This is the best pizza deal in St Aug. They have imaginative combos and even gluten free dough. The lunch special is especially a steal

Our local mellow is one of our frequently traveled spots. We’re here at least once a week(for happy hour) where beers are on sale, 2−4−1 mixed drinks and $ 4 funguys/brochette. Love the pizza selection, especially the local-infused datil works pie. Try it with the datils if you dare!(spicy!) The bartenders are great, I even call some of them my friends now :) Great addition to the island and to St Augustine in general. I like bingo night(Wednesday) too but the prizes recently changed to a $ 5 gift certificate across the board, meaning no how challenging the bingo you get $ 5 [bring the gift certificates for a pitcher of beer back! ;)].

2 stars for pizza 0 for staff 0 for mixed drinks 0 for atmosphere 80 $ later, we’re pretty disappointed. Who knew that stoners working at a hallucinogenic themed restaurant wouldn’t be good employees.

It’s nice to find a gluten-free pizza crust! I also appreciated an alternative to red sauce. The food was slow to come out, it was the kitchen, not the server.

First trip on Saturday night. Parking is tight. Fantastic beer selection(5 star good). Wine was expensive for the pour, but good. Pretty good Caesar salad but served in an bizarre slanted bowl that looked like a chair from the Jetsons and was weird to serve from. You had to shovel the salad out onto a plate. Pizza was fair, like most of the other too-thick, crud-on-the-crust stuff I’ve had in town and undercooked as seems to be the way here. Dude on guitar playing cover tunes was somewhat annoying but we tipped him on the way out nonetheless. I’d go back for beers in an instant. Anything else would depend on if I went hungry or not.

This place has some excellent pizza. I found the Meatball Trio and Portobello Stuffed Mushroom appetizers leaving much to be desired. Nothing special about the meatballs with a rubbery mozzarella cheese and a very thick and slightly burnt tasting marinara. The Portobello was inedible. I was with a large party which three others tasted the mushroom app and all hated it. The waitress Molly was excellent and super accommodating, friendly and professional. She had the manager remove the portobello app from our bill. The pizza is always delicious and everyone enjoyed the great pizza and wine. Service being so excellent this time prompted my 4⁄5 rating. Fun place to go on a Friday night.

Not much to go on here today, this was a lunch salad stop for me and my family. However the service was top shelf and the salads were fresh crisp and just the right size. If the pizza was anything like other mellow mushrooms I’m sure it was good. The pizzas that we could see on the tables around us looked fantastic. This restaurant is clean the wait staff is on top of their game the food came quickly.

Horrible, cramped parking lot. Really hard to navigate, especially in the rain. The host asked if my hubby and I wouldn’t mind taking a ‘high top’. We said that would be fine, but we had no idea what the host was talking about. He seated us in the noisy bar section at a tall table with two bar stools. Now we know what a ‘high top’ is. A group of loud drinking guys were beside us and one of them kept staring and flirting with me. Thank goodness my husband didn’t notice. Anyway, the menu prices didn’t match the online prices that are supposed to be the same no matter which Mellow Mushroom you go to. Every dish, pizza or otherwise, was about $ 5 more expensive than the website stated. We decided to leave. The location of our table, our neighbors, the prices, and the sports bar atmosphere annoyed us to no end. Do not recommend this place.

