Positive Image

I just started going positive image. Selivia did my brazilian blowout and did a cut. FABULOUS!!! I love it. She also undestood problem i was having with hair. And knew just what to do. Next we work on is color and that is scheduled June 18^th. Can’t wait. Have all confidence in world. Again she knows exactly what needed. She the best.

I love this salon. I’m here every 6 weeks for a cut and color. Donald is the owner and he really takes the time to consult on color choice and style. The color application is always spot on and the cut is always flawless. The staff is super friendly and very helpful.

I went to Nam months ago and am just posting (woops). I previously had full foil highlights and wanted to get a balayage so that I wouldn’t have to worry about the constant upkeep. Completely worth the price you pay because, 13 weeks later, my hair still looks great. He’s really nice as well, so the three hours I spent in his chair went by fast. I highly recommend him!

I am a new customer. The stylist, Nam was highly recommended. The salon was quite busy for a Friday mid-​day. The front desk was very pleasant and efficient. The salon itself is extremely clean and although busy, it appears to be a smooth running operation.
Now, Nam took his time with a color consultation. We decided on a good color for me. And he explained, why it was a good color for me. When I left hair looked great.
I highly recommend the salon, and also highly recommend Nam.
I will be returning.

Of color change and go back and forth between blonde and dark so striping the color happens a lot and if she can do it without having my hair fall out she does other wise we do the process! Anyways she is amazing

Got my haircut here. Had a good experience. Spent about $ 60 for shampoo, cut, and style. I would go back. Haven’t had any color yet or anything but they do seem to cater to that more. I asked a lot of questions about it and my stylist was very knowledgeable.

Nam is my stylist and I would never let anyone else touch my hair now that I’ve found him! I’ve gone to every salon in the DC area and Nam is by far the best! He’s always willing to fit me in and he always gives me EXACTLY what I want, which is REALLY hard to find in a stylist! I’m not the easiest person to deal with when it comes to my hair but Nam is so professional and has never had a complaint from me! I’d follow him ANYWHERE! He’s beyond perfection! If you’re looking for someone to give you exactly what you want and leave super happy every time Nam’s your guy! I wish I could give him 100 stars!

My stylist is Nam. I used to go to him at the W Salon, but he moved to Positive Image, so I followed him. He makes me look like a Victoria Secrets model. Today I asked him to make my hair look like Jennifer Aniston and I love the results. The salon is great. Very friendly staff, beautiful inside, great convenient location. Nam is very accommodating and has squeezed me in when I really needed a color before my sister’s wedding. He is on time for appointments and has never made me wait. Great stylist and great salon.

I had an appointment with Monica early Saturday morning. I am so thankful to find a salon that opens so early. I got a color and cut and both were great. The staff was nice and very helpful. I will be back.

NAM IS THE BEST HAIRSTYLIST EVER!
Nam has been doing my hair for over a year and a half and is AMAZING! His balayage are the BEST and there is never a dull moment in his chair.
I recently moved to Seattle and hadn’t had my hair done since October. So when he was in town, I had to jump on it! He re-​did my balayage and gave me the perfect red violet color that I asked for! Paired with the perfect mid length cut for the summer!
I have asian hair which is difficult for many but he gets it right every time! HE GETS ME AND GETS WHAT MY HAIR NEEDS!

Nam is AMAZING! I came in 3 weeks after getting awful color somewhere else (my hair was black and orange — ugh) and he completely transformed it into something you’d see in a magazine. He balayaged my hair and styled it so beautifully! Though I have lived in NoVA for 14 years, I’ve never found a stylist I liked and would travel over 700 miles to get it done in Nashville. Well, not anymore — Nam is my guy!

Nam always gets my cut and color exactly right, love it! He’s a younger stylist with a lot of talent and creative styling ideas. My daughter loves going to see Nam as well, mostly because he braids her hair after the cut (so sweet). Positive Image seems to be a professional salon with quality, loyal stylists.

I have been going to Positive Image for years. The staff is consistently friendly, and professional. The shop is a little cramped but always clean and well maintained. Stylist Sherri is a master of color and really collaborates with her clients. Donald is the master of the short cut. Julie is an amazing make up artist. Prices are right in line with similar salons. I would definitely recommend Positive Image to a friend!

For the first time ever, I had the best experience at a salon! It was my first time at Positive Image, the staff were great with me! I’ve had some bad experience with hair colors especially done at salons. So I was a little nervous about this one but I left satisfied, all thanks to Monica! She was more than great, she asked what I wanted & I got more then that! Loved it & loved her! I recommend anyone who has had bad experience with their hair to try this out & especially for Monica! Couldn’t have asked for a better stylist!!!

I got a decent haircut, except that it wasn’t what I wanted at all. I went in for a deva cut and specifically asked Cecilia, the stylist, to leave certain portions longer. She failed to do this, and also failed to cut with the curl, giving me a traditional bob that looks like a helmet on my head. All the curl has vanished from my hair. I’m horrified. On top of that, she spent the whole time talking about her family, which was ok for the first 15 minutes but really annoying after an hour. I won’t be going back. What a waste of money. I’m so disappointed. I was too afraid to ask her to fix it because I thought she would just make it even worse!

This was my first visit to the salon for a haircut. I made it clear what I was wanting, explaining I wanted a few inches off and even using my hand to show where below the shoulder I wanted it to be. I commented several times how important it was to me to be able to put my hair in a ponytail. What happened next has been irritating me all weekend and will have me angry until my hair grows out long enough that I’ll be glad to spend $ 90 at a higher end salon with someone who will listen to me. My hair dresser began cutting and once the first cut is done there is no turning back. I watched as she butchered my hair and it is now slightly above my shoulder when dry. I have thick hair which further angers me because I can barely pull it back without strands coming loose and getting in my face. The fact that I have a 1 yr old and we’re hitting summer and the humidity is setting in, I now have a haircut I hate and will have to find extra time to manage it to not have it be completely frizzy on a daily basis. Honestly, all I wanted was a simple haircut with some layering in the front. Should that be too much to ask?

Fantastic hair works!

I never got a chance to try this salon but I will never use them now. My friend with amazing hair recommended this salon to me. I made an appointment well in advance for a HUGE event I was attending for color, cut and style.
Less than an hour before my appointment on a Saturday afternoon I received a call that the colorist/​stylist, THERESA, had called in & my appointment was cancelled as a result. They couldn’t fit me in with anyone else and seemed shocked when I declined to reschedule.
When I made the appointment, I made it clear that I had something big to go to that evening and that I was counting on them to help me prep for the event. I made sure that we were allowing enough time and did everything I could to make this go smoothly.
So they cancelled, couldn’t fit me in with anyone else and left me high and dry on a Saturday afternoon. No other local salon could fit me in by the time they cancelled and I ended up having to color and cut myself.
I wouldn’t be so bitter, but I didn’t even get so much as an aplogy from this salon… just utter disblief when I told them I didn’t want to reschedule at their convenience.

I don’t even remember how long I’ve been going here! I’ve been a loyal customer since I think for about 6 – 7 years now.
Theresa Smith (Pink Hair) is my hairstylist and I love her. I have black hair and I dye it brown with a mixture of different blonde highlights. She always does and amazing job! I’ve never left unsatisfied!
I strongly suggest going to her if you decide to get your hair DID!
