patch of missing eyebrow then be my guest and go here, but if you care about your pretty brows then RUN, RUN AS FAR AND FAST AS YOU CAN!

Pooja is an artist. She is very honest, friendly, helpful, professional and a perfectionist. I only wish that I had found her years ago! She threaded my face and eyebrows. She also tinted my eyebrows to the perfect shade to match my hair color. My eyebrows have never looked better! Also, I mentioned that I have spent a fortune on eyeliners and I can’t seem to find one that works. Like a magician, she produced the perfect eyeliner for me. I absolutely love this eyeliner. I bought some mascara as well. She sells a great line of make up and skin care products. I will be returning to her on a regular basis. You must try her because you too will be thrilled that you found her!

When I first read about Pooja’s business, I was thrilled. Great reviews and astonishingly cheap? I knew I had to give it a shot. She’s by appointment only (really wish she allowed walk-​ins but perk of appointment only is the no-​wait) and I was running late to one. However, she was great and understanding to my situation. Huge points in my book.
Anyways, it’s a small, simple, and clean office area. She’s friendly enough and told me she’s been threading eyebrows for 7 – 8 years. When I booked my appointment, I had told her in the comments section how I wanted my brows done, so that’s the first thing she addressed. At this point, I was impressed because I figured she wouldn’t even pay attention to it. So I didn’t have to say much and she got right to it. However, right before she started on my brows, she suggested also doing my upper lip. She then explained that she wasn’t trying to sell me but rather just a suggestion since I have fair skin but dark hairs and it’s visible. Agreeing with her, I allowed her to do my upper lip in addition. (Both brows and upper lip are a total of $ 10, $ 5 each!)
After some small talk and a courteous question of whether I was okay or not, she was finished and gave me a mirror to look at myself. I told her my arches weren’t even, which she then explained that was because my eyes are not even and she shapes my brows based on my eye shape rather than to each other. I really appreciated her explanations and extremely like her because of them. She’s friendly and teaches you about her art instead of acting superior about it.
I love the shape she gave me although I did noticed one small flaw afterward (but nothing an eyebrow pencil can’t fix in the meantime). Unfortunately, a couple hours after I left Pooja’s, I started getting these tiny red, itchy bumps in places where she threaded. Only explanation is that I’m allergic to the thread she used =(I can’t imagine what I’d look like if I had a facial done. I seriously considered still going back even knowing my skin allergy, but after a couple days of some bumps not disappearing, I decided only to go back when I need to reshape my brows.
Don’t let my skin allergy deter you because everyone’s allergies are different; Pooja is amazing! I’m in love with my brow shape and can’t stop staring at myself in the mirror. She’s friendly and teaches you how to take care of your brows and I would come back every 3 weeks (like she suggested) if only I didn’t have a skin reaction to her thread =(

I have been going to Pooja for many years now for the threading of my eyebrows and waxing of my body and she is truly amazing. She does not make your eyebrows too thin and is always available when I need her. Her prices are very reasonable and she is willing to work around my crazy work schedule. Pooja never disappoints!

Pooja does my henna application. She is very professional and thorough, she is always carefully considers my hair texture and and needs. I have also had her thread my eyebrows and she does wonderful work. The suite can be a little tricky to locate if you aren’t familiar with the area. She is friendly and so easy to reach. She makes a service relationship more like a friendship. I mean, how many beauty services let you call or text to set an appointment?

Also, as far as the few people who have anything negative to say: Don’t believe them. They must just be whiny people because my EVERY experience with Pooja has been 100% positive. Some people always have to complain about everything!

