Food was good and fresh.
But that did’nt make up for shady pricing practices.
In addition to the coffee rip off, there was also the soda rip off and the large party rip off.
The soda was $ 20.00 for a pitcher of watered down cola (it was not Coke or Pepsi I can assure you) 20.00! Can you imagine?
We had a large party: 12 people and when the check came we were charged for 16 people. I had paid it and was busy with my guests when it occured to me that something was amiss. I checked the tab and sure enough I noticed this. I grabbed the server to point this out to her and all of a sudden she does not remember me. Where were you? At what table? Huh? I’m told to see the manager who suddenly disappears.
I go back there every day until I get this twit and lay it out-​credit back my card or I’m disputing it. They did reluctantly, and gave us two dinner vouchers which we redeemed right away since a place as shady as this might not be around much longer.
I felt cheated and never went back after redeeming the coupons.
That place was there a long time but I believe it changed owners recently and that’s when the games started. You can’t rip people off and expect to stay in business in a very competitive market and in a bad economy.
I’ve also learned, that with some restaurants, if they feel you are distracted, they will slip you an inflated check and hope you won’t notice. And if you do, pretend it’s a mistake.
That was in 2007.
Now they’re closed in 2009. Hmm I wonder why? Good riddance Mauro’s!

bad bad gnocchi.
Don’t tell me you have homemade gnocchi, when it chews like a rubber mutant lima bean (though i’m pretty sure i would have liked the lima bean better).
These babies, they could sleep with the fishes, if you know what i mean ;-)
The sauce: worst pesto ever. Greenish, heavy creamed, not pesto flavored unsalted blah.
The second star is for the sweetest person who answered the phone and took our order.