Stopped in with the wife on a Sunday after church, looking for some yummy pizza, cold beers, and football on TV. Found all of them in spades at Mellow Mushroom. This place is usually packed, but I was surprised to find plenty of parking outside, and plenty of seating available inside, especially at the bar area. The service was great– bartender was attentive, friendly, offered great suggestions, and knew his beer. It was nice that he offered my wife a few samples of the drafts to pick which one she would like best. I was impressed with the amount of draft beers available, and was glad they had a few of my favorites and a few I wanted to try, not to mention a good selection of local breweries. The pizza selection was pretty impressive, a lot of different flavors and choices. We ended up getting a large and splitting between two different types, and the pizza was fantastic. There’s something about the dough that I really enjoy, it just tastes fresher than most pizza places. The toppings were also very fresh and they covered the entire pie. The pizza tasted delicious and didn’t come off like it had been sitting in a freezer for a few weeks waiting to be baked. I was also impressed with the appetizer and salad selection, I may have to try a few of those next time. Overall, had a great visit here. Great food, cold beer with a ton of draft choices, and they had the NFL Sunday Ticket package, so you could check out your favorite game on the big screens. Service was great, restaurant was clean, and easy to get in and get your grub on. It was somewhat pricey, but I feel the quality and amount of food we got for the price was definitely worth it. Bonus points for the sweet painting of Ronnie Van Zant above the bar. Will definitely be back.

One of the better Mellow Mushroom locations, and I’ve been to a lot, including the first store on Roswell Road in Atlanta. I need to preface that I’m a big fan of MM In general, and have yet to regret eating at any of their locations. This location is definitely in the top 5 food wise. My salad was great, and the Italian sub I occasionally get was the best I’ve had at MM. Service was stellar as well. A busy Friday night, they were slammed, and yet they were able to seat 5 of us in 1⁄3 the time expected. Table service was fast, accurate and friendly. Never felt rushed to turn over the table either. All in all, very glad they put one in St. Augustine, I will definitely go again on our next beach trip.

Really expensive for pizza. Tasted good and generous portions. Service is hit and miss. Décor is real nice, clean rest rooms. Wild toppings for the adventurous, like curry chicken. It’s just that +$ 40 for a salad a pizza and a couple ice teas is kinda steep.

Was it just the choices that we made or that the Jacksonville location is much better… perhaps both is the situation. The hostess was extremely friendly and so was our waitress although perhaps not the most veteran as she was often MIA or taking other orders, but not checking up on the table. Very nice the whole time… We ordered a kids meal: cheesy bread and apple slices and a large pizza(half veggie half karma no pesto). The cheesy bread tasted like one of those frozen hoagie pizzas you make at home after you’ve left it for too long in the back of the freezer and then didn’t bake it long enough in the toaster oven. The apples had definitely been sitting for a bit in a fridge as they were soft and very cold. They also tasted a little sour which isn’t ideal for a kids meal. The kid ate half the cheesy bread no apples. The large specialty pizza arrived dripping water onto the table. Even though we waited long enough maybe the pizza hadn’t baked all the way to dry out the water from the veggies? The pizza red sauce was mediocre. We were definitely disappointed. Just OK.

Stopped by Mellow Mushroom after a night of dancing at St. Augustine Ampitheatre. Walking in and needing a table for seven(which turned into nine), I was sure we would have a wait, but they were able to seat us right away and we began to peruse the beer list to quench our thirst-jones. We were each going to get a salad, but when our eyes caught the sight of the ‘local’ menu we quickly upgraded to the Datil Work pizza. Splitting a small allowed us just enough food to sate our taste buds without going home with a stomach ache. The pizza has a datil pepper sauce base with chicken, peppers & pineapple. The combination of ingredients created a nice sweet heat on the pizza. Our waitress — whose name is failing me — was so sweet and stayed right on top of getting our table everything they needed without missing a beat. Definitely will have to remember this shop is on the island the next time I’m in the Anicent City.

I have yet to go wrong with Mellow Mushroom. Their happy hour is great, My hubby and I had $ 3 margaritas. They also make them«skinny»(which cuts out a lot of tartness). The menu is huge and so versatile: you always can find something for everyone. This time, my husband and I compromised and got a pizza that the two of us could enjoy. Since we have such different palates, it’s hard to split anything. But we got 3 toppings that we could agree upon: artichokes, pepperoni and caramelized onions. It was fantastic. The pepperoni is a huge highlight here, it’s one of the best I’ve had. And ever since I came here and had carmelized onion on my pizza, I want it on everything. The crust is so fluffy and crispy at the same time, it is my absolute favorite. The servers are really helpful and have some great suggestions.