Pooja is truly a hidden gem; convenient, swift, affordable, and trustworthy.
I’ve been seeing Pooja for over 2 years now and will never go anywhere else for hair removal. When you visit Pooja, you are not just a customer – you feel like you are walking in to see a trusted friend.
She is honest in all aspects (and when dealing with unsightly hair, this is a must). For example, when I asked if it was a good idea to wax my legs, she said no. Some of the hair was too short and couldn’t be removed with wax, and being summer time, I would be tempted to shave it in between appointments. Better to wait until winter when waxing would be more effective and easier to grow out in between. She easily could have banked more money out of my appointment, but viewed me as a long-​term investment instead.
Because she views everyone as a long term client, she offers useful advice to make for a better experience. First time with Pooja? Your eyebrow hairs may be growing in at different speeds, especially if you pluck at home. After a few appointments, you should be caught up. And don’t pluck in between! That causes baby hairs to grow, and these can’t be threaded as easily.
Only a few times has she «missed a spot,» and upon inspection with her hand mirror, she gladly cleaned it up after I pointed it out.
My best friend and my mom have both become regulars. If that doesn’t speak volumes to how great she is, I don’t know what does!

I love this place. This deal is such a steal. She does such an amazing job. She’s very friendly as well. Her office space is super clean and professional. And the treading is very clean and fast. Defiantly going to be coming back every 3 weeks.

Pooja is my go-​to for eyebrows, she’s awesome! I tend to be paranoid about my eyebrows after a couple run-​ins with bad threading at other places. Pooja knows what she’s doing; my brows always look good afterwards.
Get the full facial threading. It surprisingly makes a bigger difference than you’d think, I always leave feeling better!

I’ve been going to Pooja for years for brow and upper lip threading. She’s fabulous! So efficient, painless, and clean. Plus the prices are unbeatable. She does a great job making your eyebrows look natural and listens to what you like. I really can’t go anywhere else and always make a trip to Pooja’s when I’m back in Virginia (live out of state).

Pooja is wonderful! I found her on Unilocal in December 2013 and I’ve been to see her every three weeks for the past year and a half for eyebrow and top lip threading. Here’s what I love about her:
1) She’s polite, funny, and kind and does a great job. She is also very quick and thorough — I can be in and out in 10 minutes, looking fantastic!
2) Her business location is located right in between the Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s in Springfield, so I can see her while doing my errands/​grocery shopping in Springfield. It’s clean, smells good, has a comfortable waiting room, and there is always free parking in the lot!
3) She is not overcharging for her services– in fact I think she’s undercharging. She charges $ 5 for eyebrows and $ 5 for top lip. So I leave a 100% tip.
4) It’s very easy to book an appointment with her, either through her website or by sending her a text. I like the website because I can see all availability and it sends me an e-​mail confirmation. But when I’m in a rush I can text her and she gets back to me right away.
5) Even when she has a busy schedule, if I come late or miss my appointment she finds a way to squeeze me in, even if I have to wait a bit.
6) She also sells cosmetics like this awesome lip-​gloss with a mirror and light, or Artistry Essentials face scrubs/​masks/​cleansers/​toners.
7) When I come, I am visiting a friend, not just getting a service.

Threading is done too quickly which caused her to miss areas. She did offer to take care of the areas missed (which was another trip there).
I use to use someone who was SO thorough and took time with me, that this left me feeling like it’s just about making money and not providing the best service/​outcome.

I love a natural eye look, but everywhere I went, I’d leave with eyebrows too thin. Pooja is a great listener and gave me what I wanted – beautiful, natural-​looking brows. She’s an artist!
Additionally, I’ve always been too bashful to get my bikini area waxed, but Pooja put me so at ease that I decided to give it a go. Pooja made the whole thing as non-​embarrassing as possible. I still wouldn’t feel comfortable having anyone else do the waxing because it really is Pooja herself that made it a positive experience. She is a warm person and has a good heart. I totally trust her. I wish I met her sooner!

I spent years of my life getting my eyebrows waxed at Frizzles in Springfield until the prices slooooooowly kept creeping up & up. I had to cut my ties because financially it just was not the best thing for me to visit bi-​weekly.
I spent the last 2 – 3 years doing my own eyebrows and needless to say, they looked terrible.
As always, I came to Unilocal and found Pooja due to all the awesome reviews she received. I made my initial appointment with her on the website, confirmed my appointment with her via text message and I was in and out during my first appointment within 10 minutes.
I must say, after all these years, my eyebrows are finally getting some great shape and are slowly becoming thicker.
