History

Established in 1983.

I started making mousse cakes for restaurants in the downtown New York financial district. The business grew and we opened our first store in 1983, We started selling to more restaurants and more retail, we actually grew out of our space and had to find another location which was 5000 sq ft. Customers who bought our desserts were assured of purchasing a quality dessert. Mother Mousse’s reputation grew and customers who bought a Mother Mousse cake were confident that their guests or hosts were receiving a wonderful dessert. A few years later we were actually ready to open another bakery on Staten Island and we did on Hylan Blvd in Grant City.

Meet the Business Owner

teri and joan R.

Business Owner

Teri was a waitress and wanted to open a restaurant. She did not have the money to open a place. it appealed to her to figure out another way she would be able to sell her desserts, because she was working in restaurants and saw there was a lack in desserts she had the idea to make a sell them to restaurants. She delivered cake by bus to the downtown restaurants and to little Italy. Her partner was Joan and she was a secretary. Together Teri and Joan worked hard together to build their business and it grew, and grew!
