The Springs, A Montessori preschool and Kindergarten in located in Springfield, VA. We have been providing Montessori education to the Northern Virginia area since 1966. Our goal is to provide a secure, inviting, challenging and stimulating environment for the intellectual and social development of each child in accordance with the Montessori philosophy. We are currently accepting applications for the fall. We offer both a full day Montessori Program and a half day Montessori Program. Our classrooms provide traditional Montessori education with mixed age groups where children are encouraged to learn and develop at his or her own rate in accordance with his or her own needs, interests, and abilities. We are devoted to helping children acquire a love of learning, intellectual curiosity, respect for others and self discipline. Classroom facilities are rented from The Springfield Christian Church, but the school is independent and classes are secular. The Springs is dedicated to the Montessori philosophy and the method of teaching developed by Maria Montessori. In the Montessori classroom, each child will learn and develop at his or her own rate, in accordance with his or her own needs, interests and abilities. We work to help children acquire a love of learning, develop their academic potential, develop self discipline, as well as self respect and respect for others. History

Established in 1966.

The Springs was started in 1966 as an affordable Montessori Half Day pre-​school in Springfield, VA for children ages 3 – 6. In 1984 the school expanded to include both a Half Day and Full Day program. In 1999, the school continued to grow and was at full capacity of 99 students. In 2014, The Springs moved its facility due to the growing need for affordable Montessori education and expanded its program to include infants and toddlers.
