That’s right it is the 5th Concours d’Elegance event in beautiful picturesque St. Michaels Maryland, right on the water front near the very regal Inn at Perry Cabin Inn but held this year at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Luckily the rain held off the temperatures were perfect with just a thin high overcast. Let me tell you that this line up of fine automobile is not for all you fast and furious types… no, these cars date back from the 1900’s to 1942 and are they the most elegant exquisite rides you have the pleasure of ever seeing. The mere presence of these roving works of art sent me into a happy intoxication drunk on all that is vintage automobiles. On display were Duesenburgs, Auburns, Bugatti, Delage, Franklin’s, Delahaye, Lincoln, Packard, Locomobile, Lozier, Triumph, Stanley and many more. By the way if you don’t know any of those old car manufactures then this is not the show for you. However, if you have a passion for these unique many one of a kind or limited built meticulously restored down to the last detail models then please go here next year when they have it again, see this parade of greatness. This event is in part sponsored by Euro Motorcars and everybody did a terrific job at putting this prestigious two day event together. Just being down there watching all of this history in motion all of these cars were in great working order. Making their way out on the promenade. I look out towards the water and in the background are beautiful wooden sailing boats many vintage Garwood speed boats all about, just that alone is enough to inspire poets. It was well worth the 2 hour trip that wife and I took down here we made the day of it. Believe me I was in no hurry to leave this little slice of heaven.
